Ms. Ma Fengyi and Ms. Tang Shude, Both Older, Given Long Sentences in Daan City, Jilin Province Court

The Chinese Communist Party (CCP)-controlled court in Daan City held a secret trial to sentence Ms. Ma Fengyi and Ms. Tang Shude, both Falun Gong practitioners, to five year terms around March 8th, 2008. Ms. Tang was carried out of the court after the sentence. Ms. Ma was in poor health. Ms. Ma and Ms. Tang were arrested on January 2nd, 2008 and imprisoned in the Daan Detention Centre. Ms. Ma's family had 20,000 yuan extorted from them. -
Ms. Jin Peixia Persecuted in Zhenjiang Public Security Bureau and Judong Women's Forced Labour Camp
2008-04-04Ms. Jin Peixia is 64 years old this year. The Zhenjiang City Public Security Bureau of Jiangsu Province and the 610 Office have persecuted her just because she is determined to continue to practise Falun Gong. The prison guards instigated and controlled the drug addict and prostitute inmates to torture and harass the practitioners determined in their belief. Besides keeping the practitioners confined in the small cells and kept under tight surveillance, the guards also used other means to torture them, for example the so-called "husband and wife bed" (using an electric baton to shock the female practitioners' genitals). They refused to let the practitioners use the toilet, deprived them of sleep, and used unknown drugs to destroy their central nervous systems. Practitioners were not even allowed to talk to each other, nor were they allowed to make eye contact. -
Brutal Interrogation and Torture at Xi'an City Brainwashing Centre
2008-04-03In the brainwashing centre, the practitioners were forced to watch videos and read books with content slandering Falun Gong. They were also forced to write the so-called "guarantee statement". Those who refused to cooperate were tortured with many means, such as being locked up in a small cell, being deprived of sleep during long-term brainwashing sessions, having lights shone in their face and being forced to eat food mixed with drugs which caused practitioners to become bewildered, and to feel dizzy and nervous. For the practitioners that supposedly knew some details that the evildoers were interested in, they were fixed onto an "iron chair", had lights shining their face for extended periods of time, and were deprived of sleep during continuous interrogation. Consequently, a 20-year-old male practitioner became unable to walk. -
Practitioner Ms. Zhang Yuxia from Shanghai Arrested Again, Current Situation of Her Two Young Sons Unknown
2008-04-03On February 18th, 2008, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhang Yuxia, who lived in Shanghai's Xuhui District, was arrested while distributing leaflets exposing the persecution and telling people the facts about Falun Gong. The current situation of her two sons, 5 and 3 years old, remains unknown. Back in 2007, Zhang Yuxia's husband Guo Shenghuan was sentenced to four years in prison for not giving up Falun Gong's principles of "Truthfulness, Benevolence, Forbearance". -
Mr. Ba Shuqun, Badly Injured from Torture, Unjustly Tried and Detained at Jinan Detention Centre
2008-04-02It has been confirmed that Mr. Ba Shuqun, a Falun Dafa practitioner in Jinan City, Shandong Province, was unable to walk as a result of being tortured, yet he was taken to a courthouse in Tianqiao District, Jinan City on January 29th, 2008, for a secret trial and sentencing. According to a witness, several people dragged Mr. Ba Shuqun out of a car. His trial was scheduled to be on the second floor. However, it was difficult for several police officers to carry him up the stairs. Consequently, the hearing was then changed to another very small room on the first floor. When Mr. Ba was being interrogated, someone had to support him because he was unable to stand up and he was on crutches. He looked pale and wan. -
Forced Labour Situation at the No. 2 Labour Camp in Shandong Province
2008-04-02The labour camps are used by the police to detain suspects and torture them without following any legal procedures, as there is no evidence against approximately two thirds of those who are detained in labour camps that they committed a crime or even disobeyed the law. When the police torture them but cannot find any criminal evidence, they send these people to forced labour camps to avoid trials and to cover up for their misconduct in enforcing the law. They also do this to make a profit by "selling the labour" of these detainees. In addition, they can make deals with the suspects for personal gains. For example, a criminal suspect given a forced labour sentence of three years could have it reduced to one year after some deals are made. -
50-Year-Old Paraplegic Practitioner Jin Chengshang is Persecuted, Robbed and Sent to Prison
2008-04-01In 1996 I was involved in a traffic accident and became paraplegic. My bedsore healed miraculously soon after I started the practice of Falun Gong. On March 10th, 2005, more than 20 policemen broke into my home. Four young strong policemen cruelly cuffed me and forced me onto a chair; they almost killed me. They also held my wife down in the toilet and cuffed her. They took away personal property worth more than 50,000 yuan. I was taken to Harbin City No.4 Detention Centre. Because there was no nursing personnel to help me, the bedsores on my hips, buttocks and back all festered with running fluid, blood and oozing pus; it smelled terrible. I was sentenced to five years in prison. -
Falun Gong Practitioners Severely Persecuted by Communist Party Members in Taihe County, Anhui Province
