Less than a month after being arrested, Ms. Zhao was dead. Photographs taken by her family on May 10th indicate her death was horrifyingly brutal. Ms. Zhao’s face and body were covered with dark purple and blue bruises, there was a large open wound in the back of her head, her clothes were covered in blood and four of her ribs were fractured.

Practitioners raised questions with the chairman of the UN commission about the continuing persecution of Falun Gong in China and the issue of immunity for dictators. The panellists explained from different angles and affirmed that the persecution of Falun Gong by the Chinese government has caught the attention of human rights organisations and led to condemnation by those organisations.

During the recent experience sharing conference in Russia activities were orgainsed to let more people know about Falun Gong. In the time between these activities, Finnish Falun Dafa practitioners visited the Finnish Embassy in Moscow to tell them the facts about Falun Dafa and the brutal persecution that has been happening for over four years in China.

People were shocked: How could this be happening in China? The reason for the persecution is simply because so many Falun Gong practitioners were trying to be good people. One after another, the Chinese visitors started to sign their names on a signature collection book that is being used to bring Jiang to justice and to rescue Xiong Wei, a German practitioner currently being illegally detained in China.

On August 6, 2003, his physical condition worsened. The police from Chengdu City then ordered his family to go to the hospital, where they were forced to sign a statement guaranteeing that they would never try to hold the police responsible. Then his family was allowed to carry him back home. The people from Zhao Yong's hometown who saw his condition were all in tears. On August 31, 2003, Zhao Yong died at a young age.

In the classes, these people openly call themselves local thugs and evil heads sent by Satan. When persecuting Dafa practitioners they are more base, deceitful and cruel than anyone before them. The assistant director of the "610 Office," Xie Xiaofeng was appointed Party secretary of the brainwashing centre. Xie Xiaofeng has authorised the team leader, Li Wei, to use any means to "transform" Dafa practitioners. Before coming to Etouwan Brainwashing Centre, Li Wei had graduated from the police academy and worked in the Public Safety Department, where he had viciously beaten many innocent people, often to the point of disability.

The Dayangshu policemen could not find Mr. Li Jinrong, so they detained his eldest son in the detention centre as a hostage, and his son did not even practise Falun Gong. After learning the news, Mr. Li Jinrong went back to ask for the release of his son, and was thus captured by the police. His son was released after being held for 15 days, but Li Jinrong wasn't set free until 8 months later, and only then after his family continually demanded his release.

When she was sent to the hospital, the doctor told her that she must receive immediate medical treatment within one hour the next time she suffers the same symptoms, otherwise she faced the danger of going blind. When the doctor inquired as to how she had received such an injury, Sun Limin, the policeman who accompanied her, stopped her from telling the doctor. By this time, Shan Jinying could no longer eat any food. She required two people's help to hold her up, and she was emaciated.

The Coalition’s mission statement says that it "is dedicated to protecting the future of humanity by mobilising concerned groups and individuals worldwide with the purpose of stopping persecution and genocide in its tracks. The Coalition is committed to exposing the crimes against humanity as committed by Jiang Zemin and his accomplices."

The Falun Dafa booth displayed Falun Dafa books in more than 30 languages. As China is persecuting Falun Gong, the booth looked prominent at the book fair. Many people asked for information and materials about the facts of Falun Gong, and raised questions.

On September 20, Connecticut Falun Gong practitioners participated in the 3rd Connecticut Dragon Boat Festival held at the state capital of Hartford. We demonstrated Falun Gong exercises and performed dances for the audience, and both the exercise demonstration and dance performance were warmly received.

Ever since the pre-Qin period, through the successive dynasties, Chinese thinkers have searched tirelessly for the eternal Great Tao that Confucius and Lao Zi praised so highly. Where did the Great Tao come from and why and when did it decline? Is there any force that can rectify and renew the origin, and bring about a radical change in the universe? When people have tried all means to seek the Great Tao, they have had to face a question that no one can escape: where does humanity come from?
