The next day my family came to talk to Sun Zhijun, a head doctor at the hospital, demanding my release. My family argued that I had never been mentally impaired. Sun Zhijun retorted that only those who had brought me to the hospital would be allowed to release me; family members were not eligible. Sun also claimed that I was "mentally hindered" and had to take medicine.

"Seeing that she refused to submit, they tied her to the back of a van and pulled her along to a broken down shed, where she was made to stand and not allowed to sleep unless she gave up her practice. They tied her arms to the back and hung her up, with her toes barely touching the ground. Adding to her agony, they shocked her with an electric baton. Ma collapsed four times, and she suffered from cardiac problems from the damage done by the high voltage electric baton. For six months afterwards, she was unable to lift up her arms."

For a whole 24 hours, a dozen perpetrators took turns interrogating me. They threatened me and also enticed me and used various methods in an attempt to make me reveal personal information about some Falun Gong practitioners inside and outside of China, as well as my relationship with them. They were ruthless and said, "Although you are a Canadian citizen, we are afraid of no one. If you don't give us what we want, we'll fix you."

Gao You then insulted me and the other practitioners. He said to me, "I will send for the two retarded guys in Xiangyang Village to rape you." He also said, "Never mind being a good person according to truthfulness, compassion and tolerance, why don't you sell your body?" He even said, "Raping someone's wife is a good skill -- I don't care, do whatever you want to do as long as you don't practise Falun Gong."

Zhang Shuquan, Ju Wenyang and Gao Qian were among the most vicious persecutors. Other policemen whose names we never learned were also involved. Wang Wenqi, the deputy director of the centre was responsible for issuing the orders. In addition to the use of the rubber batons, another torture instrument called "running" was also used. It consisted of a square metal frame about 1 x 1 foot in dimension, with 4 handcuffs made of heavy steel at the four corners.

"They stuffed a dirty towel into my mouth then started to drill into my armpits and behind my knees with a homemade drill that consisted of a hard plastic tube with four cuts at the end. They kept drilling this hard plastic tube into me for more than ten minutes while I was screaming with pain. When the policeman became tired he called in another assistant to keep drilling. The assistant thought I was dead, I heard him saying he could see the white bone through a hole they drilled under my arm."

Dun Laoghaire student Liu Feng was illegally arrested following his return to China during the 1999 Christmas break because he peacefully appealed against the persecution of Falun Gong. It is said that Liu Feng has been released but is currently in hospital. This only occurs when a labour camp detainee has been tortured or is close to death, and prison authorities intend to shift the blame away from themselves. Because of this, practitioners believe that Liu Feng is in serious danger.

69-year-old Zeng Lingwen is a retired professor from the Physics Department of Jilin University. Because she persisted in cultivating Dafa, she was abducted from home on Feb 9, 2002 [ date provided by Zeng Lingwen’s daughter in Canada and sent to a brainwashing class, where she was tortured as they attempted to force her to give up her practice. With her righteous belief, she was not moved at all. Authorities sent her to Changchun Heizuizi Forced Labour Camp for two years'' forced labour.

The detention centre director’s special skill is his use of electric shock batons. He once even ordered others to get three full lunch boxes of excrement and urine from the sewer. Then he pinched Fu Qimou's nose and ordered a male prisoner to force-feed him the excrement and urine. In the process of being force-fed, Mr. Fu Qimou's whole body was covered with excrement and urine. Swarms of flies were attracted to the filth and flew all around him. The scene of this torture was awful to witness.

These practitioners had suffered from inhuman tortures for persisting in their beliefs in Falun Gong. Their basic human rights had been deprived. Whenever they said that they would practice Falun Gong, then they would be beaten up. However, they never gave up. From their words and actions I came to better understand what compassion was. They selflessly helped others and never discriminated against us criminals, but only explained to us how to conduct ourselves in society.

On January 6, 2004, the Shulan City Court brought to trial four Dafa practitioners without due process. Two policemen dragged practitioner Fu Hongwei into the court, whose legs were seriously injured due to torture. Because family members saw through the attempt by the court to secretly hold a trial for the four practitioners, they immediately requested permission to be spectators. In the court, Fu Hongwei shouted: "Falun Dafa is good! Falun Dafa is the righteous law! Restore the rightful reputation of my Teacher!"