2008-04-01Recently, information was obtained about the severe persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners by the "610 Office" and police in Taihe County, Fuyang City, Anhui Province. Practitioners were arrested and tortured at the detention centre. The torture methods included being subjected to freezing temperatures for extended periods of time, being handcuffed and shackled, and being repeatedly poked with needles. Some practitioners were tortured by police twisting their arms and some were forced to jump down flights of stairs while shackled. Many of these practitioners were sentenced to forced labour. Eight practitioners were arrested. Some have been detained for almost a year. -
Family Member of Detained Practitioners Arrested
2008-04-01On February 25th, 2008, twelve Falun Gong practitioners from Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province were arrested. Some of the practitioners have been holding a hunger strike to protest the persecution. Mr. Chen Baofeng was persecuted to death in only eight days. Recently, practitioners holding the hunger strike have displayed ailing symptoms to different degrees and their situation has become desperate. Their family members are extremely concerned and worried about their condition. On March 19th, 2008, Ms. Jing's sister went to the Police Department to request the release of her practitioner sister. Ms. Jing's sister was taken into custody. She has been detained in the Shijiahetao Detention Centre. -
The Criminal Behaviour of Those in Charge at Wangcun Forced Labour Camp
2008-03-31Just before the 2006 Chinese New Year practitioner Xu Ruliang wrote a disclaimer to declare that his statement obtained by forced-brainwashing was null and void. Guards hung Mr. Xu up by handcuffs for 13 days during the Chinese New Year. In October 2006, Mr. Xu once again voided his statement that had been obtained by force. Zheng Wanxin, Sun Fengjun, and other guards tortured him for a whole day with electric shock batons. His feet and back were covered with red and black scars. It was so painful that he couldn't take a shower for a month. -
Six Practitioners from Jiangxi Province Detained for Half a Year
2008-03-31From October 8th, 2007, to November 14th, 2007, six practitioners, Mr. Wang Xing, Mr. Ai Guoxiang, Ms. Huang Lanqin, Ms. Peng Ying, Mr. Huang Hongqiang, and Ms. Cao Weihong, were arrested by police officers of the State Security Division. Some of them have become critically ill. The six practitioners' residencies were all searched, and their property was confiscated. They were transferred to Nanchang City or Longfu Mountain to be interrogated. The thugs afflicted brutal tortures on them, with an attempt to compel them to acknowledge their so-called "counter-revolutionary" crime. -
Jing Suo's Letter--Incarcerated Falun Gong Practitioner Exposes Inhuman Conditions Inside the Fushun Prison
2008-03-29My name is Jing Suo. I am a Falun Gong practitioner, and I was arrested for practising Falun Gong and sentenced to four years in prison in 2004. On June 23rd, 2006, a guard drank a lot of alcohol and beat me for no reason. I held a hunger strike to protest the inhuman treatment, but the captors force-fed and tortured me. They inserted a rubber tube into my stomach through my nose, and used lots of napkins trying to stem the blood flow from my nose. The tube damaged my nose, throat, oesophagus and stomach. They put me on a bed, handcuffed me to the corners of the headboard and tied my feet to the corners of the foot-board, and during the heat of summer, they covered me with blankets. They incited the inmates to force-feed me concentrated salt water and slap my face to keep me from closing my eyes. -
Ms. Shi Xiuzhen and Other Practitioners Arrested to Meet "Olympics Quota" in Jilin Province
2008-03-28On March 18th, 2008, officer Bai Mingku (male) from the Legal Office of the Jiaohe City Police Department and officers from the Xinzhan Town Police Station broke into Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Shi Xiuzhen's home located in Changjia Village, Jiaohe City. The police violently beat her, then arrested her and ransacked her home. At 8:00 p.m. on March 19th, the police ransacked Ms. Shi's home again and broke a lock to open a storage room. Her 78-year-old mother-in-law was also threatened by the police. It is said that these arrests and ransacking of homes is to meet the "Olympics Quota." The police from Jiaohe City 610 Office and Police Department are to arrest at least four Falun Gong practitioners to fulfill their "assigned task." -
Mr. Bai Shaohua Arrested after the Death of His Practitioner Brother

On February 20th, 2008, Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Bai Shaohua was arrested after police stopped to inspect his car. He was sent to Beijing Huairou District Detention Centre. His older brother Bai Xiaojun was repeatedly imprisoned at Chaoyanggou Forced Labour Camp, Changchun City, where he was so brutally abused that he could not care for himself and lost consciousness. He died in July 2003. -
65-Year-Old Li Manting's Account of His Suffering in Yushu City and Changchun City
2008-03-28In 2002, I hung a banner saying "Falun Gong is good" in town and police arrested me. In order to protect other practitioners I refused to give my name and address. Police removed my trousers and brutally beat me with a one-inch-wide plastic tube all over my buttock. Two or three guards pulled my two arms behind my back and tried to handcuff my hands behind my back. Finally they held me down on the ground and someone put his knee on the back of my head. My hands were cuffed behind me. They pulled the handcuffs up, which was extremely painful. Then they suddenly let the handcuff go loose, which made them tighter. They did this repeatedly, which made the handcuffs cut into my flesh and, it seemed like, into the bone. I was in extreme pain and cold sweat ran down my face.
