Ms. Wang Huimin Tortured in Liaoning Province Women’s Prison

Ms. Wang Huimin is a practitioner in Yingkou City, Liaoning Province. After she began practising Falun Gong, her illnesses disappeared and she became very kind and considerate of other people. However, she was arrested in 2004 and sentenced to six years of imprisonment. Guards of Liaoning Province Women’s Prison ordered criminal inmates to torture her. Inmates tie Ms. Wang up with her arms restrained behind her back. She was not given any food and was denied access to a toilet. Two inmates were assigned to watch her 24 hours a day. Guards forced her to sit on a small stool (30 cm x 20 cm) and recite the prison rules. She was abused this way for one month. -
The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Disregards the Law and Holds Secret Court Session to Sentence a Falun Gong Practitioner
2012-01-27Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liu Fenglan was recently arrested by Chinese Communist Party (CCP) personnel on unwarranted charges. Her family went to the Dongzhou District Procuratorate of Fushun to inquire about her situation on December 27th. Wang Zhi from the Public Prosecution Section told her family by phone: “She was sentenced earlier.” The family asked when the sentence was handed down, on what charges and for how many years, and they were told, “Go ask the court.” -
After Becoming Healthy Practising Falun Gong, Ms. Yu Kaihong Was Detained in Forced Labour Camps Twice and Is Now in a Detention Centre
2012-01-26In May 2011, Ms. Yu Kaihong went to Yueyang County to talk to people about Falun Gong. She was arrested by agents from the local 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong). She has been detained for more than eight months. Ms. Yu has been arrested and detained in a forced labour camp twice before. -
Ms. Jiang Lei Tortured with the “Death Bed” in Liaoning Province Women's Prison
2012-01-26On April 24th, 2008, police arrested 40 Falun Gong practitioners, including Ms. Jiang Lei. The police also ransacked Ms. Jiang's home and took away a desktop computer, laptop, printer, mobile phone, and other property. Ms. Jiang was taken to the Huanren Detention Centre. Later on, she was sentenced to five years in prison and sent to Shenyang Women's Prison. The guards handcuffed Ms. Jiang's hands and feet to a metal bed, separately. This is called the “death bed” torture. As a result, she developed tuberculosis and heart problems. -
Ms. Song Caihong Dies after Severe Beatings in Detention
2012-01-25Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Song Caihong was reported while handing out calendars that contained information exposing the persecution and was arrested by police and severely beaten. She died on January 15th at the age of 41. Prior to this latest experience of persecution, Ms. Song was subjected to brutal torture in Masanjia Forced Labour Camp for three years. She was later sentenced to five years in prison at the Liaoning Province Women's Prison. -
Shuangcheng Police Arrest Ten Falun Gong Practitioners for “Disturbing the Peace,” Despite the Fact That the Practitioners Were at Home
2012-01-25Police officers from Shuangcheng, Heilongjiang Province, arrested more than ten Falun Gong practitioners and ransacked their homes between December 7th and 12th. In one day alone, in what seems to have been a stepped up attack on the peaceful Falun Gong, officers from the Heilongjiang Police Department, the Harbin Police Department, and the Shuangcheng Domestic Security Division arrested 56 practitioners on November 13th. -
Retired Nurse Loses Her Sight After Forced Application of Eye Medicine While Imprisoned
2012-01-24Ms. Huang Xiuying, 76, was arrested on January 10th, 2010 for speaking with people about Falun Gong. She was later taken to the Chengdu Women's Prison and subjected to brainwashing. She could not see clearly after one year. On March 3rd, 2011, guards took Ms. Huang to the Jintang Prison Hospital to get medical treatment in both eyes. The guards and the doctors pinned down Ms. Hang and administered eye drops into her eyes, using four different kinds of eye drops that were alternately used every two hours. It resulted in blindness in both eyes after 14 days. -
Mr. Qin Yueming Tortured to Death, His Wife and Daughter Sent to Labour Camp
2012-01-24Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Qin Yueming was tortured to death in Jiamusi Prison on February 26th, 2011. After his family's persistent efforts, the Heilongjiang High Procuratorate finally accepted their appeal. Three months have passed, and the case still hasn't reached the court. In the meantime, Mr. Qin's wife Ms. Wang Xiuqing, and daughter, Ms. Qin Hailong, were arrested on November 13th and imprisoned at the Qianjing Forced Labour Camp in Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province. -
Practitioners Song Zhiyu and Wang Yaheng Sent to Prison, Their Attorneys Beaten and Arrested
