    Etelä-Saimaa, the largest newspaper in Northern Finland, was one of the Finnish media that reported Liu Yunshan's role in the persecution of Falun Gong in China: instigating lies and hatred as Minister of Propaganda. Liu, a member of the Politburo Standing Committee of Chinese Communist Party (CCP), was visiting the country June 12 – 14, as part of his four-state visit in Europe.
  • Germany: Berlin Media Exposes Chinese Communist Interference of Shen Yun Performances

    “I'm from the former East Germany. Among the Chinese, it was the same as our [East German] rulers. They are afraid.” said Mr. Jörg Seefeld, director of the event department at the Stage Theatre at Potsdamer Plaza, where Shen Yun gave four performances from March 23 to 26, 2014.

    The city of Prato has the largest Chinese community in Italy. It is commonly known as Italy's “Chinatown.” A group of practitioners can be seen doing the Falun Dafa exercises on a park lawn every Saturday morning there.

  • Free Falun Gong Class Makes Front-Page News in a Small Town in Germany

    Falun Gong practitioners in Cham, a small town in southern Germany, once again held a free class at the end of November to teach the local people the Falun Gong exercises. The exercises introduced many Cham residents to Falun Gong, an ancient mind and body practice based on the universal principles of Truth-Compassion-Forbearance.
  • China's Organ Harvesting Atrocities Under the Spotlight in Italy

    The issue of forced live organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners has garnered a fair amount of attention in Italy recently, both in the media and in the Senate. Evidence and expert testimonies were presented at a Senate hearing organized by the Human Rights Committee in the Italian Parliament on December 19.

    According to The Irish Times on February 20, about 50 Falun Gong practitioners on February 19 called for an end to the persecution of Falun Gong, saying that “practitioners have been tortured, been imprisoned, and had their organs harvested since 1999.”

    Shen Yun Performing Arts has graced many of the world’s most prestigious stages over the last several years, captivating audiences and earning a reputation as the world’s pre-eminent Chinese performing arts company. But Shen Yun’s mission to revive the 5,000 years of divinely inspired culture of China has brought with it pressure and interference from the regime in China with diplomats using various methods to try to derail performances. London is the latest place for this interference, where the local promoters say that the Chinese Embassy has been putting pressure on the upper management of the theatre.
  • Princess Michael: Shen Yun a ‘Marvellous Evening’

    HRH Princess Michael of Kent was among the special guests at the opening night of Shen Yun Performing Arts at The London Coliseum, on April 5. At a reception after the show, the Princess briefly addressed the audience of around 180 guests, saying it was a “great honour and a pleasure” to be there and that she was “completely obsessed” with Chinese culture.
  • London's West End Welcomes Shen Yun

    Shen Yun Performing Arts Touring Company opened its run of West End performances to a delighted audience in London on Tuesday, April 5. Actor Jamie Cho said that the performances were fantastic and the dances beautiful. “The dancers were great. The two singers were amazing—the tenor and the soprano.” He was also particularly taken by the performance on the two stringed erhu.

    Jia Qinglin, one of the active participants in the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)'s persecution of Falun Gong, was sued by Falun Gong practitioners from Poland during his visit to Warsaw. Many Polish mainstream media covered the story.
  • United Kingdom: Falun Gong Practitioners "Add a Vibrant Touch" to the Edinburgh Arts Festival Parade

    "Chinese light up Calvalcade". This, along with a large photo of Falun Dafa practitioners performing a fan dance was on the cover of Scotland's biggest newspaper The Scotsman on August 9, 2010. The lead story described the Falun Gong contingent in the Edinburgh arts festival parade.
