On the evening of July 23rd, UK Falun Gong practitioners held candlelit vigils in front of the Chinese Embassy in London and the Chinese Consulates in Manchester and Edinburgh to commemorate fellow Falun Gong practitioners who have been tortured to death in Mainland China, and to call upon kind-hearted people to come together to stop this persecution.

On July 20th 2004, practitioners from Kiev and Ukraine gathered at the city’s Chinese Embassy for a peaceful appeal against the persecution of Falun Gong. Practitioners exhibited several detailed pictures, which illustrated the brutal torture methods used to force practitioners in China to give up their belief in Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance.

On June 30th and July 2nd 2004, practitioners from Hamburg and Bremen gathered in front of the General Consulate of the People's Republic of China to protest against the attempted assassination of a Falun Gong practitioner during the Chinese Vice-Chairman's state visit to South Africa. In addition, it was their intention to inform the Embassy staff about this grave and unscrupulous event. We find it terrifying that the regime would hire killers to violently achieve their goals.

This Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th July, practitioners from around Scotland, the North of England and as far south as London held an Exhibition of methods used to cruelly torture Falun Dafa practitioners. The exhibition was staged to show the severity of persecution suffered by Dafa practitioners in China.

On July 17th 2004, Falun Gong practitioners from Central and Northern Germany gathered in the square at the symbolic Brandenburg Gate in Berlin to mark the fifth anniversary of the Jiang regime’s relentless persecution of Falun Gong. They appealed to the general public to help to end the killings in China. Many tourists stopped to take a look.

On July the 18th 2004, the fifth anniversary of the persecution of Falun Gong, UK practitioners held an anti-torture exhibition in front of the Houses of Parliament. By having practitioners act out methods of torture 'live', they aimed to make vivid the brutal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in Mainland China and appeal for an end to the persecution.

The practitioners decided to hold city centre information day activities. At times there was very heavy rain but the bad weather did not prevent the people from finding out about Falun Gong. They were friendly and willing to hear more about the persecution and the lawsuit against Jiang and his clique.

On 17th of July, 2004，three days to the fifth year of the persecution against Falun Gong in China, practitioners from Austria and southern Germany held activities in Salzburg to let more people know about the brutal persecution, and call for help to stop it as soon as possible.

Many people said that it is unbelievable, in the 21st century, in Mainland China, which is said to be ‘in the best period of its human rights situation’, Jiang Zemin has used the entire state machinery to commit such brutal crimes against its citizens who believe in Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance. Many bystanders encouraged practitioners to carry on.

On July 23 2004, Falun Dafa practitioners in England held a peaceful appeal in front of the Chinese Embassy in Manchester to mark the five years of ruthless persecution by the Jiang regime against Falun Gong. The Falun Gong practitioners sent forth righteous thoughts, practised the five-sets of Falun Gong exercises and explained the facts about the persecution of Falun Gong in China to the people of England who passed by using banners and posters.

On July 17th, Falun Dafa practitioners staged a live anti-torture exhibition in Chinatown, Paris. Practitioners then moved to Human Rights Square opposite the Eiffel Tower to clarify the facts about Falun Gong to tourists from around the world. Many representatives from the media, including Taiwan’s Central News Agency and Radio France Internationale, covered the activity.

On Saturday the 17th of July, Irish practitioners held a torture exhibition in the city centre of Dublin, in front of the city’s main post office. The Tiger Bench, Bamboo Sticks and Metal Cages were among the torture methods demonstrated and made real brutal abuse that practitioners are going through in China. People who were passing by watched the exhibition intently and carefully read the materials given to them.

On July 19th 2004, practitioners from Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland gathered in the city centre of Stockholm to hold a torture exhibition and Falun Dafa photo display between 10am and 4pm. Practitioners also demonstrated the Falun Gong exercises in the park between the two exhibitions.

On July 17th, French practitioners gathered at one of the biggest Chinese districts and used a live theatrical approach to expose the persecution of Falun Gong conducted by the Jiang criminal gang. The Jiang regime employs various inhuman torture methods to force Falun Gong practitioners to give up their belief in Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance.

For the past two years, practitioners have come to the Chinese Embassy every day, and the local residents all now warmly say hello to us. They all expressed their support and blessings when they learnt that today marks five years since the beginning of the persecution of Falun Gong and expressed their sorrow for the practitioners who have been tortured to death.

The Vice president of the Chinese Government came for a public visit to Iceland between the 9th and 12th of July. Icelandic Falun Gong practitioners, with the help of a veteran Swedish practitioner, held a peaceful appeal and a press conference outside the Chinese embassy in Reykjavik on the 9th of July.

On the 20th of July, the 5th anniversary of the suppression of Falun Gong, Slovak practitioners personally visited most of the local media to tell them the truth about the situation of the persecution of Falun Gong in China. Most of the media reacted positively and received information.

Tuesday July 20th marked exactly five years since the Chinese Government under Jiang Zemin instigated the illegal persecution of Falun Gong. UK practitioners held a second anti-torture exhibition opposite the House of Lords in London's Westminster to expose the brutal methods used in Chinese labour camps and prisons to force practitioners to give up their belief.