In the Shizishan Labour Camp for Drug Addicts in Wuchang District, Wuhan City, Hubei Province, the authorities have resorted to the basest methods to torture Dafa practitioners into giving up their belief. Police even instigated drug addicts to put heroin paste and other poisonous drugs into practitioners' food. A Huangshi City practitioner who exposed their crime publicly was sent to a mental hospital for further persecution, on police orders.

The prison guards kept telling her family members how Ms. Hu was "against the government" and how well the forced labour camp treated her by giving her injections of albumin and spending more than ten thousand Yuan on her in medical expenses, and so forth. At that time, Ms. Hu Yuehui could not remember anything at all, but only could say "It is not wrong to practise (Falun Gong) exercises!" Her family members thought what the guards said was true. As soon as her family members left, the guards placed her in a storage room in the hall where nobody could see her.

Since her body had been severely injured, her hands and feet started twitching involuntarily on the morning of July 17. She almost fainted twice. A criminal in the cell, Liu Xian, called the staff many times, and told them that Cui was in critical condition. The heartless policemen did not care and didn't bother to come. I stood by the door and yelled, "Someone is about to die. Do you care?" At that moment, I thought about the days that I spent with her. I saw her solid faith in Dafa. And I saw her compassion and kindness from cultivating Dafa. I started to cry.

The hospital authority did not ask me to sign any documents when they accepted me and rejected my repeated requests to see my family. Ten days after I was sent to the hospital the doctor told me, "The female labour camp has found your husband and asked him to sign your admission form, which he did, therefore, don't expect your husband to come here to take you back home. You have to stay here. If you don't break with Falun Gong, you will stay here until you have served your term. If you are not obedient, you will stay here forever till you die. In any event, your work unit is willing to pay the cost."

My family then paid the money to the labour camp in exchange for my mum's release. However, the labour camp officials didn't release my mother as they promised. Two weeks later, the local police notified us that my mum was at the police station and could be released to us for an additional amount of 3,000 yuan. My family was really angry at their blatant corruption, yet had no choice but to pay them the money in hopes of reuniting my mother with the family. Those local officials! They don't help or serve the local people but instead take every opportunity to extort money from good people for their personal gain.

My blood pressure was very high and my heart was not good as well. My brain wasn't getting enough blood supply, and I was often in a semi-conscious state. I even lost consciousness and was in a serious condition. My complexion was dark, my lips were blue and I was emaciated. I had extreme oedema in my feet and legs, so bad that I could not even wear shoes. My feet and arms became black and purple from serious blood capillary haemorrhages after my feet and arms were handcuffed for a long period of time.

I remember one day, Li Jirong, the head of a division who was elected as a representative to the 16th Party Congress due to her "achievements" in persecuting Falun Gong, told me, "Don't think this is just a labour camp. Our labour camp also has a death quota! Don't forget that you are still a Chinese citizen, so you still have to follow the laws of China. You are no different from anyone else."

The lawless policemen were enraged and brutally beat Mr. Xuan repeatedly. Wang Xinmin and Zhu Yongjun poured cold water on Mr. Xuan after beating him. When he awoke from unconsciousness, they beat him again. They continuously beat him until they killed him. When Mr. Xuan died, he was face down, lying on the cement floor covered with muddy water and blood.

On April 8, 2003, the Jinshui District Court put Song Xu on trial. Only a few government officials from the police, procuratorate, and legal system showed up. Under strong protests from Song Xu, they hurriedly proceeded with the trial. They held the trial secretly and did not allow him to have a lawyer or the ability to appeal. He was unjustly sentenced to 11 years. His family never received any notice from the court.

In the station, several policemen handcuffed Mr. Sun Baoyu behind the back and forced him to squat by a wall. Then they pressed a stool on his head, sat by his side, and put their feet on the stool. They tried to force him to tell his name, address, and the source of the Dafa truth-clarifying materials. He resisted the persecution with righteous thoughts and started to clarify the truth to them, and the policemen started to beat him. Several policemen kicked him in his chest, then took turns fiercely kicking his face and head. They slammed his head against the wall and it bounced back. This continued for more than 20 minutes.

