· France: First 'Truthfulness Compassion Tolerance Art Exhibition' Held in Ceyrat

On September 25th, 2006, a 'Truthfulness Compassion Tolerance Art Exhibition” was held in Ceyrat, a city in the Auvergne province in central France. La Montagne (the largest newspaper in the Auvergne), The Ceyrat Infos (a local newspaper in Ceyrat) and The Info (a free newspaper with a circulation volume as high as 200,000 across the Auvergne) all carried reports about the art exhibition before the grand opening.

People view the paintings displayed in the Truthfulness Compassion Tolerance art exhibition

In an introductory article that appeared in La Montagne, it was mentioned that the art exhibition depicts the real situation of the Chinese communist regime’s persecution of Falun Gong, a cultivation way based on the Buddha School. By revealing the torture and hatred that Falun Gong practitioners have endured, the exhibition delivers a strong appeal for hope and peace. The paintings impress viewers with noble sentiment and magnificent brevity. The newspaper also reminded readers that in Tuesday’s opening ceremony there would be a dancing performance by the 'Feitian Dance Group', followed by a lecture given by Mr. Wu Baozhang, former director of Radio France Internationale (RFI)’s Chinese branch, about the contemporary human rights situation in China.

The art exhibition was held in a 600 square metre ballroom at Espace Culture et Congrs Henri Biscarrat in Ceyrat. Falun Gong practitioner Mathieu, who helped organise the exhibition, explained that the painting exhibition consists of four parts. The first part is to introduce Falun Gong and show the glorious cultivation tradition in Chinese culture. The second part is to describe the persecution that Falun Gong practitioners are suffering in China. The paintings reveal various forms of torture endured by Falun Gong practitioners and depict practitioners’ gestures of justice and non-violence in the face of the persecution. The third part is to arouse people’s concern and introduce Falun Gong practitioners’ efforts worldwide, aiming to stop the persecution. The last part is the victory of justice. Through artistic work, artists express their perspectives about the future, in which justice will be restored and the vicious will be prosecuted once the persecution ends and the facts are clarified.

The forty-four pieces of art work displayed in the exhibition are creations of seventeen Chinese and western artists from different countries. They are all Falun Gong practitioners. Among them, four have been tortured in China. The persecution depicted in their paintings has truly happened in China.

One common characteristic shared by all of the exhibited art work is that the artists have infused their cultivation experiences and belief in Falun Gong into their creations to express the pursuit of truthfulness, compassion and tolerance. People’s hearts were deeply moved by their artistic expressions.

There was a national bicycle race in Ceyrat one day before the painting exhibition. The race attracted more than two thousand participants and an audience from all over the country. Mr. Herve Druaux, chairman of French National Bicycle Race, invited Mathieu to the rostrum to introduce the painting exhibition after he understood the information to be delivered in the exhibition.

On the first day of the exhibition, a visitor left remarks in the guest book, “The power of expression of the displayed paintings is very strong. The message conveyed by the artists deserves our careful consideration.”

A local resident of Ceyrat with painting background said she was shocked by the exhibition. She commented that she did not know about the persecution until attending the exhibition because the local media seldom mentioned it. She added that the paintings had outstanding power of expression because a lot of information was represented realistically. The paintings were very touching, they were beautiful, but the persecution stories depicted by them were horrible. She specifically pointed out the brave facial expressions of the practitioners painted in the art work and the hope aroused by artists’ utilization of rays of light. The painting exhibition also awakened her conscience. She said she would think carefully what she could do to help stop the persecution.

The vice president associated with Ceyrat Family Association and a secretary said they felt distressed after seeing the paintings because they could not imagine such brutality still existed in the modern world. They said, “After committing such brutality and violence, the Chinese communist regime will still host the Olympics Games and they are sending astronauts to the Moon! This simply makes me feel extremely uncomfortable. The only word I can think of is ‘horrible’. I cannot imagine how our politicians could cut business deals with a regime like this. I can hardly imagine it. I am terrified.”

