Since Jiang Zemin persecuted Falun Gong and Falun Gong practitioners in July 1999, intellectuals, who are usually treated as the foundations of a country,have found themselves unable to escape suppression and abuse. Innumerable students, teachers and employers in the institutes of higher education have been suspended from their jobs or studies to be brainwashed or sentenced to labour camps, or even became destitute and homeless.

From January 2nd to the 9th, 2004, Italian Falun Gong practitioners appealed outside the Chinese Consulate in Milan and mourned the death of Changchun Falun Gong practitioner Liu Chengjun. Liu died on December the 26th 2003 after being viciously tortured and abused by police officers following orders from the Jiang regime.

Dafa practitioners in Austria gathered at the Chinese Embassy on January 6th to mourn the death of fellow practitioner Liu Chengjun. They appealed for the arrest and severe punishment of his murderers. The brutal killing of Liu Chengjun indicates the vicious and callous nature of the persecution in China and shows that the evildoers are scared that their crimes will be exposed.

On Christmas evening 2003, Liu Chengjun, a Falun Gong practitioner who was brutally tortured in a labour camp, died at the Sino-Japanese Friendship Hospital in the Chinese city of Changchun. Liu’s name was on Amnesty International's Urgent Rescue list. Dafa practitioners from several cities in Latvia gathered in front of the Chinese Embassy in Riga to peacefully appeal and call upon society to severely punish the wicked people who persecute Falun Gong practitioners.

After hearing that Changchun practitioner Mr. Liu Chengjun was persecuted to death by Jiang’s evil regime, Swiss Dafa practitioners gathered at the Chinese Consulate on December the 30th 2003 to mourn his death and appeal for his murderers to be brought to justice.

Several weeks ago, Swiss Dafa practitioners started contacting newly elected congressmen via the phone and in person to clarify the facts about the brutal persecution against Falun Gong in China. Practitioner had the opportunity to distribute truth clarifying materials and delivery a letter of appeal to the political parties.

On December 30th 2003, a press conference was held in front of the Chinese Embassy in London to mourn the death of Liu Chengjun, a Falun Gong practitioner from the city of Changchun. UK practitioners appealed for an immediate investigation into Liu’s death, so that the murderers can be punished and the persecution brought to an end.

On December the 31st, heavy snow blanketed Munich. Dafa practitioners gathered in front of the Chinese Consulate, calling for those responsible for the death of Liu Chengjun to be punished and brought to justice. The World Organisation to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong has issued an urgent announcement to investigate Liu’s case.

The banners, pictures, and lighted candles to mourn this hero attracted the attention of many passers-by. Many people received flyers, asked questions, and signed their names on the signature petition form. They were angry at what happened to Liu Chengjun and could not understand why a government would persecute innocent people.

Liu Chengjun was recently tortured to death because he interrupted a cable TV broadcast to play a video exposing the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong. The Irish practitioners called for severe punishment of the wicked policemen, the murderers and the primary instigator of the persecution, Jiang Zemin. Two major Irish newspapers sent reporters to cover this important event.

On December the 30th 2003, Swedish Falun Gong practitioners sat in meditation in front of both the Chinese Embassy in Stockholm and the Chinese consulate in Gothenburg to mourn the death of Liu Chengjun, who was tortured to death by the Jiang regime. Practitioners also wanted to appeal to bring Jiang and the vicious policemen responsible for the death of Liu Chengjun to justice.

On January the 3rd, Dutch practitioners mourned for Liu Chengjun at the Chinese embassy in The Hague. They protested against the Jiang regime’s persecution of Falun Gong and demanded the instigators be punished. They called for the public’s concern regarding nearly one hundred Falun Gong practitioners imprisoned together with Liu Chengjun in Jilin, to prevent this tragedy from recurring.

Regardless of the terrifying consequences, Liu Chengjun and other Falun Gong practitioners risked their lives to broadcast the facts and resist the illegal persecution. They safeguarded man’s basic rights to free speech and freedom of belief. Their peaceful approach in resisting the brutal persecution is a magnificent feat.

Nearly 8,000 people were invited to participate in London’s annual Lord Mayor’s New Year Parade on January 1st. This magnificent event was watched on television by people around the world. Falun Gong’s performance was welcomed and praised.