2012-01-23Mr. Song Zhiyu and Mr. Wang Yaheng were recently each sentenced to three and a half years in prison and sent to the Baoanzhao Prison in Xingan Meng, Inner Mongolia. In order to prevent their attorneys from defending them, Chinese Communist Party (CCP) police beat the attorneys and arrested them before the hearings. -
Practitioners in Shuangcheng City Facing Forced Labour
2012-01-23On November 13th, 2011, several dozen Falun Gong practitioners in Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province, were arrested by police. They were detained at the Shuangcheng City Detention Centre and the Harbin City Second Detention Centre. All of the detained practitioners were sentenced to two years of forced labour. They have refused to accept the sentences. When the families were bringing clothes and daily necessities to the practitioners they were informed that the practitioners were holding a hunger strike to protest the detention and mistreatment, and that the guards at the detention centre had already started force-feeding them. -
Employee of Liaohe Oil Field in Critical Condition After Being Tortured in Liaoning Women's Prison
2012-01-22Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Hu Zhehui is in critical condition after being tortured in Liaoning Women's Prison. She is 5'5” tall and now weighs only 88 lbs. To avoid persecution from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), Ms. Hu had to leave her home. On August 3rd, 2005, she returned home to visit her daughter, but she was followed and arrested. The officers severely beat and tortured her using many torture devices. When she went on a hunger strike to protest her arrest, she was brutally force-fed. She was stretched and bound all day for 39 days, and was unable to move her arms or legs. She was on the verge of death after the long-term torture. -
A Xiangyang Court Claims, “The Falun Gong Practitioner Will Be Sentenced Even If His Attorney Wins the Case”
2012-01-22On August 12th, several elementary school students tried to sell newspapers to Mr. Zhao Guojiang. Mr. Zhao gave one of the students a Falun Gong DVD, and the student reported Mr. Zhao to a patrolling policeman. The policeman took Mr. Zhao to the Renminlu Police Station. The police found some Falun Gong DVDs in Mr. Zhao's bag and transferred him to the Fancheng Administration Detention Centre. On August 14th, when his detention term was about to end, Mr. Zhao was transferred to the Fangcheng Second Detention Centre. The Fancheng District Procuratorates issued a summons against Mr. Zhao. When Mr. Zhao's family told Judge Feng that they had already hired an attorney, Judge Feng said Mr. Zhao would be sentenced even if the attorney won the case, that it was no use hiring an attorney, that it was just wasted money. -
39-Year-Old Mr. Li Shangrong Dies after Ten Years of Imprisonment
2012-01-21Shenyang City Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Li Shangrong was arrested in December 2000 and sentenced to ten years in prison. After ten years of imprisonment, he was emaciated when he returned home. He recounted: "During a physical examination, it was discovered that there were cavities in my lungs. Because I resisted the so-called “transformation” [forcibly renounce Falun Gong] carried out by the prison, my family was not allowed to visit me during 2009-2010. I had a constant fever, and my weight dropped from 194 pounds in 2000 to 115 pounds when I was released.” He passed away on December 30th. -
Mr. Liu Guifu, 61, from Heilongjiang Province Arrested Again after Being Imprisoned for Six Years
2012-01-21Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Liu Guifu, 61, was arrested while doing work on the farm on September 5th, and taken to a detention centre by police. This occurred during the autumn harvest season. The family has requested the release of Mr. Liu multiple times but has been rejected. In 2003 Mr. Liu was detained in the Fangzheng County Second Detention Centre for six months, then was transferred to Daqing Prison in April 2004, where he was tortured, forced to sit on steel channels and steel ingots, deprived of sleep, and forced to stand on cold floor tiles. Wooden boards were used to beat him, and blood came through his trousers. One blister on his hip was as big as an egg yolk. -
Five Family Members from Jilin Province Suffer Repeat Persecution and a Death
2012-01-20Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liang Xiuzhen and her family have been repeatedly persecuted for 12 years. One of them died due to torture, and five of them were subjected to forced labour or sentenced to jail eight times. She recounts her experience: "In 2002, officer Jiang Jinglao gave orders for me to be given an injection of unknown drugs that affected my nervous system, causing me to walk abnormally with pain in my left leg for over nine years...My son-in-law was arrested in 2004 for printing materials exposing the persecution of Falun Gong. He was sentenced to ten years and incarcerated at Kongzhuling Prison. He was brutally tortured in the prison and died on September 15th, 2010."
