On September 13th, 2006, police arrested me and interrogated me. I was only allowed to sleep one hour every day. After several days, I was traumatised and exhausted. I could see no hope of getting out. I wanted the persecution to end, so I made up a false oral confession. After that I just fabricated things as I thought of them and gave the police several other false oral confessions. I wrote that after I was released I would mobilise other Falun Gong partitioners to hand in Falun Gong materials and would secretly investigate those who made Falun Gong materials. Now I solemnly declare that the two guarantee statements I wrote in September 2006 are null and void.

In the forced labour camp two male guards attempted to force me to write the "three statements" to renounce Falun Dafa. Yao Fuchang went crazy and shocked my temples with a newly equipped, high-energised electric baton. I was shocked so severely that I fell down twice. He shouted crazily, "I am an evil spirit! I came to torture you!" He made me squat for one day and one night. As I still refused to write the statements, he handcuffed me behind my back with the smallest handcuffs and hung me from the bedpost. My arms were raised high, and my lower body had to squat. It was extremely painful.

In Guizhou's Zhongba forced labour camp, Falun Gong practitioners are forced to perform slave labour for long periods of time. Food rations are poor quality and scanty. Imprisoned practitioners work from 8:00 a.m until 3:00 a.m. the next morning. Sometimes, practitioners have to work all night, and the same routine continues the next day. All this time, prison guards and inmates constantly beat practitioners. The extended work hours and prolonged sleep deprivation damaged my brain. Now, whenever I think hard, I feel dizzy and get a headache.

Ms. Song Wenjuan called out, "Falun Dafa is great! Falun Dafa is a righteous way!" Guard Wang Na immediately dragged her off to be tortured. I later learned that the guards had tortured her with electric shocks to the point of unconsciousness. Ms. Sun Yanfang refused to renounce Falun Dafa. Guard Liu Baibing summoned her and brutally tortured her until she could not move her wrists. In spite of this, they still forced her to work. Because of the repeated torture, she has rows of scars behind her knees to this day.

"Most of the people imprisoned in Gaoyang Forced Labour Camp were Falun Gong practitioners. There are also some non-practitioner detainees there, but not many. The atmosphere is especially intense. As soon as a person enters the camp, he/she feels it is ghastly and fearful, causing one to gasp for breath. I lived on the first floor. Five people live in each room. The window was nailed shut and the room was not ventilated. The smell was very strong from the toilets. We often heard guards beating and abusing people on the second floor. There were also the pitiful cries as the practitioners were beaten."

Practitioner Ms. Lei Xiuhua is from Inner Mongolia. During the past several years, she was detained multiple times, and her family was fined a great deal of money. As a result, her son was forced to quit school. Her daughter was admitted to a university, but couldn't go since they couldn't afford the tuition. Ms. Lie was sent to forced labour camps twice and detained for a total of two years. She suffered various tortures. She was whipped with power cords and pinched on the upper portion of her thighs.

On October 23, 2000, I went to Beijing to appeal to higher authorities on behalf of Falun Dafa with three other practitioners. At 10:00 p.m., we were arrested in a hotel. Our cash was also confiscated. When one practitioner walked toward the doors to leave the lobby, police officers caught him, pushing him to the ground and beating him. The practitioner's nose was bleeding, and his clothes were torn. We were detained and the other practitioners protested the detention. Officer Feng poured boiling water on them, and they were scalded badly. Later on we were detained in Zhangshi Forced Labour Camp. We worked as slaves until 10:00 p.m. or later.

In February 2004 National Security Division guards raided my home and sent me to a detention centre. I held a hunger strike the following day to protest the persecution. Guards told a doctor to force-feed me. I refused to cooperate with them and they didn’t succeed the first time. During the second attempt, agent Liu called the city 610 Office and said, "We can’t force-feed Gao Deyu. She may be dying!" Zhang at the 610 Office said, "Go ahead and force-feed her! I’ll back you up if she dies from it." I lost consciousness from the pain. I faintly recall them feeding me with something, and it smelled like drugs. After the feeding, they pulled out the tube, and the 2.2 ft. tube was dripping with blood.