Prior to the German Foreign Minister’s visit to China, practitioners from Berlin and nearby cities held a torture exhibition in front of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the 8th of July, calling for attention to the persecution against Falun Gong conducted by the Jiang group and to expose its attempt to intensify the persecution overseas.

On Saturday July the 3rd 2004, several Dafa practitioners arrived at Kunsportsplatsen in Gothenburg. They called on Swedish people and tourists to express concern over the shooting incident in South Africa. In the past five years this is the most cold-blooded atrocity against overseas Falun Gong practitioners.

Practitioners made some display boards regarding the shooting of Australian practitioners in South Africa. Despite the hot weather, practitioners still continued to explain the truth about the shooting incident to the Ukrainian people. Many people were very shocked at the brutality of Jiang’s regime in persecuting Falun Gong.

On July the 6th 2004, Falun Gong practitioners in the city of Irkutsk rallied at the State Government compound and held a press conference to expose the Jiang regime’s crime of hiring thugs to shoot practitioners. The practitioners urged the Russian government to condemn the Jiang regime’s brutal persecution of Falun Gong.

After the protest began, the Russian police were pressured by the Chinese consulate to force the practitioner to turn the back of the banner to the consulate. Then the Chinese consulate took a step further by asking the police to throw the banner on the ground. Fortunately, the police chief understood the truth and helped the practitioner turn banner round to face the consulate again.

After hearing that Australian Falun Gong practitioners had been shot in South Africa, Dutch practitioners held protest activities in front of the Chinese Embassy on July 3rd 2004, to expose the crimes of Jiang’s rogue political regime, who hired thugs to shoot Falun Gong practitioners during Zeng Qinghong‘s visit to South Africa.

After reading the information boards and learning the facts about Falun Gong, people signed the petition calling for an end of the persecution against Falun Gong practitioners without hesitation. People hope that the shooting case will be solved and that the real criminals will be brought to justice. Many expressed their sympathy and support.

On July the 4th 2004, Spanish Falun Gong practitioners appealed at the Chinese Embassy in Spain to strongly condemn the Jiang group hiring gunmen to attack Falun Gong practitioners. Photos of the practitioners who were injured in the shooting incident in South Africa were displayed, as well as pictures of others who have been persecuted.

On July 8th 2004, the Russian Falun Dafa Association held a press conference in the “Independence Press Centre” of Moscow. During the press conference, practitioners exposed how the Jiang regime’s major player Zeng Qinghong hired thugs to shoot practitioners in order to prevent practitioners’ legal action against him.

To expose the Jiang group's employment of hired gunmen to kill Falun Gong practitioners, French practitioners immediately visited the South African Embassy and the Australian Embassy in Paris, giving them materials about Falun Gong and the persecution, and calling on the governments of South Africa and Australia to thoroughly investigate the shooting incident.

On June the 26th, United Nations International Day in Support of Victims of Torture, Dutch Falun Dafa practitioners held a peaceful appeal at the Hague International Court to ask the public to pay attention to the brutal and illegal 5-year persecution of Falun Gong by Jiang Zemin’s political group in Mainland China.

The Olympic Torch arrived in Munich on the 29th of June and around 20,000 spectators on Marling Square enthusiastically applauded when the baton was brought to the Square. Many civilian groups and human rights organisations held activities. The brutal persecution of Falun Gong taking place in China and the lawsuit against Jiang Zemin’s crime of genocide launched in many countries including Germany were specifically mentioned in the materials distributed by the IGMF.

In China, the Jiang group has already issued an order to shoot Falun Gong practitioners who persist in explaining the facts and a number of crimes involving shooting have been committed. Now, out of fear of being sued in international courts by Falun Gong practitioners, Zeng Qinghong and Bo Xilai have exported these acts of terrorism overseas.

To condemn Zeng Qinghong and Bo Xilai for their act of terrorising Falun Gong practitioners trying to make a peaceful appeal, practitioners from Bavaria and Austria came to the Chinese Consulate in Munich to present a petition. Their purpose was to remind the Chinese people and the international community of the genocide that practitioners are facing.

The South Africa shooting incident was the first malicious case in which Falun Gong practitioners were shot outside of China. It was an obvious act of international terrorism. We call upon all people who have a sense of justice as well as governments and media to pay attention to this incident, and work together with us to investigate and expose this crime.

At midday on July 2nd 2004, Falun Gong practitioners in Berlin gathered at the South African Embassy to expose the hiring of thugs by the Jiang regime in South Africa to kill practitioners and to appeal to the South African government to carry out a thorough investigation to find those behind the shooting, which took place on the 28th of June in Johannesburg.

On July 1st, practitioners from Goteborg and nearby cities gathered at the Chinese Embassy in heavy rain to protest the shooting incident that took place recently in South Africa. The Swedish Falun Dafa Association strongly condemned the Jiang gang’s terrorist behaviour against Falun Gong practitioners in the announcement, an appeal was made to the South African government to apprehend the thugs and hoped more good people in the world would stand out to condemn the persecution.