The vice president said, “The Chinese communist regime thought they could weed out Falun Gong practitioners. But it is impossible to eliminate such spirits. It is still possible that we can make a change. We will see justice will overwhelm evilness.”

· Ukraine: Falun Gong Practitioners in Kramatorsk are Invited to Participate in the City Festival

Kramatorsk is a city in the northeast of Ukraine and has a population of about 200,000. Though not so big, it is the first city in Ukraine where people practiced Falun Dafa. The practice has been very popular in the city, and several local government agencies have declared their support for Falun Dafa.

On September 24th, 2006, the city once again held its annual City Festival. Every year, the Department of Cultural Development is responsible for inviting several arts organizations, schools and cultural associations to perform, in order to enrich the festival. However, it is not so easy to be invited by the Cultural Department, as the application must be approved by the department beforehand. This year, prior to the festival, a person in charge of this matter came across a Falun Gong practitioner. He took the initiative to specifically invite Falun Dafa practitioners to participate, saying, "We enjoy your programs very much. Why don't you submit your application as soon as possible? I look forward to seeing you during the festival."

During the festival, many activities were held in a park in the downtown area. Throughout the activities, practitioners displayed banners worded, "Falun Dafa" in Chinese, and, "Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance" in Russian. In addition, there were poster boards introducing Falun Dafa's wide spread across the world, the Chinese Communist regime's persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners and the Chinese regime's harvesting of organs from living people. Two tables were set up next to the display boards. One was for those who wished to sign the petition calling for an end to the persecution, and the other was exclusively for children to learn how to make folded paper lotus flowers.

During the celebration, a manager of the municipal museum, who came to watch the program, approached Falun Gong practitioners to express his appreciation and praised them for a wonderful job. He said, "You are different from other groups and your programs are very unique."

The practitioners demonstrated the five sets of Falun Gong exercises along with the music, which attracted many people to come over to watch. During the exercise demonstration, practitioners explained the facts about Falun Dafa. After learning the facts, many people signed the petition to condemn the Chinese Communist regime's atrocities. Among them, a middle-aged man told the practitioners that he has practiced yoga for many years, and was able to see scenes in other dimensions. He said, "When passing your booth, I got a special feeling. Your energy field is very strong, and I am really drawn by it."

After learning the facts about the persecution, a passerby signs the petition

There were many children participating in the City Festival activities. They happily learned to make folded paper lotus flowers. The practitioners told them that the characteristic of lotus flowers is that they grow out of mud yet remain pure and unpolluted by the mud, and that this characteristic is symbolic of the cultivators' noble spirit. These innocent children were indeed very lovely. They were humming, "Falun Dafa," and "Zhen, Shan, Ren" ("Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance), while making the paper lotus flowers. As the activity was coming to an end, a little boy came over and wanted to learn how to fold paper lotus flowers. With his mother's company, he made a paper lotus flower. After finishing it, he held up the lotus flower with satisfaction and spoke out: "Mommy! Mommy! The lotus flower is giving off a fragrance." Children's hearts are indeed as pure as lotus flowers.

· The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Kills Innocent Lives by Forced Abortions

Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Wang Ying from Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province, unexpectedly became pregnant with her second baby. As a loving and caring mother, Ms. Wang kept her pregnancy hidden for seven months because of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) high-pressure one-child policy. Eventually however, the leaders of her work unit became aware of her pregnancy. The officials of the City Administration Bureau, led by Zhang Zengzhen, and using the justification of carrying out the CCP's policy, forced Ms. Wang to have an abortion.

They claimed that Ms. Wang could never give birth to her child because both she and her mother are practitioners. In order to reach their goal, the officials arranged for the unit employees to take turns staying in Ms. Wang's mother's home around the clock to monitor her. After her mother refused their request, Zhang Zengzhen sent a couple of vehicles and several people to closely monitor her mother's home from the outside. At night, they changed shifts frequently. It was very hot in mid-July and every nearby apartment had the windows open. The noise of the vehicles and people talking was very loud, which upset the neighbours and causing public disquiet. The residents did not dare to go out. Zhang Zengzhen did not give up monitoring the pregnant woman even though all work in the bureau was at a standstill. Ms. Wang, seven months pregnant, was confined to the home. She could not eat or sleep and she cried all day. Her health suffered both physically and mentally. Her family also suffered unimaginable pain.