On October 27th, 2004, several police officers from the National Security Team arrested me off the street. They had previously broken into my home and searched it when no one was at home. This time they "showcased" searching my home. One police officer carried a video recorder; one had a conventional camera and a third one had a digital camera. They sent me to Nanning City No. 1 Detention Centre. Inmates have to do daily slave labour until late at night. We were forced to make shoe insteps. If we could not finish the quota, we would have to work overnight. Many times we could only sleep one to two hours. The police agents often arrived with batons in hand to check the product quality. Some police officers poured water and salt on our injuries after they had beaten us.

Ms. Huang Boazhen, 61, suffered from hyperthyroidism, high blood pressure, and other illnesses before she started practising Falun Dafa. After she began the practice in 1996, all of her diseases went away. Ms. Huang continued cultivating in Falun Dafa even after the vile CCP began to wildly persecute Falun Gong on July 20th 1999. At the beginning of 2005, Ms. Huang gave copies of the Nine Commentaries to students, and was reported by security guards. She had to leave home to avoid being arrested. Due to the long-term pressure of the persecution, her former diseases returned, and Ms. Huang died on February 1st 2005.

I am a Falun Dafa practitioner living in Fushun City. In July 1999, all the newspapers started defaming Falun Dafa and Teacher Li [Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Dafa]. In October when I went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa, I was arrested and sent to the Dashagou Detention Centre in Qingyuan. In the evening, the warden instructed two inmates to tie the cords of a power generator around my wrists, and then started the machine to torture me with high-voltage electricity. Next they tied the cords around my ankles and shocked me. My whole body became contorted and I fell onto the floor, but the inmates pulled me up and continued the torture.

My name is Yin Shuyun and I am a 49-year-old Falun Dafa practitioner. On February 8th, 2000, I travelled to Tiananmen Square, Beijing with five other practitioners to peacefully appeal against the persecution. I was forcefully arrested. A policeman grabbed my hair roughly and beat me up. I was forced to run in the snow barefoot and stand in cold water for an hour. I was also forced to press large cubes of ice against my face, before being hung up with handcuffs and brutally beaten. While the police beat me up, they shouted that it was time to slaughter the pig. I was severely frozen and my face was also beaten to the extent of distortion and my entire body was bruised and injured.

Around May and June 2001, when I was first detained in the Shayang Forced Labour Camp, the guards forcibly gave Falun Dafa practitioners injections, using the excuse of "protection from typhoid fever." The guards arranged for some hired thugs to wait in a police vehicle. If anyone did not yield, they took him in the vehicle to another location and separately carried out more brutal persecution. I was forced to have an injection. However, the prisoners who monitored us did not receive injections at all, which showed that the guards tortured Falun Gong practitioners with drugs.

In August, 2001, I was detained for what turned out to be four years at Yang'ai Forced Labour Camp in China, for distributing leaflets exposing the persecution. In the beginning, I worked more than twelve hours every day wearing a prison uniform. I was then transferred to the Eighth Branch in 2005. For every practitioner there were two inmates assigned to monitor them closely. The group of three stayed in a single room with the windows tightly shut. Practitioners were watched around the clock. We were not allowed to leave the room, even for meals.

I was detained at Zhongba Forced Labour Camp in Guizhou from January 9th, 2003, to July 14th, 2005. During that time, I was brutally tortured by the camp guards. Their methods of torturing are extremely brutal. The following are examples: They kicked my face with the bottoms of their shoes; they hit me until I fell to the ground and then stepped on me. After I got up, they hit and kicked me until I fell again; they twisted my hands backward. Two persons, one at each side, blocked my feet with theirs. Then, they suddenly pressed on my back and pushed me to the ground. My head hit the ground and bled; they used cigarette butts to burn my palms, creating blisters.

The team leader bound my legs with a rope. Zhang Chunguang tried to hold me still by planting her feet on my legs and forcibly gave me an injection. Like a beast, she beat prisoners at will. In mid-winter, she stripped me of my insulated coat and hung it on a line, and for two days in a row forced me to stand in the cold outside the room. She humiliated me by taking pictures of me holding a black carton. One time my required fitness exercise movements were not quite up to par, so I was dragged into an open area and savagely beaten by police officers.