We handed out a press release to people who were waiting for buses and passing by. Many people came to look at our posters showing the torture methods used upon Falun Gong practitioners in China. After learning about the recent assassination attempt in South Africa, people were shocked. Among the cars passing in and out of the Chinese Embassy, there was one precious Chinese man who smiled at us and stopped his car to ask for a leaflet.

June 26th was United Nations International Day in Support of Victims of Torture. Practitioners in Spain held a peaceful protest outside the Chinese Embassy. Banners calling for an end to the persecution were displayed on both sides of the road as well as pictures illustrating the various forms of torture that practitioners in China are subjected to.

On July the 2nd 2004, at 3:20 p.m. in Paris, lawyer Delva filed a complaint to the Tribunal de Grande Instance de Paris against Li Changchun on behalf of three Falun Gong practitioners, for being an accomplice to torture in the persecution of Falun Gong.

On June 28th, gunmen attacked Australian Falun Gong practitioners who were driving from the airport in Johannesburg. The car was hit at least five times. Of all the practitioners, the only one wearing clothing with the Falun Dafa insignia, David Liang, was shot, causing injuries to his foot. Police have opened a case and assigned an inspector to investigate.

After hearing that an Australian Falun Gong practitioner had been shot in South Africa by thugs hired by Chinese Vice President Zeng Qinghong, the practitioners taking part in the 2nd 2004 Scotland Car Tour felt extremely concerned over the latest attempt by Jiang and his accomplices to export their brutal persecution outside of China.

After hearing that gunmen in South Africa attempted to kill Falun Gong practitioners, Belgian practitioners went to the Chinese consulate in Brussels and strongly condemned Jiang’s act of terror. Shocked by news of the incident in South Africa, people at the consulate on business, especially the overwhelming majority of Chinese people, accepted the flyers distributed by the practitioners one after another.

UK practitioners held a peaceful appeal in front of the Chinese Embassy in London on June the 26th, which was World Anti-Torture Day. Practitioners demonstrated the Falun Gong exercises, sent righteous thoughts and called on society to pay attention to the brutal and illegal campaign of genocide being waged against Falun Gong in China.

A spokesperson for the Finnish Falun Dafa Association said in the appeal at the Chinese Embassy in Helsinki, “We believe that Zeng Qinghong and Bo Xilai are most likely behind this shooting incident. They are following closely Jiang Zemin’s orders to persecute and suppress Falun Gong by all means. The persecutors have committed terrible crimes against innocent people, both inside and outside China, and they are afraid that their crimes will be exposed to the world. This is a gross form of terrorism and persecution targeted directly at Falun Gong.”

June the 26th was World Anti-Torture Day. Latvian practitioners called for a focus on torture and the various abuses inflicted on Falun Gong by the Jiang regime in China. Additionally, they called for the end of the persecution by appealing at the embassy for five consecutive days. Passers-by supported our campaign, and showed compassion for practitioners' suffering in China.

For the “Anti-Torture Exhibition”, Falun Gong practitioners used live demonstrations and posters to show different methods of torture suffered by fellow practitioners in China. At the same time, other practitioners demonstrated the Falun Gong exercises. Practitioners introduced to the public, in English and Danish, the five-year long persecution of Falun Gong in China and the facts about Falun Dafa.

On the morning of Saturday the 19th of June 2004, the plight of Falun Gong practitioners in China was made known to many thousands of people in the historic city of Vienna. Tourists and local citizens alike came to understand more about this traditional cultivation system, as hundreds of practitioners from Europe and the Asia-Pacific region gathered in the city to hold a series of activities.

On the 16th of June, a fellow practitioner and I went to the Scottish Parliament in the morning. We talked to the security personnel and were told that we were free to obtain petition signatures outside. We then began distributing materials about Falun Dafa and requesting signatures. Parliament workers were very supportive. Some said, “Because I work for the government I am not allowed to sign any petition. But I do support you.”

Many Falun Dafa practitioners from Europe and the Asia Pacific region gathered in front of Austria’s Chinese Embassy to commemorate the hundreds of innocent people killed because they practise Falun Gong, a peaceful exercise and meditation practice based on three guiding principles: Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance.

On June the 11th, German practitioners appealed at the Chinese Consulate in Munich to urge the unconditional release of Beijing Dafa practitioner Chen Jie, who was a staff member of Beijing Youan Hospital’s Laboratory Centre. On June the 2nd 2004, she was illegally arrested at home again by Shijingshan District’s police, and sent to a brainwashing centre.

The beginning of June 2004 saw a visit from the Chinese President Hu Jintao to Poland, accompanied by Minister of Trade Bo Xilai, who has played a significant and extremely evil role in the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. Because of this, Bo Xilai has already been the subject of legal action in other countries that he has visited, including the United Kingdom, Germany and the United States. Polish practitioners also employed legal action to file a lawsuit against this human rights criminal.
