Zhang Cuiying would like to contribute something to the Commonwealth Games as she is an Australian citizen participating in The Spirit of Friendship Festival and for the first time disabled athletes are taking part in the 2002 Games. She would like to offer one of her paintings “A Pair of Handsome Horses” for sale at £40,000. The proceeds will be donated to the Commonwealth Games Committee and awarded to an outstanding athlete who captures the spirit of friendship.

The beautiful paintings reflect Falun Gong practitioners' serene and harmonious inner world. Dafa practitioners' great compassion and tolerance are just like lotus flowers in this chaotic time.

Through her exhibition, Zhang Cuiying was able to show the people of Zurich the dignity and serenity of Falun Dafa, and help them learn more about the practice. At the same time she was able to reveal the atrocities of the persecution through her own moving story of suffering at the hands of those who persecute Falun Gong practitioners.

Zhang Cuiying had to endure eight months of incarceration and torture in various Chinese prisons. She was freed, with the help of her husband and the aid of the Australian government. Mrs. Zhang is an Australian citizen. After regaining her freedom, she and her art have traveled around the world, to bring attention to the plight of the practitioners in China.

Wiesbaden (capital of the State of Hessen) staged their “Esoteric Nature Days” fair. Falun Gong had a booth there.

In south-western Sweden, near Gothenburg, lies Uddevalla. Here there are several Falun Gong practitioners who have practised Falun gong for the past few years and who have, more recently, appeared in public to show this fine cultivation method. They have recieved much support from the people of Uddevalla

There were also some Chinese passing by our tent. Most of the Chinese living overseas are willing to accept our truth-clarifying materials and chat with our practitioners. The Chinese tourists, however, kept far away from us and were expressionless and silent.

One morning, a group of seven to eight people passed by our tent. We handed out the truth-clarifying booklets but they mumbled under their breath,"Falungong! Who dares to accept the booklets, I will get myself into trouble when I return to China."

The Department of Culture in Wurzburg City, Germany invited Australian Falun Gong practitioner Zhang Cuiying to hold a Chinese painting exhibition. Because people were aware of Zhang's artistic accomplishments and the cruel persecution she suffered in China as a Falun Gong practitioner, her arrival drew a good deal of attention.

"Practitioners in the UK recently held a week-long Falun Dafa photo exhibition in the central library of Cambridge. Cambridge is a world famous university town renowned for its academic excellence."

Landscape scenes, mountains enshrouded in clouds, craggy cliffs from which rise weather-beaten pine trees, delicate flower and bird paintings, motifs of bamboo, chrysanthemums or plum blossoms, elegant pagodas and tiny human figures which seem to lose themselves in the natural surroundings are the main themes, next to aesthetically dancing women and certain animals in these rich nuances of traditional ink paintings by Cui-Ying Zhang who now lives in Australia.