Lu Jinhu covered Mr. Huang's head with a piece of cloth and violently jerked, rubbed, and shook Mr. Huang's head until he felt dizzy, vomited, and could not move his head and neck anymore because his cervical vertebrae were broken. He was then sent to the hospital in the forced labour camp. When practitioners in the "Enhanced Torture Team" spoke out for Mr. Huang, the police even denied the persecution and said that Mr. Huang was suffering from a bone spur.

The psychotropic drug Thorazine is an anti psychotic drug and used in the treatment of psychiatric patients. Thorazine may result in rather severe side effects, such as irreversible neurological disorder, global deterioration of mind and mental faculties, general dulling of awareness, emotional numbing, and cognitive dysfunction.

Mr. Yang Baochun's hand was often handcuffed to the head of one bed while the other arm was forcibly stretched out and cuffed to the head of another bed. Mr. Yang would be cuffed like this for one day and one night. He once wrote a letter to complain about the police atrocities being committed against him. Team leader, Wang Feng discovered the note and had dozens of inmates surround Yang Baochun and beat him with rubber batons, electric batons, and kick him. The beating and torture lasted for more than half an hour, resulting in wounds covering his entire body.

After long periods of being chained to a pole, the metal handcuffs cut deep into her flesh, and Ms. Liu's ankles and wrists were bleeding badly. To make the situation more difficult for her, her tormentors even prevented her from using toilet facilities. As the filth and odour became unbearable, they then wrapped her up in a big plastic bag and tied her up with ropes to prevent her from moving. To keep her quiet, one of the persecutors bashed her head with a rod. To humiliate her further, they stripped off her clothes one day, and tried to take a photograph of her.

That evening, the officer who arrested me rushed into the kindergarten with several other officers. My son never gave up on me, but instead of his mother, a group of strangers came for him. They used fine-sounding words to appear as if they were there to take care of the child. They used high sounding phrases such as a "political task," a "job requirement," etc. I could not imagine how my baby withstood their ploys.

When her family went to Xin Xiang Prison to locate her, the prison guard claimed that no such person was being detained at the prison. Her family returned to the detention centre and asked the Public Security Bureau about her whereabouts. The Public Security Bureau claimed that she had been transferred to Xin Xiang Prison. Her family then went to the relevant government agency to locate her. The officials there did not provide any information. Ms. Su Aihua disappeared four months ago and no one knows where she is.

"They locked my hands and feet in an iron frame. I went on hunger strike to protest this illegal persecution, and they force-fed me with a strong salt solution. I was detained there until June 21st and they still did not release me. I went on hunger strike again, and on June 24th, they force-fed me. Because I resisted force-feeding, they locked my hands and feet again in an iron frame, carried me to the side of the toilet, smeared the waste from the toilet on my chest and left a cloth soaked in urine and faeces on the side of my head."

The police had arrested me six times since 1999, and caused my family a great deal of pain. Before the police threw me into the forced labour camp, they forced my husband to divorce me against our will. Hence, I had no home to return to after I was released and I became homeless. Later I moved into my mother's home and stayed with her and my young brother for a short period of time, but the police frequently came and harassed us. Sometimes the police would even break into my mother's home in the middle of the night, causing my mother and brother to live in fear and terror. In addition, the police fired me from work in 1999, because I appealed for Falun Dafa, and thus cut off my income. Later, my former employer granted me 150 yuan every month which was only enough to pay for the most minimal living expenses in the urban area of Jilin City.

As clearly stipulated by code 41 of the Constitution and code 254 of the criminal law, no person or organisation has the right to penalise, indict, or file a complaint against any citizen that file appeals. Yet, the involved administration authorities unreasonably withheld my complaint and as a legal plaintiff, and I was personally subjected to persecution by them as well. They used vicious means to harm my body and nervous system, and they tried to hound me to death or to the point that I suffered mental collapse. To quote their words, a person like me must "either be killed or made mentally disordered." It was not me who is the criminal, but these people of the concerned administration authority.