In order to rouse hatred, Zhang Zengzhen instigated individuals by telling them, "You are suffering because of Wang Ying." He attempted to create conflicts between the company employees and the pregnant woman. They threatened and deceived Ms. Wang and her family members. Ma Shuwen, Party Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Committee, forcibly took Ms. Wang away, to a hospital.

The hospital room became a prison cell. There were many male and female employees inside and outside of the room. Ms. Wang could not rest day or night and she could not leave the room. Even when she went to toilet, a designated employee followed her. Zhang Zengzhen also arranged for others to make noise in the hospital and threaten Ms. Wang over the phone. They demanded that the hospital perform a forced abortion without doing any prior examination but the hospital refused. Zhang Zengzhen was very angry and he threatened Ms. Wang and her family, "If you do not abort this baby, we have many ways of dealing with you. I can send you to the Family Planning Committee or the 610 Office1. They both do forced abortions no matter how old the foetus is. We definitely will not let him be born alive."

In the hospital, Ms. Wang was tortured for many days, causing her to become very nervous. Due to the fact that she was very weak both physically and mentally, Ms. Wang was forced to abort in great pain. In this way, a seven-month-old foetus was killed by Zhang Zengzhen's gang under the despotic power of the CCP's policy.

When Ms. Wang was under house arrest, her mother's home phone and her family members' mobile phones were monitored. Even when her mother went to the hospital to see her, the taxi driver who took her mother from the entrance of the residential area to the hospital was implicated. At around 10:30 p.m., about ten policemen broke into the driver's home and took away the driver and his seventy-year-old mother, who was ill and asleep in bed. They were put into a prison vehicle, detained and interrogated. The driver was very confused. He and his elderly mother were also persecuted.

The City Administration Bureau should enforce the law. However, Zhang Zengzhen's gang were responsible for killing Ms. Wang's seven-month-old foetus. In China, countless innocent lives are killed every day. Their parents and families have suffered the same pains as Ms. Wang Ying. Life is a gift, and to be alive is each life's right. However, under the CCP's inhuman rule, there are no human rights at all.

Zhang Zengzhen was in charge of family planning when he worked in the township government. He often drove a tractor to take away the women who were several months pregnant, seven or eight months pregnant or even close to their due date, and forced them to have abortions. The women cried in the vehicle. It was extremely tragic. He violated the policy of family planning. Many people said that he found a way to get a quota for his own second child when his wife had already been pregnant for eight months. Zhang Zengzhen threatened to punish Ms. Wang Ying and her husband. As a result, Ms. Wang's husband is still without work.

Mr. Huang was sentenced to five years of imprisonment, and Ms. Wang was sentenced to three years of imprisonment. They are both Falun Gong practitioners who follow the principles of "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance."

· Mr. Song Zhendong from Liaoning Province Remains in Panjin Prison

Mr. Song Zhendong, 30, is a practitioner from Dandong City, Liaoning Province. Mr. Song was persecuted by people from Dandong City Police Department and the 610 Office1 just because he practises Falun Gong.

In early August, 2002, Yang Weiguang from Section 1 of the Dandong Police Department, along with several other people, went to Mr. Song's workplace many times to harass him, until he was forced to leave home.

Secretary Zhao of the Chinese Communist Party Committee from Section 1 of Dandong Police Department ransacked Mr. Song's home and his parent's home.

One day late in the evening, agents from Xingdong Police Station and Liudaokou Police Station went to the homes of Mr. Song's parents and parents-in-law and pounded on their doors, making his families fearful and apprehensive and unable to sleep for the whole evening. The agents smashed a piece of glass at Mr. Song's parents' home.

