Hebei 610 Office Directs the Persecution at the Laishui County Party School in Baoding City

Four people from the Hebei 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) and the Baoding City 610 Office went to the Laishui County Party School [Party schools are used to train officials for the Chinese Communist Party] on September 15th, demanding that the intensity of the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners be increased and that each county bring more practitioners to the Party school. Falun Gong practitioners from Laishui County and Yongyang County were arrested yesterday afternoon. Two people from the Baoding 610 Office are now staying in the Party school to carry out forced brainwashing. -
Female Practitioner from Heilongjiang Persecuted in Shiijingshan Detention Centre in Beijing
2010-10-05After the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started persecuting Falun Gong, Ms. Wang Liqing went to Beijing to appeal for the practice. She was arrested in Tiananmen Square and detained in Beijing's Shijingshan Detention Centre for over 40 days. When she was released, she weighed barely 80 pounds. Here is an account of her experience in her own words: "I was beaten by criminal inmates and they collected cold water with a basin and poured it over me. Prison head threatened me so that I would give up Falun Gong. I was interrogated many times to obtain my address. Since I would not divulge my name and address, the investigator threatened to send me to the Eighth Male Ward to be bullied by male criminals." -
Twenty-Four Falun Gong Practitioners from Laishui County, Hebei Province Have Been Taken to Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Brainwashing Sessions
2010-10-05Recently, in Laishui County, Hebei Province, brainwashing sessions were set up by the Chinese Communist regime to persecute Falun Gong practitioners from various areas of Laishui. According to sources, twenty-four practitioners have been taken into custody and forced to attend the Laishui brainwashing sessions. Among these cases, the persecution of practitioners in Wangchun, Shiting Town and Louchun Village has been particularly severe. Falun Gong practitioner Xing Xiumin tried to explain the truth about Falun Gong to the staff who were overseeing practitioners. As a result, she was beaten by Zhang Jiuhong until she could not walk. She has since returned home. -
I Was Severely Tortured in Huizuizi Forced Labour Camp in Jilin Province
2010-10-04I am a 52-year-old female from Changchun City in Jilin Province. I was a high school teacher. Since practising Falun Gong, I have been detained twice, lived under supervision once, and was sentenced to one year of forced labour. During my time in Heizuizi Forced Labour Camp I was cruelly tortured. During my two years in the forced labour camp, the guards used many vicious tactics to try to force me to give up my belief. All of the practitioners who arrived new to the camp were "greeted" at the entrance door with electric shock. The guards were always armed with electric batons. They used the batons to threaten, terrorise, and shock me (among others), and I remained bedridden after suffering from a heart attack. -
Falun Gong Practitioners from Shuangluan District, Chengde County, Hebei Province Recently Detained
2010-10-04The 610 Office authorities (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) in Chengde County arrested Falun Gong practitioners from eight counties and three districts, and forced them into a brainwashing centre. Police went to Falun Gong practitioner Dong Duoli's home several times. When they could not find her, they demanded Ms. Dong's husband to persuade her to give up her belief, and to sign statements to renounce practising Falun Gong. -
Jiamusi Practitioner Ms. Wang Shuying Arrested
2010-10-03After the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners began in 1999, forty-seven-year-old Ms. Wang Shuying was repeatedly arrested for her beliefs, and lost her government job. In September 2010, police arrested her again. She is currently detained at the Jiamusi Detention Centre. In 2003, she was arrested after being reported by her neighbour for practising Falun Gong exercises at home. She was subjected to three years of forced labour, but was spared because she was in serious condition from persecution. -
Older Practitioner Mr. Niu Ruiyi Secretly Sentenced to Six Years in Prison by Gangu County Court in Gansu Province
2010-10-03Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Niu Ruiyi, 65, was arrested on January 21st, 2010. He was sentenced to six years in prison. In late May and early June of this year, some detainees who had been recently released from the Gangu County Detention Centre said that Mr. Niu had been sentenced. However, neither the police, the Procurator, nor the court gave Mr. Niu's family members a notice of trial, or any legal document. Because of this, Mr. Niu's family could not serve as or hire legal representatives to defend him in court. The lawyer who was assigned to Mr. Niu by the court was not allowed to meet with him or write letters to Mr. Niu's family members. After the trial, the family was still not notified promptly. Mr. Niu has become very thin from the abuse and some of his body has become deformed. -
Mr. Ma Zhiwu, Tortured for Years in Detention, Has Been Arrested Again
