'The European Falun Dafa Association opposes the proposed legislation to implement Article 23 of the Basic Law.'

On December 19, 2002 the European Parliament will be voting on a resolution against the ominous Article 23 legislation in Hong Kong. Practitioners will be holding a press conference at 11 am on 19 December at which the following MEPs will be speaking:

Dafa practitioners held some activities on this day to tell people about the brutal persecution being inflicted on millions of innocent practitioners in China. They also wanted people to see through the Jiang regime’s attempts to spread their terror tactics into the free society of Hong Kong by introducing Article 23.

In this dark and evil place, her only recourse to stand up against this illegal and unjustified detention was to go on hunger strike. The response from the cold-hearted authorities? She was brutally force-fed for a month, causing her unimaginable pain and internal rupturing.

How can I forget your smiles, encouragement and friendship? Can you hear my voice from the bottom of my heart? All kind-hearted people with our conscience let us make the right choice between right and wrong. Please stretch out your hand and lend your support.

Immediately after the dangerous force-feeding, these two practitioners were handcuffed and severely tortured, seriously harming their physical and mental health and robbing them of all dignity. After the severe torture, one of the practitioners was diagnosed as having serious illnesses including nephritis, pleurisy and ascites.

"I have received a number of representations expressing concern about the proposed Article that would appear to take your government one step closer to proscribing Falun Gong as an illegal organisation. You will be well aware of the hostility to any such a move that is shared across the international community."

The President of the Human Rights association criticised the Hong Kong government for its proposed "anti-subversion law" and elaborated on the legislation's harmful effects on Hong Kong's freedom and democracy.

'Critics charge that such a law will put in place Mainland Chinese conditions in Hong Kong and would furthermore undermine one of Hong Kong’s most-treasured prerogatives, the tradition of British prescriptive law and judicial system.'

If you tolerate the Jiang regime today, you will be the unlucky ones tomorrow. Because by enacting these laws, you open up loopholes for the dictatorship to exploit. It cannot be denied that indulgent civilians breed the selfish desires of the dictator. The weaker you appear, the more evil they become.
