Mr. Alistair Carmichael, MP for Orkney and Shetland, stated, “If we allow ourselves to be seen as tolerating such abuses, the danger is that the view from inside China will be that we are more than tolerating them—that we accept and agree with them. That would be entirely regrettable.”

The Expo organizers had gained a very good impression of Falun Dafa from the 2001 Expo and invited practitioners to introduce Falun Gong again at the 2002 Expo. During the 4-day expo, a large number of people visited the Falun Gong booth and asked for introductory materials.

Mr. Xu was expelled from Zhongshan University. He was later arrested and sentenced to 18-months in Tuanhe labour camp...his passport has since expired, leaving him with no way to obtain a visa and rejoin his wife in the Netherlands. His wife, Ms. Deng Qing commented; “The last time I saw him was two years ago, I don’t know when I will be able to have a reunion with him”.

The cause of their deaths are routinely concealed and deceptively labeled as due to "natural causes" in an attempt by officials to escape responsibility for murder, it said."

The vicious police didn't allow Yuan Zhongyu's family to see the body. They claimed they would have the body inspected by a provincial agency. After a long time, they notified Yuan's family to cremate the body but did not want them to see the body. When the guard was not looking, one family member saw scars on the body and the chest and stomach was black and blue.

She had endured numerous forms of torture. These included, withstanding severe cold in the dead of winter, scorching heat in the summer, sleep deprivation, high voltage electrical shocks from electric batons, and "tying the rope" torture...Under order by the police, the staff there deprived her of sleep for 6 days and nights and continuously tortured her.

It is a very terrible thing for Jiang's regime to use innocent children as means and resource to achieve their dirty and political objectives, to feed lies and hatred into children's minds, to attempt to drive children away from and to hold hatred for the universal principle of Truth-Compassion-Forbearance.

The Public Security Bureau told the murderer, "You should say that you practise Falun Gong -- if you blame everything on Falun Gong we will waive the death penalty." The local residents knew that she didn't practise Falun Gong at all, but the authorities intimidated them into silence.

Dr Stephen Ladyman MP said “this is an issue about which I am deeply concerned”. Dr Ladyman has raised the issue with both the HK authorities and the UK Foreign Ministry.

"You may be pleased to learn that the human rights situation in Hong Kong has received serious attention within the European Parliament on many occasions. The persecution of the Falun Gong practitioners and general respect for human rights has been debated and MEPs have used their position to highlight the situation and apply pressure on the Commission and Council for action."

"Amnesty International is disappointed that the need to implement Article 23 of the Basic Law has not led to the removal of archaic laws and the development of legislation in line with human rights and international laws and standards. Instead the authorities have included more offences, many of which have the potential to conflict with human rights standards."

Practitioners walked through Chinatown holding a large banner reading "Rescue Our Family Members and Bring Them Home". At the front were dozens of practitioners whose family members are being persecuted in China. Wearing sashes reading, "Please Help Rescue Our Family Members" and carrying pictures of their family members, they called upon the public for support.

Recently, Falun Gong practitioners' exercise demonstration at a health expo in Taiwan attracted the attention of many people who wondered how the practitioners could do sitting meditation so peacefully in a crowded environment.

My wife does not practice but has a very positive view of Dafa. I have often thought that this has come from my being a good practitioner, and my influencing her view of Falun Gong. Actually, I have realised recently that it may not be me who has influenced her perception of Falun Gong, but her contact with many other Falun Gong practitioners.
