On March 17th 2003, one thousand practitioners took part in a parade through Geneva. The parade finished outside the United Nations building in Geneva, where a press conference was held, to expose the evil persecution in China and to appeal to the United Nations to act to help stop the persecution.

Faced with the urgency of the situation, we Falun Gong practitioners, on this symbolic day of the opening of the United Nations Commission on Human Rights, appeal to the hearts and actions of every individual so that the voices of millions of innocent persons who are persecuted can be heard and so that in China and elsewhere freedom of conscience and fundamental human rights will prevail.

The Chinese people's responses were very good. In order to let the passers-by know the goal of the march more clearly, a gentleman shouted in Chinese and English as he marched on: "Article 23 jeopardises freedoms. Stop the enactment of Article 23...Call for equal human rights. Call for equality and freedoms." Passers by, many of them Chinese, patted his shoulders to show their respect and gratitude. Also, many Chinese people who drove by gave a thumbs up.

On Friday December 21st, many different associations and members of the public gathered to publicly voice their opposition against Jiang Zemin’s attempts to export his regime of hatred to Hong Kong and persecute innocent Hong Kong citizens and visitors to the area.

Officials and visitors to the European Parliament building were very impressed by the peaceful scene that confronted them as the practitioners did Falun Gong exercises and collected signatures against Article 23. They gave encouragement and support to the practitioners.

Dr. Christian Nielson: And I would appreciate if we could stand up for all of these people who have been detained without the right to be detained and tortured for keeping the truth.

The detention of the Falun Dafa practitioners comes on the heels of news regarding a "blacklist" of Falun Dafa practitioners around the world that Jiang Zemin is pressuring countries he visits to use in order to prevent practitioners from entering those countries during his stay.

John Bowis MEP said in his statement, "The spirit of the Falun Gong practitioners.... would never be defeated by the suppression." Brian Coleman, Councillor of the Greater London Assembly pledged in his statement his “full and firm support to Falun Gong and its followers”.

I felt nervous in my stomach. At that time I had a sense of what a courageous act it is for Chinese practitioners to step out and distribute Falun Dafa materials in China.

Lord Moyne was the 2nd to speak in support of Falun Gong practitioners. He said that if China does not stop its persecution, it will not be regarded as a civilised country! He also firmly stated that Falun Gong will not fade away because of the suppression of the regime.

Its theme is to rescue Zhao Ming and other Falun Dafa practitioners persecuted in China.

Through all the trials, tribulations, pain and fear, my sixty-one-year-old mom stepped forward all alone, in a foreign country, on her path to share Falun Dafa.

Practitioners from Russia gather together for the SOS! Global Rescue Bike Tour to raise awareness of the persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners in China and to appeal to all kind-hearted people to save them.

Positive support for Falun Gong shown from Slovenian media

On September 9, the practitioners arrived at the Grand Place of Lille, the capital of Nord Province, where they received a warm welcome from more than 60 practitioners from Paris. It was also the Liberation Day of Lille and the city held a big ceremony. Many citizens got an opportunity to learn about Falun Dafa. Over 5000 flyers were distributed. Paris practitioners hired a tour bus in order to join the ceremony, and a double-rainbow accompanied them all the way there.

On the morning of September 13, two British members of the European Parliament received us in person outside the parliament building. Both parliament members clearly expressed their support for us, and hoped they could help us further in depth. Another Belgian parliament member arranged a room in the Parliament for us to have a press conference. She clearly stated that she helped to host the meeting because she supports Mr. Li Hongzhi, a candidate for the 2001 Sakharov Prize and the efforts to rescue the Falun Gong practitioners who are persecuted in China.

La Voix du Nord, the largest newspaper in the North of France shows support to the SOS! Globel Rescue Walk from London to Brussels as it arrives in Lille.

I honestly haven’t a clue what Falun Gong is, apart from the fact that it is something that the ruling politburo in China considers so subversive that they had to arrest a Trinity College student, Zhao Ming, when he went home to China. He is now being held without trial there for something which is done regularly in Fitzgerald Park in Cork.

"The practitioners will take three routes in Europe - the main route, northern route and southern route, totalling more than 7,000 miles."