I started practising Falun Dafa in 1996, and benefited physically and mentally from the practice. I held the position of manager at a well-known foreign company in Beijing prior to the regime's ban of Falun Dafa. I worked hard and my achievements were outstanding. My superiors had great trust in me. Later, during the persecution against Dafa practitioners, my company forced me to resign due to pressure from the Communist regime. The police arrested me five times because I appealed for Dafa, did the Falun Gong exercises in public and exposed the persecution. My most traumatic incidents took place after the last arrest. My experiences are a demonstration of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) fanatic wickedness and evilness.

When I was in the forced labour camp, because I refused to renounce Dafa, I was handcuffed behind my back twice. Police used high voltage electric batons to shock me and at the same time beat and kicked me. They also pulled my hair. The brutal handcuffing behind my back torture severely injured my arms. It took over a year for my right arm to heal. My left arm was even more injured. In the evenings it hurt so much that I could not fall asleep or turn. I could only rely on the practitioner next to me to help me to turn over during the night.

On December 13th, 2002, police and officials, searched my house and confiscated even the money given to the children as a New Year gift! They took me to Youyi Road Police Station. I was sent to the detention centre that night. I was held in the detention centre for twenty days and was sentenced to a year and a half in a labour camp. I suffered inhuman abuse and torture in the labour camp. I refused to cooperate with the persecutors, refused to do the "homework," "weekly reports," and to shout propaganda. I was forced to sit from morning until 10:00 p.m., and received all types of corporal punishments. I was released on May 6th, 2004.

On October 31str, 2001 when I was distributing leaflets exposing the persecution, policeman Wang Xiaodong saw me and arrested me. Officials from the County Public Security Bureau sentenced me to one year in a forced labour camp and sent me to the Heizhuizi Labour Camp in Changchun. The wardens there appeared decent on the surface but behind the scenes they did evil things with utmost cruelty and with no mercy at all. Practitioners were forced to work for sixteen or seventeen hours a day. If they couldn't finish the job or refused to cooperate, the wardens shocked them with electric batons. My husband was brutally persecuted in the Jiutai Labour Camp and his former liver disease relapsed. He passed away on November 28th, 2004.

I am a 64-year-old resident of Heilongjiang Province. I practise Falun Dafa and live according to the principles of "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance," so I have been arrested, detained and tortured on numerous occasions ever since the Jiang Zemin regime began the brutal persecution of Falun Gong on July 20th, 1999. These torture methods include being "dragged by five horses" in five different directions, electrocution, "tiger bench" and being hung by the handcuffed wrists for long periods of time

After fellow practitioners and I were sentenced in 2001, I suffered all sorts of physical and mental persecution in Tiebei Prison, such as being locked up in a small cell that was like a steam box, being hung up in the air by hand cuffs, and continuously forced to undergo brainwashing. I was cuffed and hung up naked outdoors for the whole night, while it was snowing. The next morning, several policemen (the temporary guards always served as hatchet men) practised boxing and kicking me in turn. A police officer surnamed Wang who claimed to be an instructor and another unknown police officer beat me black and blue with a club and then brought one big and one small electric baton to shock the sensitive parts on my body, until the power ran out.

I am a practitioner who was sentenced to five years in February 2002 because I spoke to people about the facts of Falun Dafa. Seven criminal inmates monitored me at night. I heard loud screams from the Strictly Monitored Team next door. The screams were horrifying. The criminals told me, "Somebody is on the Stretching Bed now. They stretch his legs and arms. That person will either die or be disabled if they keep stretching him for a long time. Jilin Prison is extremely brutal."

They tortured me on the "death bed" for five days. My body was seriously weakened and I was hard to recognise. I carried very heavy shackles. When they started to force-feed me, the criminals all came together. They consider torture and killing entertainment. The prison police really enjoyed the criminals force-feeding me. The criminals knocked me down and held me down firmly. Then six or seven criminals used their thumbs to firmly press my ribs, they pinched my crotch, stepped on my hands, twisted my belly and forcefully squeezed my head. The criminals pried open my mouth in turn, inserted the plastic bottle into my mouth and corked my mouth with a toilet cleaning rag. Then another criminal would take a turn to force-feed me. I nearly suffocated several times.

