'I am very concerned about the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners that is taking place in the PRC and obviously therefore I share the concern expressed in this demonstration today at the risk that the proposed article 23 legislation in Hong Kong may leads to repression in Hong Kong itself.'

Every day practitioners held an introductory session in a large room nearby where they spent an hour teaching the Falun Gong exercises. They also told the audience about the horrific persecution that is taking place in China at the moment and how millions of innocent Falun Gong practitioners are being persecuted because they want to improve their health and moral standards.

We call for action from governmental organisations, media, human rights organisations and all good people to help safeguard the universal principles of “truthfulness, compassion and forbearance” and to help bring an end to this unprecedented disaster...Most importantly, we call for the release of all Falun Gong practitioners who are illegally detained.

Just for revealing the facts about Falun Dafa, in December 2001 Yuan Lin was abducted and imprisoned. She has since endured torture and horrors that cannot be imagined even in our worst nightmares. Now it is not known where she is, or if she is dead or alive…

Zhu Houyou had very poor health and suffered from various illnesses before practicing Falun Dafa. After practicing Falun Dafa his health improved and he found it a pleasure to help others. When Zhu Houyou was arrested, all his neighbours and people who knew him just could not understand why a good person like him should be taken away. It really did not make sense. Now Zhu Houyou is being tortured in the Benxi forced labour camp.

A practitioner found a huge sum of lost money, and returned it to the owner, who was so grateful that he offered the practitioner a monetary reward. However, the practitioner declined and told him that he was a Falun Gong practitioner. So the owner wrote a commendatory letter to the local radio station, who were told as long as Falun Gong was involved, no matter how good the person, or how moving the story, no report should be broadcast.

Oona King MP wrote on 19 November: "I agree with the [UK] Government in opposing the Chinese suppression of religions and practices such as Falun Gong."

'The guise of secession and subversion, combined with increased police power, would turn Hong Kong into a police state. Not only this, but questions would arise over the safety of the media, business and other sectors of society.'

On December 8, Falun Gong practitioners once again went to the Chinese Embassy in Berlin. They called for the release of Xiong Wei, who was arrested in Beijing last January when she was distributing materials about the truth of persecution of Falun Gong.

When talking about the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners, the president of the International Human Rights Association condemned the Chinese government as a “dictatorship without morals,” and the persecution as a “vicious circle of violence.”

Falun Gong practitioners were specially invited to attend the Fairfield City Council Meeting. Many council members expressed their support of Falun Gong and suggested the creation of a stela on which the words "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance" are written.

Falun Dafa practitioners rented two booths at the "Psychology Science Exhibition" held in the Agriculture University of Bangkok. They hung up banners written in Chinese, English and Thai and set up a TV to play the Falun Dafa exercises tape and programs revealing details about the brutal persecution in China.

The Executive Director of Friends of Falun Gong USA talks about the persecution in China and how Falun Gong practitioners are suffering. In this speech he makes suggestions for the Commission to make more efforts to help improve the situation in China.

'Reporters Without Borders expressed great concern today about the future of press freedom in Hong Kong and called on the European Union (EU) to take a stand against a proposed national security law.'

'Many Hong Kong residents have expressed concern that the proposed new laws could curtail freedoms in the territory. Human rights and press groups have also condemned the bill.'

Ms. Liu's husband said, "Please treat those practitioners well; they are innocent people." The secretary replied, "You bet. I know they are all good people. I'm not going to persecute them or anything."