Cao Yujia and Du Guojun, also from Section 1, went to Mr. Song's parents' home many times both day and night, demanding to know Mr. Song's whereabouts. They also went to the workplace of Mr. Song's wife. They harassed her and threatened, "If you do not cooperate, we will make you lose your job." Agents from the Yuanbao District Police Sub-Department interrogated Mr. Song's wife for a long time and did not allow her to go home to nurse her baby even after 7:00 p.m. The incident seriously affected her physical and mental health. She took care of their three-month-old baby by herself and was in tears the entire time. She could not stand such mental torture. In the end the police even forced her to divorce her husband. Even though Mr. Song was not present, the court approved the divorce, destroying a perfectly contented family.

On May 22nd, 2004, Du Guojun and others from Section 1 arrested Mr. Song and detained him at the No. 1 Detention Centre of Dandong City. Policeman Du Guojun beat Mr. Song, causing his hands to be swollen for over a month. On October 13th, without informing the family, Mr. Song Zhendong was sentenced to nine years in prison. Mr. Song refused to accept the sentence and proposed an appeal, which was unreasonably rejected.

Mr. Song was widely believed to be a good person. Police department officials also investigated and admitted that he was a good person.

Mr. Song previously had a stable job. When he saw many of his colleagues lose their jobs and have difficult lives, to avoid further persecution he departed from his wife shortly after they got married and went far away from his home to lease a restaurant and cook. This solved the problem of work and income for nearly ten people and ensured a stable life for his family. How could such a good person, who is willing to endure hardship and be considerate of others, be sentenced to nine years? He is still in Panjin Prison as of today.

In addition, the police even put fabricated charges against him. When questioned about what law Mr. Song had violated, the police had nothing to say.

We strongly request that the authorities stop persecuting Falun Gong and unconditionally release Song Zhendong and all detained practitioners!

· The Inhumane Persecution of Practitioner Ms. Wang Jiping from Jiangsu Province

Ms. Wang Jiping, a 38 year-old practitioner from Tongzhou City, Jiangsu Province, was arrested and forcibly sent to a brainwashing class held at Fangqiang Farm in Tongzhou City, Jiangsu Province, in November 2000 when she was giving out Falun Gong materials exposing the persecution. She refused to be "reformed1" and was then detained in the Tongzhou Infrastructure Company. She was sentenced to two years in a forced labour camp during the Chinese New Year of 2001 and was sent to the Judong Forced Labour Camp in Jiangsu Province.

During her two-year detention in the Judong Labour Camp, Ms. Wang was persecuted severely. She ws subjected to beatings and electric shock torture. The police shocked her using three electric batons at the same time, until she fainted. Zhao Yulan, the policewoman who tortured her, said to her after she woke up, "You must feel very comfortable sleeping under my feet." She was held in a small room facing the stairs. There were two inmates in her room, one was a drug addict, the other a prostitute. Both were ordered to watch over her and had permission to beat her at will. Despite the severe situation, Ms. Wang firmly believed in Dafa, and she refused to be "reformed." Her sentence then was extended for another six months. The torture was also escalated. Her back spinal column was damaged and a nerve in her vertebra became compressed, which caused paralysis in her lower limbs. The warden didn’t leave her alone, even in this condition. They exploited her paralysis to enhance the persecution. She couldn’t stand up, but they forced her to stand up. When she fell, they ordered two people to pin her down to the bench. They tortured her like this repeatedly.

Up to April 2003, Wang Jiping was persecuted so severely that she couldn’t move at all. In fear of being held responsible should she pass away, the labour camp notified her family to take her home. Her family then sent her to a hospital in Tongzhou City, Jiangsu Province for treatment. They spent eighty thousand yuan on the medical expenses. The hospital implanted a steel plate in her spinal column. She was not able to walk, and had to stay in bed for three years. Not until 2006 could she go out in a wheel chair. Just because she persisted in practising Falun Dafa, she was severely persecuted by Chinese Communist Party until she was totally paralysed.

