Mr. Zhang Hui Died in April as Result of Torture at Gongzhuling Prison in Jilin Province

Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhang Hui, 30, died as a result of brutal torture he suffered at Gongzhuling Prison in Jilin Province. When the doctor tried to perform surgery on Zhang Hui in April 2009, he saw that Zhang Hui's stomach was black, which did not allow for surgery. Zhang Hui later passed away in the hospital. The prison spared no effort in covering up information related to Zhang Hui's death. Zhang Hui was savagely abused for a long time at the prison and his organs sustained serious injuries. The officials denied his request for medical parole and only notified his aunt to come to the prison for a visit when it was already too late for medical treatment. -
Mr. Qian Shiguang Tortured to Death in Brainwashing Centre
2009-06-15After Mr. Qian Shiguang was arrested and taken to the Gongjiawan Brainwashing Centre in May 2005, he was sentenced to forced labour. Guards often hung him up by his arms and beat him. This caused severe injuries, including damage to his back and spine, to the point where he walked bent over at a 90-degree angle all the time. By the end of August 2008, Mr. Qian's condition had worsened significantly under the long-term mistreatment. His personal "watcher" Jia Honglin reported that he had not eaten anything in ten days, but the guards ignored it. Mr. Qian was very pale and thin as a skeleton, and he was clearly dying. He died on September 9th, 2008. -
Ms. Xu Deqin Arrested; Her Husband Dies from Stress
2009-06-15On March 28th, 2003, police stormed into Ms. Xu Deqin's home to arrest her in Weifang City, Shandong Province. They ransacked the place and took many valuable items. Ms. Xu's husband was extremely stressed by such a violent incident, causing him to suffer heart failure. The police released Ms. Xu after extorting 5,000 yuan from her family. Unfortunately, her husband never recovered, and died on May 11th, 2003. -
The Persecution and Death of a Good Man, Mr. Lu Yuping
2009-06-14Mr. Lu Yuping, 50, was a Falun Gong practitioner from Daxinganling, Heilongjiang Province. Because of his belief in Truth-Compassion-Forbearance, he was sentenced to 14 years in prison in 2002. In March 2005, a few inmates, instigated by the guards, brutally tortured him in order to force him to do hard labour. On April 7th, 2007, Mr. Lu developed sudden symptoms of diarrhoea. He couldn't eat anything and became emaciated. He was transferred to the Tailai Hospital for treatment, and x-rays showed that he had developed "double pulmonary tuberculosis and an infection." On May 30th, 2009, he died in Tailai Prison. -
Elderly Xie Deqing Died as Result of Torture at the "Chengdu Legal Education Centre"

Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Xie Deqing, 69, attended the trial of a practitioner on April 29th, and was arrested and taken to the "Chengdu Legal Education Centre". Mr. Xie changed from a robustly healthy, fit person into an emaciated, incontinent human being, unable to eat. Officials laced his food and water with toxic substances and he went into a coma. He died on May 27th, 2009. -
Long-term, Bloody Persecution Reduces a Seven-member Family to Two

Chen Yunchuan was the victim of a fatal car accident on January 11th, 2009. Seven members of Mr. Chen's family practised Falun Gong. Mr. Chen and his wife had four children. Chen's family has suffered brutal persecution over the past ten years and lost several of its members. Sons Chen Aizhong, Chen Aili and daughter Chen Hongping died as a result of torture. Mother Wang died while in exile. -

Mr. Li Min Tortured to Death in Daqing Prison
2009-06-12Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Li Min, 51, was sentenced to eight years in prison in 2005 and detained in Daqing Prison. Because he was tortured for a long time, he was very weak and had symptoms of cerebral thrombosis. In April 2009, Mr. Li Min's family visited him and asked the prison to allow his release for medical treatment. However, the prison refused their request. In May 2009, Mr. Li was transferred to Daqing Hospital. On May 23rd, 2009, he passed away -
Four Falun Gong Practitioners from Jiamusi, Anshan and Leshan Cities Pass Away after Being Tortured