At noon on March 1st, 2000, a group of people, one after the other, came to our home three times. They intimidated, threatened, and mentally tortured us. My husband died the next day. On July 8th, 2005, Party personnel broke into my house. They ransacked all Dafa related materials and all valuables in my home. They cursed and beat me, a nearly 60-year-old woman. They injured my legs and pulled out several clumps of hair from my head. They detained me for 42 days. My not-yet-10-year-old grandson was left with nobody to look after him.

Along with several other practitioners, I was sent to Miyun County Detention Centre. At first, we were all marked with numbers on our bodies because no one would tell the police his or her name and address. They took our pictures and then we were taken away, one by one, to what seemed like an old office building. While passing by a hallway, I saw a door that was half open and inside the room a policeman was sitting on a chair. A lady in her 30s was sitting on the floor with her hands handcuffed behind her back. Right by her side, a five-year-old girl was sitting on her knees on the floor, and both of her little hands were handcuffed behind her back. The police even persecuted such a young child!

As I was repeatedly locked up for extended periods of time I suffered much mental and physical damage. I was sent to the City Mental Hospital. Doctors and nurses force-fed me and shocked me with electric batons. Manager Zhao shocked me with electric batons three times. Another male doctor also shocked me with electric baton three times. They force-fed me unknown medications, injected me with unknown drugs, and further shocked me with electric batons. This abuse was carried on for almost two months. As a result, I became mentally disordered and temporarily lost my ability to speak and was overcome with fear. It took me a long time to recover after my release.

My name is Rao Mianhua. I'm 41 years old now. In October, police dragged me to their police car and again took me to Shizishan Forced Labour Drug Addicts Rehab Camp in Wuhan City. The leaders in that camp got a 10,000-yuan bonus if they "reformed" a Falun Gong practitioner. Hence, they treated practitioners very cruelly. Practitioners were forced to take cold water showers in all seasons, summer or winter. On one occasion, the section head locked up all of the practitioners together. Our hands were all cuffed together behind our backs. After that, one by one, we were taken to the guard chamber to be shocked with electric batons. I felt numb after being shocked.

During my detention, I witnessed many instances of police brutality towards practitioners. In July 2004, guards directed four drug addicts to torture 57-year-old Mr. Xu Shaoan. They beat him and used sewing needles to stab his fingers and toes. He was injured in many places and lost consciousness. After he came to, they continued to torture him. Police mixed drugs into his food and tied up his hands. He could not stand up. He was only allowed to be in a sitting position. His face became disfigured due to torture. He was finally released after being tortured until he was mentally traumatised.

The Tianjin City Women's Forced Labour Camp is a hell on earth. Before the No. 5 Division was enlarged, many Falun Gong practitioners were cruelly persecuted there. During the autumn and winter seasons, the cells are very cold and damp. A new detainee is often so frightened that she cannot fall asleep at night. There were heaters in the cells, but they were never allowed to be turned on unless outside visitors or government officials came to inspect the camp. Instead, only the stove in each cell was allowed to burn a small amount of coal. The camp didn’t give any wood for lighting a fire, so the practitioners had to use their wooden stools instead.

A woman who remained steadfast in her practice and beliefs endured a series of brutal tortures. Police tied her up and suspended her off the ground for three days. Doctors injected her with poison. Her body weight fell from 195 pounds to 78 pounds. Her non-practitioner husband was not spared either. The police poured boiling water on him during interrogation.

"I was sent to the Tiebei Detention Centre in Changchun. As soon as I entered the cell, the police told the prisoners, "Take good care of him for me." After that, three to four inmates pushed me to the ground and beat and kicked me. They then pulled off all my clothes and kicked me again towards the wall. I fell down to the ground and could not get up, but they continued kicking me. My arms and legs began to bleed. The cut on my thigh bled profusely. The detained practitioners were constantly monitored by the prisoners, and randomly beaten and cursed."

