    'Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch have denounced this persecution as an attack on human rights. On the 24th of October 2002, the Parliament of the Canton of Geneva passed a resolution against persecution in China, particularly against that of Falun Dafa practitioners. Some 15 countries have instituted legal proceedings against those who are covering up what is considered to be one of the most large-scale persecutions in the world since 1945.'
  • Finnish Newspaper Reports on Falun Gong and Highlights Legal Actions Taken to Bring the Persecutors to Justice

    'Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, was introduced in China in 1992 by Master Li Hongzhi. It is a traditional meditation practice that consists of five sets of exercises. According to the practitioners, the exercises promote good health and develop the body, the mind and the spirit. This process is called cultivation.'
  • German Newspaper "Leipziger Volkszeitung" Reports on Xiong Wei being Freed from a Forced Labour Camp and Returning to Germany

    When talking about the support from abroad, Xiong Wei said, “I was lucky. The police did not treat me as brutally as they did the others.” This is due to the pressure from Germany. The German Government and Premier appealed for Xiong Wei’s freedom in Beijing. There were also petitions against the detainment of Xiong Wei and a large-scale activity of sending postcards to the labour camp where she was detained. As soon as Xiong Wei was released, the German Embassy dropped some diplomatic hints and Xiong Wei was able to come back to Germany last week.
  • German Media Reports on Chinese Student who was Rescued from a Forced Labour Camp in China and Returned to Germany

    The report said that Xiong Wei was arrested on January the 5th 2002 because she distributed flyers in Beijing to appeal for a stop to the persecution against Falun Gong. Falun Gong practitioners in Germany expressed their sincere thanks to the German Government and all of the parliament members who have provided help in rescuing Xiong Wei. They were also grateful to the international human rights organisations and those compassionate people who provided their signatures, mailed postcards or wrote songs to voice their support for Xiong Wei throughout her illegal imprisonment.

  • EFGIC: Shocking Video Footage Captures Woman Near Death after Two Years of Torture

    LONDON [EFGIC]– Video footage smuggled out of Inner Mongolia shows the skeletal body of Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Xia. Two years of torture have reduced her frame to 20 kilos and left her fading in and out of consciousness...In the video Ms. Wang is shown lying on her back as the camera zooms in on several scars above her knees left by ropes.
  • Spanish Newspaper Reports on the Criminal Lawsuit Against Jia Qingling in Spain

    'The lawsuit was filed for accusations of genocide and torture against millions of Chinese and western citizens who practise Falun Gong, a practice based on exercises and meditation similar to Tai-Chi and Yoga, and some spiritual principles. In this lawsuit, Jia Qinglin is accused by fifteen victims from different nationalities of various crimes he committed as Secretary General of the Chinese Municipal Communist Committee in Beijing.'
  • German Newspaper FAZ (Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung) Reported on the Persecution of Xiong Wei in a Chinese Labour Camp

    The report quoted Xiong Wei’s account of the persecution, forced education (brainwashing) and humiliation she has experienced in China’s detention centres and labour camps. Xiong Wei said, “The police have learned how to beat prisoners without leaving any scars on the body’s surface.” On several occasions, she was forced to stand still for hours without taking any food or water. She was imprisoned with several people in a small cell, which had only one toilet.
  • European Practitioner Discusses the Benefits of Falun Gong in a Three-page Interview with a Chilean Magazine

    Though the principle objective of Falun Dafa is that people find physical, mental and spiritual balance and achieve true internal peace, it has been scientifically proven that the practice facilitates remarkable improvements in health. For example in 1998 in China, a study was carried out where the health of thirty thousand practitioners was evaluated. The results indicated that 60% recuperated from their previous illnesses, and 97% reported feeling healthier and with greater physical energy.
  • EFGIC: U.S. House of Representatives Passes Resolution Condemning Chinese Government Oppression of Americans over Falun Gong

    Citing cases in which Chinese-government agents targeted U.S. officials, residents, and citizens from New York to San Francisco, the resolution calls upon the regime to immediately stop interfering with basic freedoms in America. It states that the P.R.C. government should “cease using the diplomatic missions in the United States to spread falsehoods about the nature of Falun Gong.”

    On the 29th of September, Reuters reported on the UK Labour Party’s Annual Conference held in Brighton. Outside the conference, Falun Gong supporters protested against China’s persecution of practitioners because of their belief in Falun Gong.
  • Swedish Newspaper "Svenska Dagbladet": How Much Help will we Continue Providing to China to Maintain the Persecution?

    "At present there are 6,800,000 people being detained in forced labour camps in China, about half of them are Falun Gong practitioners. In those forced labour camps, the detained people are not only suffering from torture openly but also they are forced to produce products. These products are exported to western countries."
  • Breaking News - EFGIC: Chinese Woman Free Following International Rescue Campaign

    Xiong Wei, a 33year-old employee of a German company, returned to Germany today after 2 years of illegal detention in China. Ms Wei, a former student at Berlin Technical University, was arrested by the authorities in January 2002 whilst working in China for her German employers, simply because she practised Falun Gong.
  • Report by Spain Europa Press: Jia Qinglin Is Sued in Spain

    On the 2nd of September, at the Spanish National Court in Madrid, Falun Gong practitioners filed a lawsuit against the People’s Political Consultative Conference Chairman of China Jia Qinglin. Jia arrived in Spain on September 3rd on an official four day visit. He has been indicted for crimes of genocide and torture of Falun Gong practitioners while he was the Communist Party Secretary General of Beijing between 1999 and 2002.
  • Report in France's "L’Union en Ligne": Falun Dafa: The Method of Relaxing Body and Mind from China

    The practise was banned in China in 1999. “This method of relaxing the body and mind is non-political, neither do we seek money or fame.” Tens of millions of Chinese people were practising Falun Gong before it was banned. “ Many people have been put into prison since it was banned and the conditions of some other practitioners are even worse now due to the brutal persecution.”
