On October 19th, the dark clouds densely covered the whole of Munich and the rain was cold. But when Dafa practitioners unfolded the Dafa banner reading, “Falun Dafa” in front of the consulate, the sky above the consulate began to clear up.

Following the first Falun Dafa Day in Biskopsgården, this is the second Falun Dafa Day in Gothenburg city.

The Police Sergeant stood in front of the boards for over half an hour before he asked to sign our petition. He then chatted with the practitioners. He talked to a young practitioner, who shared his cultivation experiences with him. Afterwards, the sergeant said, “ I’d like to try Falun Gong, too”.

"President Bush might readdress the importance of respect for the religious freedoms, which mainly refers to issues on Falun Gong. A latest report from US Department of State mentioned China’s persecution of Falun Gong practitioners several times.”

Students at the University of Texas in Arlington, said that the FACSS organization emailed a waiver form to Chinese students requiring any who will go to welcome Jiang as part of their Welcoming Group sign an agreement in which they publicly relinquish their right to express their opinion with any other organization(s) in any form of protest. The email came with a threat of a legal action being taken against any student who did not comply with signing the waiver to relinquish their right to freedom of expression.

On the evening of October 15, 2002, a group of western Falun Gong practitioners studied the teachings of Falun Dafa and held a discussion at a practitioner's home. When one of them returned home afterwards, he was shocked by what had happened. The talk he had at the other practitioner's home had been recorded and broadcast back into his answering machine.

He is afraid to have the truth exposed. U.S. government entities and the people of the USA support Falun Gong practitioners' human rights and have issued many proclamations to that effect, which is the best answer for the dictator.

"China's President Jiang Zemin is stopping in Chicago Tuesday on his way to meet with President Bush in Texas. Human rights activists are making sure China's poor human rights record is on the summit's agenda."

"China's behavior in regard to human rights is appalling..Why does America need enemies when it has friends like China? America and President Bush should not reward dictators the ilk of Jiang Zemin with improved trade status, the lifting of sanctions, or barbecues in Crawford. America should return to the era of recognizing and defending democracy, not just those in power. Bush should concede nothing to Zemin."

"About 750 protesters representing several countries held a demonstration in the Chicago Loop, protesting Zemin's treatment of Falun Gong practitioners in China."

"Human rights groups urged President Bush Tuesday to press Chinese President Jiang Zemin to free political prisoners and curb abuses against a Muslim ethnic group when the leaders meet in Texas this week. A group of followers of the Falun Gong spiritual movement, banned in China since 1999, also said they were taking legal action against Jiang through the United Nations for crimes committed during a crackdown on their faith."

Currently, plainclothes policemen are stationed both inside and outside the building where Li Hongwei's family lives. Anyone who visits them is being followed. All family members, without exception, are placed under threat, surveillance, and tight control by the police departments. However, those who have lost their loved one claim, with tears in their eyes, "We will bring the murderers to justice!" We are worried about the safety of the family and relatives.

Practitioner Su Baolan from Anqiu City was forcibly sent to a brainwashing class by her husband in mid-October 2001. Later that month, her body was discovered in a river. The local police, the "610 Office", and her husband all remained silent, unwilling to discuss the cause of her death.

One practitioner was illegally detained for going to appeal in Beijing. As soon as he was arrested, dozens of people from the local police station and town government rushed into his home, took away everything they could remove, including the doors and windows, and smashed everything else. They even took the clothes of the practitioner's grandson, who was less than one year old, and threw them into the river. The police threatened other local citizens, "We can do whatever we want, and we will handcuff anyone who disagrees." A lot of similar incidents have happened in Xinjin County.

On October 17, 2002, Falun Gong practitioners from San Diego and Los Angeles, together with California government officials and numerous citizens, gathered at the square of San Diego City's Conference Centre to take part in the celebration of the first "California Falun Dafa Month."

The team on the Atlanta-Birmingham-Tyler-Houston "Rescue Our Family Members and Get Them Home" route drove 10 hours and arrived in Tyler on October 19th. They held a press conference to introduce Falun Dafa to local media and exposed the brutal persecutions against Falun Gong practitioners in China.

"Widespread recourse to the death penalty in China reflects a regime that has lost the ability to govern. The Chinese Communist Party came to power through violence (especially within its own ranks) and has maintained it in the same way..The party's continued failure to address society's needs rather than crush them -- seen most starkly in the crackdown on the Falun Gong [spiritual group] -- is creating resentment and alienation across the country."

"Bishop Zen's succession has raised concerns over the sometimes stormy relationship between the Church and the SAR government. He has already clashed with the authorities on controversial issues such as the Falun Gong spiritual group, and right of abode. Last month the bishop criticised the proposed anti-subversion law."

Chinese folklore is full of ancient stories of cultivation, immortals and taoists. These stories reflect the depth to which the concept of cultivation permeates the whole of Chinese culture, tradition and history. These stories are not directly related to Falun Gong, but are included on Clear Harmony because they are of interest to western people, providing an insight into the deep cultural tradition of cultivation practices in China.
