  • Exposing Gross Mistreatment and Abuse of Falun Gong Practitioners at the Shandong First Women's Labour Camp

All practitioners at the labour camp were forced to make toys from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. every day, and were only allowed 30 minutes for meal times. The Shandong First Women's Labour Camp was actually an illegal toy factory. When completed the toys would be exported to other countries. Every detainee had a quota and had to work non-stop to complete it. Cosmetically, the toys looked very nice, but they were filled with contaminated cotton. Many people that had handled the cotton had unbearably itchy skin and developed skin problems and festering of both hands and feet.

They wanted to give me injections, test my blood and put me on an intravenous drip, but I was determined not to co-operate. With the onset of the Communist Party's persecution of Falun Gong, Ms. Zheng suffered from the regime's cruelties, such as forcible brainwashing at the Kaiping Detention Centre in Tangshan City. The relatives did not receive any information about the trial until May 31st. When they called the lawyers, immediately they were told that they had never received any messages from the court or the procuratorate. They wanted to appear in court to defend the practitioners, but it was already too late because they lived in another city, far away from Yingkou City. The first trial took place on March 23rd, 2010.

  • Accounts of Torture from the Chongqing Women's Forced Labour Camp

The Chongqing Women's Forced Labour Camp is a brutal inhuman place. In order to generate revenue, the camp forces practitioners to do labour. The camp sends relatively young practitioners to the rubber workshop to make accessories for manufacturing cars. Older practitioners are sent to the sweet packaging workshop to wrap sweets. The camp sets a very high quota for each practitioner. In December 2009, the guards raised the quota again. Each practitioner had to wrap an additional pound of sweets every hour. If a practitioner has nine hours of quota left in one week, she is punished by being forced to sit for two hours if she is older than 60 years old. Otherwise, she is forced to stand for two hours. The quotas are set unrealistically high, and practitioners have to work until late into the night.
  • Walls Used as Instruments to Torture Falun Gong Practitioners

In Fangqiang Forced Labour Camp in Jiangsu Province, the guards forced practitioners to have their noses, abdomens and toes, or back of the head, buttocks and heels touch the wall at the same time. Should the practitioners move or refuse the order, the guards beat them. They have to stand like this for long periods of time. Sometimes a washbasin is placed on top of the head of a practitioner, and water may not be spilled from it. Others are forced to hold heavy objects in their hands while they face the wall.