When I heard that Liu Chengjun was admitted to the Public Security Hospital located in Jilin Province, I became very anxious. I remembered my own persecution experiences, having spent just four days in that hospital. I personally saw how the aim of the so-called "hospital" was basically not to cure or help Falun Dafa practitioners but instead was exactly the opposite. The persecution of Falun Gong practitioners was taken a step further there. I thoroughly came to understand the essence of the evil authorities in their attempt to create a news blockade, the intensity of their aggravated persecution, and their fabrication of lies.

In the last four years, our family of five people have been detained and tortured numerous times just because we practise Falun Gong and are letting the public know about the illegal persecution against us which has harmed so many innocent people. Jiang Zemin's attack on Falun Dafa has broken my family apart. Even my friends and relatives are terrified of being implicated simply for know us and dare not contact or approach us. We hope that people around the world help bring Jiang to justice in the international court and end the persecution against innocent people!

They tied me on the Tiger Bench [a small iron bench that is approximately 20 cm. tall] and beat me, hitting my ankles, legs, hands, head, and feet with sticks. My ankles were so swollen that they were as thick as my legs. They also covered my head with a plastic bag, and tied it around my neck to threaten to suffocate me. They did not open it until I had almost suffocated to death. Then, once I got my breath, they tied it again. They also clamped my fingers with two wooden sticks. I was in so much pain that I was shaking badly. After they got tired of beating me, they went out to have a tea break. After they came back, they continued beating me. Just like this, they beat me from morning until evening.

To cover up their crime, the camp authorities sent Li's body to Jiutai City Hospital. When his wife and relatives came to make the funeral arrangements, the camp authorities publicly lied by claiming that Mr. Li had suffered a cardiac arrest and died in Jiutai Hospital. Mrs. Li and his relatives are still unaware of the real cause of his death.

After she was brought back to Wuhan, the police sentenced her to two years of forced labour using some ambiguous charges. During that time, she was transferred around to many different places, such as the detention centre, the brainwashing class, and the labour camp. She experienced many types of torture such as brutal beatings, long-term sleep deprivation, being hung up in the air by her wrists with her feet off the floor for a long time, being forced to do physical labour after her hunger strikes, being tied onto the "dead person's bed"[1] for a long time, force-feeding, and other forms of torture.

He remained unconscious for an entire day following an inability to eat or drink for the past twenty-five days. He is a patient at Central Hospital, located within the Jilin Provincial Forced Labour Camp, where for many days he has been officially classified as "life at risk." Jilin City Prison has agreed to temporarily release him for medical treatment, but as he is a registered resident of Nong-an County, that would put him under the jurisdiction of the Nong-an County Police System, and they have refused to accept him because they are afraid to accept responsibility for his life. Consequently, the prison voided his medical parole forms, and Liu Chengjun has not been allowed to go home.

Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Xie Guiying, who lived in Huainan City, Anhui Province, was tortured to death in October 2000. Her mother, Xin Gonghua, was devastated but had nowhere to turn to for help. Three years have passed since then and all she could do was to tell everyone about her daughter's tragic death. In food markets, shopping plazas, residential areas, on the street sides, from her friends to complete strangers, the public is also spreading the facts about how practitioner Xie Guiying was tortured to death. Below is the story that Xie Guiying's mother related about how her daughter was tortured to death.

After ten days of this, they no longer asked me anything, but routinely tied me up very tightly as soon as I had finished working each day. When I was half-hung, there was no point of support for my whole body other than my tiptoes. This time, after tying me for several days, they said they would let me go to sleep as long as I did not awaken earlier than they did. One day, I was beaten just because I had gotten up before them to fold my blanket. Another time, because I had been caught talking, the person on duty and the prisoners stuffed a dirty rag in my mouth, sealed it with tape, then beat my face and mouth, which became red and swollen. The person on duty also threw some hard-soled boots at my head.