2010-10-02Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Ma Zhiwu was arrested by the State Security Division on September 12th, 2010 and detained for the second time. After Jiang Zemin, [former leader of China and instigator of the persecution] began to persecute Falun Gong on July 20th, 1999, Mr. Ma suffered ongoing persecution by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). He was imprisoned for a total of eight years in the Yinchuan Detention Centre, Ningixa Forced Labour Camp and Wuzhong Prison in Ningxia. In the forced labour camp, guards gave the green light to drug addicts and thieves to beat Mr. Ma without cause. They beat Mr. Ma with batons, stools and rubber tubes, all over his body. -
Five Falun Gong Practitioners from Changling Oil Refinery Subject to Persecution
2010-10-02Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wen Miaoying, 70 years old, was suddenly arrested by police in September 2005. Her family members tried to find officials who could help release her, spent more than 20,000 yuan in bribes, and wrote a Guarantee Statement to renounce practising Falun Gong on her behalf. She was sentenced to four and a half years, which was to be served outside of detention. -
Communist Officials in Baoding City, Hebei Province Intensify Relentless Persecution of Falun Gong Practitioners
2010-10-01Since June 2010, the 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) and Domestic Security Division in Baoding City, Hebei Province have escalated the arrest and persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. Prior to each arrest, Communist Party authorities dispatched secret agents to spy on the targeted practitioners, and determined the practitioners' daily schedules. The police officers broke into practitioners' homes. They kicked in doors, pried locks open, and confiscated cash and private property. The arrests of more than 60 practitioners were confirmed in June. Most were imprisoned in a forced labour camp. More than 100 families were harassed during this period. -
610 Office Agents in Tonghua, Jilin Province Conspire to Persecute Previously Imprisoned Falun Gong Practitioners
2010-09-30As the 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) conspired to carry out the so-called "re-visit" of Falun Gong practitioners who have been released from imprisonment, all city or county 610 Office personnel began harassing and arresting these practitioners again. On September 10th, five men (one in police uniform, the others plain-clothed) stormed into Yin Guifen's home and ransacked it. They then forcefully dragged her into a vehicle, taking her directly to the brainwashing centre. Practitioner Liu Fengyan, 59 years old, had just came home from a forced labour camp and was again taken to Tonghua Brainwashing Centre in early September 2010. -
Ms. Yang Donglian and Mr. Hu Fangjin Arrested by Agents from Xinhuang County 610 Office in Hunan Province
2010-09-30Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Hu Fangjin was arrested on September 1st, when he went out to fetch water. Several people had been waiting for him since the early hours. Mr. Hu has been arrested by agents from the 610 Office numerous times since the onset of the persecution in 1999, and was twice subjected to forced labour. He was beaten so severely that he had blurred vision and his legs were numb. He was dismissed from his job and had to sell water to make a living. Ms. Yang and Mr. Hu were taken to the Huaihua City Brainwashing Centre on September 11th. -
Mr. Zeng Yuxian Sentenced to Seven Years in Prison
2010-09-28Cangxi District Court in Sichuan sentenced Mr. Zeng Yuxian to seven years in prison for practising Falun Gong on August 13th, 2010. Prior to the hearing, on the afternoon of July 16th, 2010, Mr. Zeng's parents hired their first defence lawyer. The lawyer went to Cangxi courthouse to see Mr. Zeng's file. Upon requesting the file however, a courthouse staff member stated that lawyers defending Falun Gong practitioners require a background check. The lawyer asked what law stipulated this requirement, but the staff member could not give an answer, as no such law exists. Due to the pressure and harassment by the authorities, this lawyer decided to withdraw from the case. -
High School Teacher Tang Wenyan Sentenced to Prison in Guangdong Province
2010-09-28The Third People's Court of Dongguan City, Guangdong Province, held a trial for Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Tang Wenyan on March 3rd, 2010. Ms. Tang had hired a defence lawyer, but when he came to the hearing, he told her family that the Bureau of Justice in Dongguan City ordered him not to take the case. Under pressure from the authorities, he agreed to not represent Ms. Tang. On July 15th, Ms. Tang was notified that she had been sentenced to three and a half years in prison. -
Acts of Persecution in "Legal System Training Centre" at Qinglong Mountain in Heilongjiang Province
2010-09-28At Qinglong Mountain in Heilongjiang Province there is a facility called the "Legal System Training Centre," which is in reality a brainwashing centre. If practitioners refuse to follow the guards' instructions, they are violently beaten and tortured. Yu Songjiang was handcuffed, beaten and shocked with electric batons. Li Jingfen, Pan Shurong and Yu Songjiang have recently been released after more than 100 days of detention. Ms. Song from Mudanjiang City was also detained at the brainwashing centre with these three practitioners.