In 2002, Mr. Zhang Xueyi was arrested at home by police and sent to a detention centre. He was detained for two weeks. After that, Zhang Xueyi was constantly harassed by police. Therefore, his mental condition gradually deteriorated. In February 2009, police harassment caused Zhang Xueyi's wife to have a stroke. Then on March 28th, Zhang Xueyi passed away at 70 years old. -
Mr. Qin Daqun from Chongqing City Tortured to Death

On May 19th, 2008, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Qin Daqun was arrested and beaten by police officers. He was detained at the Chongqing City Xishanping Forced Labour Camp. Inmates, incited by guards, hit, kicked and tortured him. Guards forced Mr. Qin to stand for a long time and carry very heavy sandbags. On September 5th, 2008, he passed away due to the inhuman torture. -
Investigation of the Chongqing Judicial System: an Account of the Death of Jiang Xiqing and the Torture of His Lawyers
2009-06-10In January 2009, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Jiang Xiqing fainted from torture by police at Xishanping Labour Camp. He was then cremated while he was still alive. Lawyer Zhang Kai and lawyer Li Chunfu were entrusted by Jiang Xiqing's son to provide legal services related to the death of his father as a result of torture. On the afternoon of May 13th, 2009, these two lawyers were at the home of Jiang Hongbin discussing the case. The lawyers were taken from the home by several officials and police. They were detained, tortured and interrogated for over 5 hours. -
Xu Dawei Dies Due to Abuse in Detention, Family Seeks Justice but Is Intimidated by the Authorities
2009-06-10Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Xu Dawei, 34 years old, lived in Fushun City, Liaoning Province. He suffered eight years of persecution, including detention, at the hands of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Finally he was tortured until he was very thin. He suffered a mental collapse, was not able to eat, and after he was brought back home, in less than 13 days, he passed away on February 16th, 2009. Various marks of injury were found on his body. -
Practitioner Ms. Kang Ruizhu Dies Under Mysterious Circumstances in Police Custody in Pingshan County, Hebei Province
2009-06-10Practitioner Ms. Kang Ruizhu was arrested on October 15th, 2002. On October 27th, 2002, her family was informed that she had died. Even today, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) conceals the cause of her death. The Donghuishe Township government and police station said that Ms. Kang was found dead at a big well in the pump house of the magnetic separation factory which is located in the west of the Donghuishe Township government, about a half mile away. The police department and the police station claimed that "beating death is suicide, any other death is suicide" and these were the words from the top. -
Even After Her Family Was Devastated by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Ms. Fen Xiaomei Was Arrested Again
2009-06-08Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Feng Xiaomei was arrested on April 27th, and is being detained at the Shijiazhuan City Police Station. Her whole family steadfastly cultivated in Falun Gong and abided by Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, and, as a result, were persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party. Police sent Ms. Feng's husband to Shijiazhuan Forced Labour Camp for two years. He was badly traumatized there and was extremely weak by the time he was released in November 2002. He died on October 9th 2003, at the age of 39. Ms. Feng's younger sister was also tortured by police. She was forced to stay away from home and died in 2004. -
Ms. Li Peiqin Persecuted to Death in Heilongjiang Province
2009-06-06Since the persecution of Falun Gong started in July 1999, Ms. Li Peiqin had been arrested on several occasions. In August 2005, police arrested Ms. Li and was forcibly dragged her a train bound for Shanghai. When she arrived, the officers detained her at the police station and tortured her with sleep derivation. Two people were assigned to monitor her 24 hours a day. Even though she was in critical condition, the guards refused to release her. During that time, agents from the National Security Division went to Ms. Li's home and work unit to harass her. As a result of their continuous harassment, her health began to deteriorate further. On January 24th, 2009, she passed away at the age of 58.
