  • Mr. Yu Yungang Tortured to Death in Jiamusi City Prison Shortly after Mr. Qin Yueming's Death

    Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Yu Yungang was involved in exposing the persecution of Falun Gong by using loud speakers during the 2009 Winter College Student Sports Games. Police arrested him along with over 20 practitioners in February 2009, ransacked their homes, and tortured them brutally. Mr. Yu was tortured by the police hanging him up by his handcuffs, and cruelly beating and severely injuring him. When he was interrogated several days later, his head was still wrapped with a bandage. On July 7th, 2009, he was sentenced to six years, and locked in Jiamusi Prison. On March 1st, 2001 Mr. Yu passed out due to torture, and was rushed to hospital, however, he died on March 5th. Another practitioner, Mr. Qin Yueming died from torture in the prison shortly before Mr. Yu.
  • Ms. Wang Cuilan Passed Away as a Result of Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Persecution in Shandong Province

    Ms. Wang Cuilan, a Falun Gong practitioner in Shandong province, suffered cruel persecution in a forced labour camp, which resulted in her suffering central facial paralysis and other diseases. After being released she was frequently harassed and monitored by the officers from the forced labour camp. Ms. Wang Cuilan passed away on January 24th, 2011 due to the cruel persecution, at the age of sixty-eight.
  • Young Couple from Shandong Province Suffer Years of Severe Persecution

    Mr. Du Jianxin and Ms. Wang Fan benefited greatly after they started practising Falun Gong. In July 1999, the young couple were physically, mentally and financially persecuted by members of the Chinese Communist Party. They were detained, sentenced to forced labour camps, extorted for money, and also suffered from wage deduction, demotion, and were eventually fired from their jobs. Currently, Ms. Wang Fan's detention in Wangcun Women's Forced Labour Camp has been extended for another three years. Mr. Du Jianxin was arrested in January 2011 by police from the National Security Team in Shouguang and was brutally tortured.
  • Facts about the Persecution of Three Falun Gong Practitioners in Mianyang City, Sichuan Province

    Ms. Fu Ping had many illnesses healed through the practice of Falun Gong. During more than ten years of persecution, Ms. Feng was detained many times. Ms. Feng was arrested again in December 2007 and taken to the Mianyang City Detention Centre. The police ordered her son to write a guarantee statement to renounce practising Falun Gong on her behalf, otherwise they wouldn't let him bail her out. They even extorted money from him. In 2008, she was forced to leave home because the local court tried to bring her to trial and sentence her. Living a homeless life for several years, her illnesses returned. After becoming paralysed and bedridden for more than a year, she died in August 2010.
  • Mr. Qin Yueming Tortured to Death in Jiamusi Prison

    On February 26th, 2011, Mr. Qin Yueming's wife received a phone call from Jiamusi Prison informing her that Mr. Qin had suffered a sudden heart attack and died. She was summoned to come to the prison to finish a “necessary procedure.” Jiamusi Prison set up a “Harsh Management Team” for the purpose of reaching an 85-per cent “transformation” [forcibly renounce Falun Gong] rate among Falun Gong practitioners. Since February 21st, selected practitioners have been handed over to the “Harsh Management Team.” Every practitioner is watched by several prisoners, and under constant pressure every day to write statements renouncing Falun Gong. Mr. Qin Yueming was transferred to the “Harsh Management Team” on February 21st, and died six days later.
  • Mr. Shi Hongbo from Dalian City Dies as a Result of Persecution

    Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Shi Hongbo was arrested by police on October 14th, 2008. Mr. Shi was later subjected to forced labour and physically abused and tortured at the Dalian Forced Labour Camp. He was covertly transferred to the Weiningying Law “Transformation” Centre (a brainwashing centre) in Benxi City in September 2009, where he was shocked with electric batons and subjected to beatings. He developed symptoms of serious illnesses and was released on April 1st, 2010. Mr. Shi developed a persistent high fever, coughed, and weakened steadily. He died on February 28th, 2011.
  • Ms. Zhang Ying Dies Away from Home

    Prior to learning Falun Gong, Ms. Zhang Ying suffered for many years with life-threatening illness. After practising Falun Gong in 1997, she became well. But after the persecution began, her workplace forced Ms. Zhang to choose between giving up Falun Gong or being fired. Ms. Zhang had to to give up her job, as otherwise she would die from her illnesses. Ten years of moving from place to place to make a living, coupled with ongoing pressure from the large-scale persecution, placed a great deal of stress on Ms. Zhang. Her health deteriorated and she found out that she had breast cancer in 2008. She died in 2009 in Huachuan City, far from home.
  • Ms. Wang Yijin of Shanghai Suffers Persecution at Qingpu Brainwashing Centre