Liu Chengjun should be applauded as a human rights hero, who has peacefully defended his faith and unveiled a web of deception spun by Jiang to hide his gross crimes against humanity. Mr. Liu used his life to clarify the facts to the public and to resist this evil persecution. History will remember the selfless and tremendous sacrifice Liu Chengjun has made for the world.

On January the 2nd, Belgian Falun Gong practitioners went to the Chinese consulate to protest against the atrocities committed by the Jiang regime against Falun Gong practitioners, and to mourn the death of Changchun practitioner Liu Chengjun, who was brutally persecuted to death several days ago.

On December the 16th, Dafa practitioners in Belgium held a peaceful appeal in front of the Chinese Embassy to call for a public trial of Jiang Zemin, the main culprit in the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. In July 1999, Jiang issued orders to mobilise the Chinese state resources to suppress and persecute Falun Gong.

On the first weekend of the Christmas holidays, Dafa practitioners from Bremen and Hamburg held their first information day at Cuxhaven. The purpose of the activity was to clarify the facts to people and to secure the rescue of practitioners in China, such as Xiong Wei.

On the 8th of December 2003, Hamburg’s Falun Gong practitioners arrived at the Chinese consulate today to peacefully protest for Xiong Wei’s release. She was a Berlin Industrial University student who was arrested for handing out leaflets about Falun Gong and the facts about the persecution on a street in Beijing.

Recently, Falun Dafa practitioners demonstrated the Falun Dafa exercises in front of the offices of several major news agencies in Ireland. The purpose was to present a clear picture of the nature of Falun Gong to the government, media and citizens of Ireland and to inform them of the ongoing persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners in China.

This activity, held in conjunction with World Human Rights Day two days earlier, was organised to draw more people's attention to the persecution of Falun Gong in China, and to stop the Chinese Embassy from spreading slanderous lies against Falun Gong in the Ukraine.

On the 10th of December, World Human Rights Day, Falun Gong practitioners held events accross Germany to appeal for an end to the persecution of Falun Gong, with a focus on the theme of suing Jiang Zemin for his role in instigating the persecution and the theme of rescuing Xiong Wei, a German practitioner currently incarcerated in China.

On World Human Rights Day, Falun Gong practitioners protested outside the Chinese Consulate in Munich against the Jiang regime's violations of human rights in the persecution of Falun Gong. A representative from the International Organisation for Human Rights (IGFM) attended and made a speech to condemn these abuses.

The persecution of Falun Gong in China has been ongoing for more than four years. Most people in the city of Dublin are familiar with this evil repression that has been triggered by the Jiang regime, and have supported practitioners with many acts of kindness. Many have also chosen to walk the path of Truth, Benevolence and Forbearance by beginning cultivation in Dafa.

Practitioners talked to the Ministry staff about Falun Gong and appealed for the rescue of the two overseas Chinese students, Liu Feng and Yang Fang, who are being persecuted by the Jiang regime in China because they practise Falun Gong. The purpose is to help the Irish government and the media to have a better and deeper understanding of Falun Dafa and the persecution in China.

On 10th of December 2003, International Human Rights Day, Falun Gong practitioners held a press conference opposite the Chinese Embassy in London. Speeches were given by Lord Thurlow and by the Chairman of UK Falun Gong Association. Several statements issued by UK public figures in support of Falun Gong and condemnation of the persecution were read out

The practitioners have appealed to the embassy to help stop the genocide in mainland China, and have sent forth righteous thoughts in the small park opposite the embassy. People that have been visiting the consular section of the embassy have taken the information materials that the practitioners have offered and have supported the appeal.

A spokesperson of the German Falun Gong Association said, “At the moment we are resorting to legal proceedings and legal evidence to expose what has happened in China. Of course, it is to expose all the persecution of Falun Gong and we urge the general public around the world to support Falun Gong practitioners in China.”

On the morning of Monday November the 24th 2003, several hundred Falun Gong practitioners from countries all over Europe gathered in front of the famous Brandenburg Gate in Berlin. Some practitioners began to demonstrate the Falun Gong exercises and hold banners and placards, whilst many others handed out materials to passing tourists and locals. Many Chinese tour groups arrived during the course of the morning.

About a year ago, Sterling went to China with other western practitioners to appeal for Falun Gong. All of them had a single wish: To urge the Chinese government to immediately stop the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners and to release all imprisoned practitioners. During this time in China, Sterling was beaten by policemen.

