  • Ms. Zhang Ziqin from Gulin County, Sichuan Province, Recounts Her Suffering

    Ms. Zhang Ziqin is a 55-year-old practitioner. Here is her personal account of the persecution she has suffered: "At the Gulin County Detention Centre guards held me down and injected me with unknown drugs. Afterwards, I felt chills all over and twitched uncontrollably for a long time. They also force-fed me with unknown substances. A guard beat me so hard that my whole face was burning with pain."
  • Daughter Living Outside China Urges Chinese Court to Stop the Trial of her Mother

    The Shenbeixinqu Court in Shenyang City, Liaoning Province is scheduled to hold a trial of Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Min. The police are currently monitoring Ms. Wang around the clock. Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials have persecuted Ms. Wang many times. She was at one time imprisoned and persecuted in Dabei Women's Prison in Liaoning Province. When Ms. Wang's daughter, who lives outside China, found out that her mother would face another trial, she publicly urged the personnel from the police station, the Procuratorate, and the court not to be deceived by the CCP's lies. She asked them to stop the trial and release her mother.

    After the nationwide persecution began on July 20th, 1999, I was arrested numerous times because I insisted on having my belief. My home was also ransacked many times. I was sent to a brainwashing facility, put into a forced labour camp three times, and fired from work. In Chaoyanggou Forced Labour Camp guards poured cold water on me in the winter. I had to sit motionless on a small plastic stool to do forced labour. If I moved a little, I would be beaten with a stick, leather belt, or electric baton. We started at 7:00 a.m. and finished at 6:00 p.m. We would be beaten whenever we slowed down a little.
  • Statement of Ms. Jin Lianhua, a Korean-Chinese Falun Gong Practitioner, Regarding the Torture She Endured in Police Custody

    On May 29th, Ms. Jin Lianhua was arrested for practising Falun Gong and transferred to Helong where she was subjected to interrogation and torture by the police. It was not until she was in critical condition that she was taken to Yanji City Hospital for emergency care. She recounts the torture she was subjected to: "Being hancuffed with my arms behind my back with a 2-litre plastic bottle stuffed between my arms and back to exert additional pain. I was subjected to the torture several times a day for 20 to 40 minutes each time; Force-feeding water while my nose was covered. Sometimes the police would combine this torture with the second one. Once I was in such agony that I struggled with my legs and fell off the stool."
  • Firsthand Account of the Persecution: Ms. Wei Currently in Heilongjiang Women's Prison

    Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wei Jun was arrested and sentenced to five years of imprisonment in 2008. She is currently detained in the Heilongjiang Women's Prison. Ms. Wei was paralyzed twice due to long periods of torture. At present, she still suffers from numbness in her lower back and has difficulty walking. She lost feeling in her fingers and suffers from severe itching caused by skin inflammation. She is frequently beaten and denied family vistation rights.
  • Entire Family Devastated as 76-Year-Old Grandfather, Mr. Luo Zhenggui, is Tortured in Guangyuan Prison

    Mr. Luo Zhenggui and his wife were detained by officials from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) for not renouncing their belief in Falun Gong. They were subjected to brainwashing and sentenced to imprisonment. In May 2004, while they were being tortured in prisons, Mr. Luo's father-in-law passed away. His wife almost died from torture. They are now homeless in an effort to avoid being detained again. Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials confiscated their home, stole their personal belongings and withheld their pensions.
  • Prison Inmate Bears Witness to the Torture of Falun Gong Practitioners in China's Liaoning Province Women’s Prison

    I am not a Falun Gong practitioner. After I was found guilty of a minor offence in 2002, I was given a jail term of one and a half years, and was put in Liaoning Province Women’s Prison. The persecution of Falun Gong practitioners was rampant at the time and practitioners were being systematically arrested and sentenced. I saw one practitioner who was bed-bound with her limbs tied to the four corners of the bed. A wooden board was placed on her body with three heavy metal pipes to weigh it down-- one on her forehead, one on her torso, and one on her ankle. Four inmates balanced on top of the metal pipes as if they were sitting on a seesaw.
  • The Tragic Story of Practitioner Mr. Tang Yi's Death