    The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) 610 Offices (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) across China have established countless brainwashing centres to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. Ms. Wang Yijin from Chongming County of Shanghai was forced to undergo mental torture for 87 days at the Qingpu Brainwashing Centre, which is typical of the many brainwashing centres across China.
  • Researchers Unravel Horrors in China

    The story was hard to stomach—gruesome, at the very least. What started as a rumour, however, would later unfold into a campaign of brutality and horror perpetrated by the Chinese regime. International human rights lawyer David Matas was in his office when the story broke in March 2006. It flowed into his e-mail box along with the flood of human rights updates he reads daily. It told the story of a woman under the pseudonym “Annie,” whose husband suffered nightmares, as he suffered for the terror he had inflicted on more than 2,000 people. Annie said her husband, a surgeon, was employed by the Chinese regime to remove the corneas from living Falun Gong practitioners, slicing their eyes open with his scalpel while they were still alive. The rest of their organs were also stripped from their bodies, all to feed a market of illicit organ trade.
  • Mr. Ji Ruiling and Ms. Ji Junyun from Handan City, Hebei Province Sentenced and their Family Cheated out of a Lot of Money

    Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Ji Ruiling and Ms. Ji Junyun are siblings from Handan City, Hebei Province. The local police fabricated their “crimes”, so they were sentenced in 2010. Mr. Ji Ruiling, 60, was sentenced to three years in prison while Ms. Ji Junyun, 50, was sentenced to 3 years and 2 months. The police also extorted more than 100,000 yuan from their family. Both brother and sister are honest people. When doing business, they were honest, fair and generous to their customers, no matter their age. They never cheated anyone. Therefore, they were well liked and had many loyal customers.
  • Falun Gong Practitioners from Heyuan City, Guangdong Province Detained

    Because they practised Falun Gong Mr. Huang Jin, Mr. Ye Zhijian and Ms. Deng Shi'e were arrested on August 12th, 2007. They were sentenced to six years, five years and four years in prison, respectively. They still have not been released. Ms. Huang Yuying was released after having been imprisoned for six years. Shortly after her release, she was once again arrested on July 18th, 2010 in Boluo County, Huizhou City, and was sentenced to five years in prison.
  • Persecution Suffered by a Mother of Three Young Children in Forced Labour Camp

    Ms. Tian Xiufen, a Falun Gong practitioner, is a mother of three. She has been persecuted frequently by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) for following the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. She was arrested on September 7th, 2009 by the city police, and was then taken to a forced labour camp. She wasn't released until August 24th, 2010. The night after her release, several police officers harassed her at home.
  • Doctor Cao Chunqiang Dies after Beatings and Forced Labour

    Doctor Cao Chunqiang used to have his own clinic in the Sanhekou Community in Longmen Town. Because he practised Falun Gong, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) personnel kept harassing him, forcing him to close the clinic in May 2004 and find other work. In 2006, police arrested him. Seven officers beat and kicked him brutally, severely injuring his head, ear, and genitals. Police said he was arrested for practising Falun Gong, and giving people materials exposing the persecution of Falun Gong. His left ear festered, and his other injuries were not treated. Police had him do forced labour in a detention centre for 18 months, then took him to the Xinhua Men's Forced Labour Camp. In 2007, the authorities had to release him due to his ill health. Mr. Cao died of liver cancer on January 4th, 2010. He was 37 years old.
  • Nine Years of Imprisonment: Ms. Wang Jinfan, 57, Recounts the Persecution She Suffered

    Ms. Wang Jinfan has been persecuted repeatedly by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) since the start of the persecution in July 1999. She was sentenced to more than ten years of imprisonment in 2002. She recounts: "Police broke into my home on July 16th, 2000. They ransacked the place, confiscated Falun Gong books and took me to the police station. Officer Chen used a torture method called "carrying a sword on the back" in which one arm is forced up and over the shoulder and the other is forced up behind one's back. Then the two are tightly linked with handcuffs. He slapped my face dozens of times until my face swelled. He dragged me to the centre of the room and kicked my back really hard. He grasped the handcuffs, lifted me up, and swung me. All my weight was on my wrists. I couldn't stand the excruciating pain and cried out. It felt like my right arm was dislocated. My wrists bled from the handcuffs."
  • Twelve Falun Gong Practitioners from Cao County, Shandong Province Arrested, Abused and Sent to Forced Labour Camps

    A dozen practitioners from Cao County, Shandong Province were recently sentenced to forced labour. Zhao Wenxing, Sun Hongru, and Jiang Xuejun were each sentenced to one year and six months. Ge Xiurong, Tao Ping, and Liang Ping were sentenced to two years of forced labour. These practitioners are currently detained in Jinan Forced Labour Camp. While he was making a phone call on his mobile phone, practitioner Sun Guodong's whereabouts were tracked down and he was taken into custody.