On the evening of September 30th, 2003, I was sitting in meditation. Suddenly a group of policemen rushed in from downstairs and frantically knocked on the door. My husband asked, "Why are you making an arrest?" The police simply did not pay attention to him. They arrested me and another fellow practitioner and took us away in a police car. On the third morning of my detainment, the police opened the cell door. They brutally handcuffed us and pushed us on a tour bus. After getting off, a nurse gave us injections. We asked, "What’s this?" "Vaccine," was her reply. (Actually it was a drug that impairs the nervous system). Two practitioners lost consciousness right away. I was transferred to hospital for force-feeding. I almost suffocated to death.

I was arrested and taken to Changchun Public Security Bureau. A policeman holding an object I couldn’t identify came up behing me. He used that object to punch the point between the thumb and the index finger of my left hand. A purple swelling the size of a ping pong ball appeared on the back of my left hand. Then they handcuffed me behind my back, lifted my hands (while handcuffed) over my head to the front, pressed my upper body toward my legs, and cruelly pressed my head until my face touched my thighs. Two policemen fiercely struck my back with their fists, while my chest and abdomen were pressed against the iron rod. All this caused me excruciating pain. Every second I felt out of breath.

After fellow practitioners and I were sentenced in 2001 after appealing for justice for Falun Dafa on Tiananmen Square, I suffered all sorts of physical and mental persecution in Tiebei Prison, such as being locked up in a small cell that was like a steam box, being hung up in the air by hand cuffs, and continuously forced to undergo brainwashing. We also underwent suspicious and very detailed physical check-ups, but were not aware of the real purpose for this.

I am a 64-year-old Falun Dafa practitioner. The Haidian District Detention Centre brutally beat Falun Gong practitioners. My face was beaten until it was distorted beyond recognition, with wounds covering my entire face. Anyone who saw my face at that time would have been horrified. My chest was also beaten so badly that I had difficulty breathing and could not stop coughing. Coughing caused me to double over in severe pain. To further torture Falun Gong practitioners, the Detention Centre created a device that had a sharp side pointing up regardless how it was placed on the ground. The sharp edge was about 4 centimetres (less than 0.39 inches) high. When I was forced to sit on this torture stool, the sharp edges cut into my flesh and hurt severely.

The persecution of Falun Gong has lasted for seven years. During the seven-year period, I have been driven into exile for four years while my husband has been imprisoned for four years. My underage daughter has been living a very hard life on her own for all these years. In order to try to arrest me, the 610 office often harasses my mother and my mother-in-law. On June 2, 2003, a group of people who claimed to be policemen raided my mother's home one more time. My mother, who is over 70 years old, was living by herself. The policemen asked my mother to surrender me and threatened to arrest her if she refused. She was so worked up and frightened that she suffered a mental collapse.

"When I was incarcerated in mental hospitals and labour camps for practising Falun Gong, my mental strength was extremely low due to the prolonged persecution. Six people I knew had died as a result of the persecution. Many of my friends were sentenced to labour camps and prisons. Countless numbers of my friends were fired from their workplaces, threatened by the police and sent to brainwashing sessions for practising Falun Gong."

On March 9th, 2006, I went to Jiuzhan, planning to distribute several copies of "The Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party," but I was arrested before I distributed any copies. A few policemen dragged me to the Jiuzhan Police Station. After torturing me in various horrific ways, the police started a new torture. The three of them each used a cigarette lighter to burn my fingertips and toes. Seven of my fingertips were badly burned. My left big toe was burned badly. My fingernails turned black. To this day my fingertips have not healed. They continue to discharge pus and blood. The pain is unbearable, but at the time of the torture the pain was even worse. I felt I'd be better off dead.

Over five years ago I was detained at the Huairou detention centre in Beijing. Because I would not tell them my name, the ward threatened to send me to northwest China and that I would never come home again if I refused to tell my name. Only now do I realise that this was not just a threat, it was for sure. None of the arrested practitioners would tell their names and addresses, since we knew from classified documents of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) that whenever a Falun Gong practitioner appealed, the spouse of the practitioner would be fired and fined 8000 to 10000 yuan, and from the officials in his/her workplace to the police department and police substation, all would be punished.

