We have been informed about ongoing repressions and violence against Falun Gong supporters...Arbitrary detentions, imprisonment without fair trial, abuse, torture and death in police custody should come to an end. We urge China to respect freedom of worship, freedom of opinion and the individual rights of Chinese citizens.

Whatever the line taken by the new leadership of the Party, the desire to eradicate Falun Gong is totally absurd and doomed to failure. Inner freedom cannot be destroyed, even by the most powerful tools of suppression.

In October 2000, she was illegally detained in Beijing because she appealed for Falun Gong. She was transferred and kept in a drug clinic for 2 months. During this time, she was separated from her 2-month-old baby, who she was breastfeeding at the time.

In order to frame Jiang Honglu, the Mishan Police Department tried to force him to admit that he had attacked the police while being chased and shot at. Jiang Honglu firmly denied the charge, so the police beat him up brutally. Jiang passed out, and after he regained consciousness, the police continued to coerce him. However, the police failed to extort a confession from Jiang no matter what torture methods they used on him.

But the police used dreadfully brutal means to torture him. His painful screams truly horrified me. I was not able to look at his face, as he was in indescribable pain from the torture. Eventually, Dong could not help but agree to cooperate with the police and slander Falun Gong. Even so, the police were still angry, and told Dong to crawl on the floor and bark like a dog. What happened before my eyes made me realize that all the propaganda by Jiang's regime against Falun Gong is false.

Prior to the 16th Party Congress in November 2002, the local police broke into the baby's home and tried to force his parents, who are non-practitioners, to tell them where his grandfather lived--but his parents didn't know. Then, without saying another word the police arrested both parents and sent them along with the baby to a detention centre.

On November 30, 2002, the Eastern United States Falun Dafa Experience Sharing Conference was held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, with about two thousand Falun Gong practitioners from the Eastern United States and all over the world in attendance.

Chinese folklore is full of ancient stories of cultivation, immortals and taoists. These stories reflect the depth to which the concept of cultivation permeates the whole of Chinese culture, tradition and history. These stories are not directly related to Falun Gong, but are included on Clear Harmony because they are of interest to people, providing an insight into the deep cultural tradition of cultivation practise in China.