On July 17th of this year she was speaking to people about the facts of Falun Dafa and giving out DVDs when she was arrested again. The police detained her in the Huade Hotel in Tongzhou City for one month. They interrogated her and asked her to reveal the source of the materials but she refused to say anything. She was viciously persecuted again. She went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. Then she was force-fed a few times to the extent that they were no longer able to force anything down her throat. The police in Tongzhou City still felt that they didn’t persecute her enough. They transferred her to another place secretly. It was said that she was transferred to the Tongzhou City Custodial Station again. Her family has not been allowed to see her so far and cannot confirm her whereabouts and her situation.

We hope people overseas will lend their hands and help her escape so that she can reunite with her family again.

· Fourteen Senior Citizen Practitioners Gained Health After Practising Falun Dafa, but Died After Being Forced to Giving It up

Ms. Dong Yanying, 80, was from Shangzhuoshan Village, Zhucheng City, Shandong Province. She suffered from headaches for many years and was unable to find an effective treatment. The headaches miraculously stopped after she started practising Falun Gong in 1997. After the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began persecuting Falun Dafa, Ms. Dong was harassed, threatened many times, and fined 200 yuan1 when a fellow practitioner from her village went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa and she was implicated. Ms. Dong Yanying had experienced the various CCP-provoked political movements and had seen many people slaughtered as a result. Thus, she became too scared to study the Falun Dafa teachings or practise the exercises. Eventually, her previous illness recurred, and she died on February 12th, 2006.

Mr. Li Mingxian, 66, was from Xiahe Village, Zhucheng City, Shandong Province. He suffered from severe emphysema and a right heart ventricle dysfunction due to a respiratory disorder, which made it impossible for him to do any farm work. Even moving around caused extreme shortness of breath. Taking medication and injections became a daily routine. He spent thousands of yuan each year on treatments. In 1997, Mr. Li began practising Falun Gong and his health started improving. He was able to do some farm work. After the persecution of Falun Gong began, he was often harassed and threatened by police officers and others who would show up at his home. Out of concern that his children would also be harassed, Mr. Li Mingxian stopped practising Falun Gong. As a result his illnesses recurred and he died on January 26th, 2005.

Ms. Cheng Shuangqin, in her fifties, was from Caiyao Village, Chengan County, Handan City, Hebei Province. She suffered from high blood pressure and cerebrovascular disease. She often felt dizzy and relied on medication just to keep functioning. In late 1996, she began practising Falun Gong and several weeks later her health returned. She was able to work with the energy of a young person. After the persecution began her husband went to appeal for Falun Gong and was detained at the county detention centre. Tian Guisheng and Yang Shihua from the National Security Division of the County Police Bureau, along with a group of policemen headed by Hou Dong and Yang Hongbin from the Daodongbao Township Police Sub-station, went to her home many times to harass the family and ransack their house. Her husband paid over ten thousand yuan before being released from custody. Under the intense pressures of harassment and extortion she stopped cultivating. Three months later her illness recurred. She suffered a stroke, which left her paralysed and unable to take care of herself. She suffered for three years and eventually died on May 12th, 2004.

Mr. Wang Xianzhang, in his sixties, was from Caiyao Village, Handan City, Hebei Province. He had suffered from high blood pressure and cerebrovascular disease. He showed signs of paralysis due to stroke. Despite various medical treatments Mr. Wang was unable to move freely or speak properly. He was on various medications just to stay alive. In late 1996 he began practising Falun Gong and his health improved remarkably. One day he rode his bike for many kilometres without feeling tired. After the persecution began on July 20th, 1999, police officers, headed by Hou Dongfeng and Yang Hongbin from the Daodongbao Township Police Substation, went to his house several times to harass him and to try to force him to sign a guarantee statement2. The harassment and threats caused Mr. Wang, who was very timid, to stop cultivating, against his will. Six months later his previous health problems recurred and he became paralysed. Despite the fact that he was confined to bed, the police still went to his home to harass him, and they wanted to take photos of him. All this led to physical deterioration and he died in August 2003.