The persecution my husband suffered was just brutal. They began at the knees, whipping upward until they reached the neck and shoulders. Belt buckles were used to beat my husband's back. He was soaked in blood and sweat and his flesh was raw. The pain was unimaginable. Then they asked, "Do you still say you cultivate?" My husband answered "yes." Then, they continued to beat him brutally. My husband's entire back, buttocks, and thighs were one bloody mess. All flesh was exposed, and his entire body was covered with blood. The prisoner kicked my husband's left side very hard and his rib broke. The pain had passed the level he could tolerate. He had no other choice left and against his will, he said in a low voice, "Will not cultivate."

Recently, the knowledge that organs have been harvested from live Falun Gong practitioners in the concentration camps in Mainland China was exposed. I recalled that, even as they brutally tortured me, they were still very concerned about my health. It was only because the officers in the Custodial Station wanted to harvest my organs that they made such painstaking efforts to treat me "well." I totally refused to cooperate with them. I resisted the force-feeding, the drug infusions, and the blood and urine testing. In this way I narrowly escaped being killed in the concentration camp.

Mr. Wang Jiangguo and his wife, Ms. Zhao Qiumei, from Jilin City were arrested on March 2nd 2006, by Nanjing Police Substation officers in the Chuanying District led by Tan Xinqiang. Ms. Zhao Qiumei was later sentenced to one year of forced labour. Mr. Wang Jiangguo was tortured to death on April 10th at the Jilin City Detention Centre after he was savagely force-fed and tortured in an attempt to extort a confession from him. He was 30 years old when he was tortured to death. On April 13th, a memorial service was planned in his home, where people could come to express their condolences.

My name is Zhang Lixin and I am 63 years old. I was a doctor. Because I practised Falun Gong, I was sentenced to ten years and detained in the Jilin Women's Prison from November 2002 up to today. The prison officials told me, "All Falun Gong practitioners who come here must write "three statements" (to renounce Falun Dafa). No sleep is allowed if these are not finished. If you still refuse to write, all prisoners will be forced to do long-term standing with you. You will be beaten and verbally abused by the prisoners until you write all three statements." I patiently told them, "Falun Gong teaches one to cultivate the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance. We are innocent."

"Since March 2006, the secret Sujiatun death camp run by agents of the CCP was exposed, and the whole world was shocked. Since 2001, Thousands of practitioners were held at this camp. Most of them have had their hearts, kidneys, corneas and skin removed and sold for profit before they were taken to the crematorium to destroy the evidence! Sujiatun is only one of 36 camps in China. Investigation by the World Organisation to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (WOIPFG) shows that live organ harvesting and sale has happened and still is happening in many places in China including Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Shandong Province, Liaoning Province and Guangdong Province."

Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhao Yuqin, 53, from Dadong District in Shenyang City, Liaoning Province has been illegally arrested, detained and sent to brainwashing centres for repeated persecution by personnel of the wicked Chinese Communist Party. She was forced to become destitute and homeless to avoid arrest. After enduring years of harassment, surveillance and persecution for a long time, Zhao Yuqin died on February 24th 2006.

They tried all sorts of things against practitioners in Jinan Women's Prison over the past several years. Once practitioners enter the prison, they are detained in the enforcement division first, and forced to write "three statements¹" to give up the practice and defame Dafa. If they refuse, they are deprived of sleep and the use of the toilet. Food is also restricted. They are forced to squat, to stand for extended periods, or put into solitary confinement. Guards and inmates armed with sticks take turns to watch practitioners. When practitioners move a little bit, they are beaten. A practitioner was once forced to squat down for more than 40 days, and was unable to stand up afterwards.

The police started cursing, "When the Chinese Communist Party says that you are wrong, you are wrong, even if you are not. We can tell you that our superiors have instructed us that if you are not 'transformed' ideologically, then you will be transformed by fire (cremation). Even if we kill you, you will die in vain, and we will get our bonus." Seduced by money and succumbing to orders from above, they started savagely torturing Zhang Xiangjun. They tied him to the tiger bench and used seven electric batons to shock him simultaneously.

This time it was her railway system employer that actively followed the CCP's persecution policies. Having not paid Ms. Huang her salary for a long time, her employer ordered her to return her already-issued salaries. When she arrived at her workplace, Public Security officers who had been waiting there for a long time immediately arrested her against her protests. She was then sent to the Liaoning Province Women's Prison. There were stories that she was severely tortured, but later it was difficult to get any information about her from the prison.