On the 16th of November, 2003, Falun Dafa practitioners gathered in front of the Chinese Embassy in Moscow to voice their support for the global lawsuit against Jiang Zemin, protest against the brutal persecution that the Jiang regime has inflicted upon Falun Gong, restrain the Chinese Embassy and Consulates in Russia from spreading slanderous rumours about Falun Dafa.

On November the 8th, 2003, practitioners from Munich, Stuttgart and other areas held a series of activities entitled the “Trial to Bring Jiang to Justice ” on Marienplatz square in Munich. Despite the cold weather, there were still a lot of passers-by, who were attracted by practitioners exercise demonstrations and photos of the worldwide spread of Falun Gong.

On the morning of October the 30th, Falun Gong practitioners held a candle light vigil in front of the parliament building at the Christian Castle district of Denmark, to appeal to the Danish government and citizens for the urgent rescue of practitioners persecuted in China.

Foremost the practitioners wanted to show the Chinese regime that the world knows about what happens in China, despite their attempts to cover everything up.Many people walking by stopped and expressed their support. Drivers honked their horns and waved. More and more people are learning the truth about Dafa and can see the evil nature of Jiang’s crimes.

On Saturday the 8th of November, practitioners in Stockholm held an appeal and vigil at Mynttorget square in central Stockholm to inform the public about the recent killings in China, in connection with the persecution of Falun Gong.Practitioners appeal to all kind-hearted people worldwide to help stop this persecution of innocent people as soon as possible.

Practitioners felt that this activity was particularly important after hearing about 100 practitioners imprisoned in a prison in Jilin province, China. Many of the practitioners imprisoned in Jilin have resorted to a hunger strike as their last means of appeal against this persecution. Some of them are near death after brutal torture from the prison authorities.

In order to urge the Chinese regime to stop the persecution of Falun Gong and to save the lives of Dafa practitioners who are on a hunger strike in Jilin prison, Dafa practitioners in Munich returned to the Chinese consulate to appeal again following the last activity on 30th of October.

After discovering that over 100 Falun Gong practitioners imprisoned in a Jilin prison are facing brutal torture from prison guards, Swedish Falun Gong practitioners held a peaceful appeal outside the Gothenburg Chinese Consulate on 7th November. Many passing cars honked their horns as passengers waved their hands in support.

Dafa practitioners in Munich went to the Chinese Embassy to call for people to pay attention to the Jiang regime’s persecution of Falun Gong. Practitioners specifically called for the release of Liu Chengchun, who participated in the interception of Changchun Cable Television signals and has been tortured to the extent that he is near death.

On the 28th and 30th of October, Austrian Falun Dafa practitioners held a candlelight vigil in front of the Chinese Embassy to expose the crimes that Jiang Zemin has committed, and demand the immediate release of Falun Gong practitioners illegally detained in Jilin prison.

The French practitioners sent forth righteous thoughts, used a loudspeaker to unveil Jiang’s crimes against humanity and gave leaflets to passers-by, including Chinese citizens who were at the consulate to apply for various documents. They came to learn the facts and many of them encouraged the practitioners.

"Today we have learned that in China there are many Falun Gong practitioners who have been arrested because they broadcast the truth about Falun Gong on TV; one practitioner’s life is also now in danger. As a result, 100 plus Jilin practitioners who are currently jailed are helping them by hunger striking. We are also here to assist them.”

Recently many of the Falun Gong practitioners detained in jilin Prison have staged a hunger strike, the only method available to them to protest against the severe torture they receive from the prison guards. Irish practitioners highlighted the atrocities in Jilin prison and their support for fellow practitioners imprisoned there.

Falun Gong practitioners held a peaceful demonstration in front of the hotel where Wu was staying as well as in front of the Parliament where Wu was to visit. When police, security guards, media and other people learned the truth, they were shocked and all of them offered their support to Falun Gong practitioners.

Practitioners first explained the facts to the policemen and told them that Jiang is officially being prosecuted in Spain. The policemen gathered around the practitioners with concern to hear and said they knew that Falun Gong is peaceful and is being persecuted in China. They happily accepted the Dafa materials and expressed their gratitude.

Jiang is the chief criminal in planning and implementing this persecution. He has personally ordered the formation of the Gestapo-like “610” Office to systematically carry out his orders of “defaming their reputation, bankrupting them financially, and destroying them physically”. As a result of these orders, thousands of practitioners have been persecuted to death or cruelly tortured.