Several police officers held him down and pried his mouth open. During the force feeding some people also tickled his armpits in order to force him to comply. The three practitioners appealed the unjust sentence. The Wancheng district court did not hold any new trial but soon issued an order to "maintain the original judgment." The Wancheng District Court did not follow Chinese law in sentencing these Falun Dafa practitioners; instead, it followed the order from Jiang's regime and sentenced the practitioners at will.

They could not find any place to insert the needle. Also, the blood vessels in my legs collapsed, and the blood could not circulate properly. Even though I was covered in bruises, the nurse still said, "No problem." When the insertion of the IV needle felt like a knife digging into my flesh, they would find another place on my body to insert the needle. Some nurses said to me: "If you pull the tube out again, we will immediately put it back. If you pull out the needle, we will reinsert it straight away." All the torture was aimed at forcing me to stop my hunger strike, which I had undertaken to resist the unjust persecution.

I could hear my teeth grinding from pain and had difficulty breathing. Then I completely lost consciousness. I did not know when I was taken down. Later, I felt someone was pushing my mouth and chest, moving my arms, and heard a voice, "Be careful! Normally when we have a couple of them here, it was easy to cover it up even if one or two died. This time we've got a dozen here. It might be difficult to stop the news from leaking." I could not open my eyes, no matter how hard I tried.

Whenever the practitioners acted to resist the persecution, the vicious guards in Tuanhe would violently beat them. The guards would yell, "Whoever resists the transformation [brainwashing] will be beaten up! This is the place that administers the wishes of the dictatorship. We are not afraid that you do not give in." Each time the beatings were reported to the labour camp director or higher government officials, they would always say, "Ah! The guards are just of such low quality. Would anybody with good character come to work in a labour camp?"

After practising Falun Dafa, Ms. Cui regained her health as she was cured of chronic diseases. She also transformed into a gentle woman and now gets along well with her family and neighbours. Due to Ms. Cui's steadfast belief in practising Falun Gong, after July 20th, 1999, local police extorted money from her, confiscated her home and took away her freedom. News about this situation has spread all over town. Everyone knows about it. Upon hearing the truth about this situation kind-hearted people all felt an injustice had been done to Ms. Cui and her family.

After 4 months of abuse, Mr. Zhao became very weak and he needed two people to support him when he walked. He developed open sores around his rectum and he lost all feeling in his legs, indicating nerve damage. In early September, he could no longer urinate or defecate properly. He was unable to eat for 20 days and was in critical condition. On September 30, the guards requested medical treatment for him and quickly sent him back home.

These incidents are the exact manifestation of Jiang Zemin's policy of "defame their reputation, bankrupt them financially, destroy them physically" in his persecution of Falun Gong. Such deep pain is unimaginable, unless one personally experiences it. One will remember this for the rest of one's life.

This is how Jiang Zemin's Regime came up with many of these "Repentance Statements" and "Fingerprints." They forced practitioners to sign their names on those "Repentance Statements" against their will. Most of those statements are fabricated by the police to meet quotas set by the Jiang Regime and avoid being implicated themselves..

Because I did not give up the belief of "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance," I was cruelly tortured on four separate occasions in one year. Later I was transferred to another prison section. This section used the excuse of military training to physically punish and torment steadfast practitioners. We were woken up at 5:00 a.m. every morning and forced to stand facing a wall for a long period of time while all other prisoners were still sleeping.

They then tied him to a chair and extended his term for three months. The 11th rib on the right side of his body was fractured. He was in excruciating pain whenever he moved his body even a little bit. He was forced to sit in the chair motionless for seven days and nights, wearing shackles. As a result, his legs were swollen and he had great difficult walking. The labour camp did not allow Yu Shuang's family to visit him, fearing that their crimes might be exposed.

The Security Department then detained Mr. Zuo. About ten days later he was tortured severely. A policeman took him to the People's Hospital in Daqing City for an examination and returned him to the Security Department again afterwards. After that, Mr. Zuo was secretly sent to the Suihua Forced Labour Camp in Heilongjiang province, a place notorious for the severe persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. Mr. Zuo's health has deteriorated as a result of the abuse that he has suffered.