    Mr. Tang Yi was sent to the Xishanping Forced Labour Camp for a long period of time because of practising Falun Gong. He was released in November 2008 after being diagnosed with bone tuberculosis. He passed away on September 22nd, 2009 at the age of 46. He wrote about his experience in the labour camp: "I had been on a hunger strike for 32 days before I was taken to the labour camp. I was very weak. Nonetheless, I was often pushed and held down on the floor. They grabbed my injured hand and dragged me over the floor, back and forth, which caused dislocation of my joints. I suffered from violent force-feedings. They slapped or punched me during the force-feedings. The feeding tube was difficult to insert through my nose, and made my nose bleed after several attempts."
  • Fifty Days of Persecution Suffered by Ms. Zhu Chunlian from Wuhan

    On April 19th - 20th, 2011, over ten Falun Gong practitioners from Wuhan were arrested and had their homes ransacked, including Ms. Zhu Chunlian. She recounts: "The officials confiscated my personal property, including Falun Gong books and materials, computers, and other items. They handcuffed me and took me to a brainwashing centre where I was detained and interrogated in an isolation room. A police officer forced me to undergo sleep deprivation for three consecutive days and nights. My handcuffs were never removed. I was also forced to stand for extended durations. As a result, I was fatigued and my legs were extremely swollen."
  • Ms. Li Yushu Brutally Beaten by Inmates in Heilongjiang Women's Prison

    Ms. Li Yushu, 62, was subjected to a year of forced labour for practising Falun Gong in 2000, then sentenced to twelve years in prison in 2002. She has been imprisoned in Heilongjiang Women's Prison since January 2003. In February 2001 guards beat, kicked and stomped on Ms. Li. Minghui website [Chinese version of the Falun Gong website Clearwisdom.net] has reported on the violence and torture against Ms. Li in the prison several times. The latest report was in September 2010.
  • The Persecution I Saw and Experienced in Masanjia Forced Labour Camp

    On January 27th, 2010, I was arrested by police for practising Falun Gong. Because I refused to tell them my name, they beat me. My mouth was bleeding, and both sides of my chest were severely injured as a result of being hit and kicked. I could not turn over in bed at night, and it was even hard to breathe. In March 2010, I was sent to Masanjia Forced Labour Camp. Guards tied me to a “stretching bed” torture device and began to stretch me while blowing cigarette smoke in my face. My face was covered with tears. They increased the tension, and the pain was excruciating.
  • A Personal Account of the Persecution of Ms. Deng Lijuan

    On July 20th, 1999, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started persecuting Falun Gong. My husband and I went to Beijing to appeal for justice but were arrested and sent back to Yushu City. We were held in the detention centre and tortured for two months before being released. At that time, my six-year-old son was at home alone, without with no one to cook for him or take care of him. In 2002 police again arrested my husband and I. I was tortured in the Heizuizi Forced Labour Camp in Changchun City for one year and my husband was tortured for three years. He died on April 7th, 2004, three days after he returned home.
  • Atrocities at the Wanjia Forced Labour Camp in Harbin

    In 2001, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Ma Bingjuan was detained at Wanjia Forced Labour Camp in Harbin. She both witnessed and experienced the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) shockingly brutal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. Ma Bingyuan stated that at that time, 800 detained Falun Gong practitioners had scabies on their bodies as a result of the persecution conditions. Prison doctors would take off practitioners' clothes and use a dull knife to scrap the scabies sores. That tragic condition and the pain from it is hard to describe using words.
  • First-Hand Account of Persecution Suffered by a Practitioner from Chengdu City

    I have been arrested many times since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began persecuting Falun Gong practitioners in July 1999. When I went to Beijing to appeal with a few practitioners in October 1999, I was arrested and detained for over three months. The police confiscated 3,700 yuan, which was all I had on me, and forced my family to pay over 8,000 yuan for officers from the local Domestic Security Division to go to Beijing to collect me. I have been held in the Jintang County Detention Centre five times, the Xinjin Brainwashing Centre twice, and sentenced to the Nanmusi Forced Labour Camp for one year.
  • The Persecution Suffered by Retired Teacher Ms. Tian Sufang Before She Died

    Ms. Tian Sufang, a seventy-four-year old retired teacher, lived in Chifeng City in Inner Mongolia. She started practising Falun Gong in 1996 and after several months of practice, the illnesses she previously sought treatment for and that doctors could not cure, disappeared. After Falun Gong was suppressed by the Chinese Communist regime in July 1999, Ms. Tian was arrested and tortured countless times. Finally she was sentenced to five years in prison. She passed away on March 15th, 2011.
