"I learned that Liu Feng is in dangerous situation; he has been detained for 10 month with no visitors permitted to see him. I hope that the Irish Embassy in China can send an official to check on his safety. On behalf of Liu Feng and Yang Fang I am now asking the Irish government for help to rescue them and speak out on their behalf."

"Baolian is only one of the thousands of unlawfully detained Falun Gong practitioners in China. The persecution in China continues and the number of deaths from torture increases. The Falun Dafa Information Centre has confirmed that around 780 practitioners have died, over 100,000 have been illegally sent to labour camps, more than 500 Falun Gong practitioners have been sentenced to prison terms of up to 18 years, and hundreds of thousands of practitioners have been illegally arrested and detained."

Since July 2003, activities have begun all over Germany to expose the evil persecution and collect signatures to rescue two Falun Gong practitioners who have been illegally arrested in China. Many German people who have signed the petition also took petition forms home to collect signatures from their families and friends.

During the four years of persecution by the Jiang regime, UK practitioner Bing HE’s brother, Jian, has been incarcerated in a labour camp in Wuhan for eighteen months without trial, and has been tortured many times for practising Falun Gong and peacefully appealing against the cruel persecution. Around 22 June 2003, he was arrested again to suffer further at the hands of the police. Two weeks later, Bing learned that his brother is struggling for his life in a hospital heavily guarded by the police.

UK practitioners have collected more than 12,000 signatures calling for Yongjie to be rescued immediately. A lot of people in England have expressed their support for this campaign. The British media, have widely reported on Yongjie’s case and pledged their support for the rescue activities initiated by her fiancé.

"I worry constantly about her safety. I read everyday about practitioners being subjected to severe physical, mental, and sexual abuse and I dread to think what she might be suffering. She is a sweet-natured person who always thinks of others before herself and would not hurt anyone. She has not committed any wrongdoings and poses no danger to anyone."

Since the Jiang regime began to viciously persecute Falun Gong in July 1999, many overseas Chinese practitioners have suffered because of their belief after returning to China. According to reliable information, Mr. Zheng Xujun, a visiting scholar at Liverpool University, was arrested in September 2001 and is now imprisoned at the Tuanhe Labour Camp in Beijing. Recently, Zheng’s friends were interviewed about his current situation.

It is not a coincidence that I was detained the same day that the Chinese Premier came to Thailand for a meeting. I have a very strong reason to believe that the Chinese Embassy in Bangkok is behind this matter. The Jiang Zemin regime in China has already pressurised many countries on the issue of Falun Gong.

Irish Falun Dafa Practitioners are appealing to all kind-hearted people to help their fellow practitioners who have been detained in China, by asking them to sign a petition letter and send it to the Chinese Embassy and the Irish Government. Here are some background details on their cases, and the petition letter.

In 2002, Liu Feng was illegally kidnapped in China, prior to his return to Ireland. He was then sent to Yaojia Labour Camp in Dalian. His current whereabouts is unknown. In the same year, Yang Fang was illegally prevented from boarding a plane returning to Ireland. She was forcefully taken back to her hometown in Shenyang Province. At present, the Irish government is paying close attention to the situation of Liu Feng and Yang Fang.

"Can you support our efforts to rescue these two students by writing to the Chinese Embassy in Ireland and urging them to release them, and also urging the Irish Embassy in China to let authorities there know the Irish people want them released?..With the support of the Irish government these two young students can be back in Ireland very soon."

Ms. Lin Wenrong, who is studying in Düsseldorf, Germany, went back to her hometown of Wuhan to visit her family and relatives before the Chinese Spring Festival. She was arrested because she is a Falun Gong practitioner and has been imprisoned in China since then.

Ms. Lin Wenrong returned to Wuhan from Germany on January 17 2003, to celebrate Spring Festival with her family. A few days later, she was arrested when she went to Tiananmen Square alone. She was then sent to a labour camp where Falun Gong practitioners are persecuted and brainwashed.

'Our information source reported that an internal document circulating in the Committee of Politics and Legislature of Wuhan City and the Chinese Public Security Bureau stated, “everyone in Wuhan City who has practised Falun Gong should be registered and asked to write a “Statement of Repentance”.” Those who do not deliver the statement will be sent to a brainwashing unit for forced reform.'

An online petition for the release of UK practitioners' family and friends persecuted in China has been created. The three victims include the sister of a UK practitioner, Ms. Zhu Baolian who was jailed for 4 years in Bejing simply for handing out leaflets which explained the truth about Falun Gong, and Zhu Yongjie, the fiancee of another practitioner, who was arrested in November 2002.

Lin Wenrong now lives in Germany. On 17 January 2003, she went to Wuhan to visit her family. She had originally arranged to come back to Germany in February, but she has not yet returned. According to inside information, Lin Wenrong has been detained and jailed by local police. Her place of detention is still unknown.

Because of Miss Liang's detention, her mother became very distressed and ill. She was taken to a hospital in March 2000. In May her illness became critical. Miss Liang's sister wrote to the Chinese authority asking them to release her sister so that she could see her mother in the UK but did not receive a reply. Their mother died on 7 June 2000.

Since initiating his persecution in July 1999, Jiang has extended it to western democratic countries. The following article covers 3 cases where relatives of Falun Gong practitioners have been detained in labour camps for their peacefully held beliefs.

We call for action from governmental organisations, media, human rights organisations and all good people to help safeguard the universal principles of “truthfulness, compassion and forbearance” and to help bring an end to this unprecedented disaster...Most importantly, we call for the release of all Falun Gong practitioners who are illegally detained.

The following text is from a petition calling for the urgent rescue of a Falun Dafa practitioner who is currently being persecuted in China. Her fiance is a PhD student at UMIST in Manchester, England.

He was again arrested in Zhengzhou City, Henan Province when he clarified the truth to people there. He was sent to a labour camp in Zhengzhou, where his is still detained.

Mr. Xu was expelled from Zhongshan University. He was later arrested and sentenced to 18-months in Tuanhe labour camp...his passport has since expired, leaving him with no way to obtain a visa and rejoin his wife in the Netherlands. His wife, Ms. Deng Qing commented; “The last time I saw him was two years ago, I don’t know when I will be able to have a reunion with him”.

After contacting its Embassy, the Consulate said that Mr. Xie’s name was on a list concerning Falun Gong...

With these few sincere words I wish to convey a message that Mr Zhiwun Wang should not be punished for being a good man.

I hope that Liu Feng and other practitioners in China can be freed from this dreadful persecution that has inflicted unimaginable sufferings on them.

Li Guozhen, is 86 years old. She used to live in Holland. After practising Falun Dafa, her serious arthritis that had troubled her for over 50 years disappeared. However, after going back to China, she has not been allowed return to Holland...She has also been arrested 7 times by police, 4 of them on Tiannamen Square where sShe was pushed on to the ground, kicked and beaten up with sticks by policemen.

My sister, Bao-Lian Zhu, is 36 years old and lives in Beijing, China. She was arrested on 15th December 2000 when she distributed Falun Gong leaflets.

Ms Dai’s mother died on 15 October after seeing her children's ordeals. Ms Dai and her two imprisoned sisters were denied their right to attend their mother’s funeral.

A Falun Gong practitioner's struggle to free her sister from a Chinese labour camp