Ms. Zeng Shuhua, in her sixties, was from the Chengdu Department Store dormitory in Sichuan Province. She had suffered from many illnesses including rheumatoid arthritis, which caused deformation of her finger joints. Since she could not take care of herself she had a fall and suffered a fracture. Eventually, her joints froze and she had to depend on her family to look after her. In desperation she began practising Falun Gong in late 1995. Not long after, her health miraculously recovered. However, after the persecution of Falun Gong began, Ms. Zeng was under tremendous pressure. Police officer Wei ordered her to go to a "study" session, which turned out to be brainwashing sessions. As a result she quit cultivation. Several months later her illnesses recurred and she was hospitalised twice. Ms. Zeng died on February 28th, 2004.

Ms. Sun Zhi'e, 58, was from Yatou Village, Chucheng City, Shandong Province. She was retired from the Machine Repair Factory of Zhucheng City Construction Company. In October 1997 she learned Falun Dafa and within a month all her illnesses were gone. After July 20th, 1999, she was intimidated and threatened by the officials that harassed her. She was taken to the Security Section of the Construction Company at 2:00 a.m. on July 25th and at 5:00 a.m. she was transfered to a room at her workplace where the only furniture was a desk. The police tried to force her to write a guarantee statement. She was not allowed to sleep and mosquitoes bit her day and night. Ms. Sun was guarded by four people who threatened that she would only be released after she wrote a guarantee statement. Finally, the guard wrote the guarantee statement for her and let her to go home. However, after returning home she was not only under surveillance but was ordered to go to her workplace to watch videotapes that slandered Falun Dafa. The practitioners were then forced to repeat the slander of Dafa either verbally or in writing. The officials eventually forced her to stop doing the exercises. Under this pressure Ms. Sun was affected both physically and mentally. She died on January 12th, 2006.

Ms. Liu Beiying, 70, was from Yangjiang Village, Zhucheng City, Shandong Province. She learned Falun Gong in 1995 and her health recovered thereafter. When the persecution of Falun Gong began in 1999, her son was detained at his factory and her three daughters were also detained, had their homes ransacked, and were forced to attend brainwashing sessions. She became too scared to practise Falun Gong and died on January 11th, 2006.

Ms. Wang Zeqiu, 74, was from Zhucheng City, Weifang Area, Shandong Province. After practising Falun Gong, many of her illnesses disappeared in a short period of time. Under the prolonged persecution Ms. Wang failed to withstand the various pressures and stopped cultivating. Her illnesses returned and her physical and mental health deteriorated. She died on January 22nd, 2006.

Ms. Wang Ying, in her fifties, was from Zhucheng City, Weifang Area, Shandong Province. She was diagnosed with a brain tumour. She was arrested, fined, and saw her house ransacked many times after July 20th, 1999. On May 18th, 2006, she was arrested and detained at Zhucheng Detention Centre for 21 days. She was then sentenced to two years of forced labour. At 7 o'clock on the morning of June 9th, 2006, she was sent to Wangcun Forced Labour Camp, where the camp guards deprived her of sleep for a long time. She was guarded around the clock by former Falun Gong practitioners who had turned against Falun Gong under brainwashing and torture. She fell unconscious one day when she was taking a shower at the labour camp. Due to various rescue efforts, Ms. Wang Ying was released on June 24th, 2006. After being released she knew clearly that her life was given by Dafa. However, she could not bear the pressure from both home and outside and she gave up the practice. As a result her illness recurred and she deteriorated very quickly. Ms. Wang Ying passed away on August 8th, 2006.

Ms. Yuan Qiaolian, 56, was from the Jinzhou District, Dalian City, Liaoning Province. She lived at the Yuwa Residential building of the Railway. Ms. Yuan suffered from lachrymal gland cancer before she learned to practise Falun Gong and was told that she could only live for three more months. After practising Falun Gong her symptoms became less severe with each passing day. The persecution of Falun Gong by Jiang Zemin's regime resulted in a lot of pressure for Ms. Yuan and ruined her both physically and mentally. She died on August 16th, 2006.

Ms. Yu Sulian, 73, was from Dalian City, Liaoning Province. She suffered from coronary disease, high blood pressure, and diabetes. After she learned Falun Dafa in July 1996 all of her illnesses disappeared. After the persecution of Falun Gong started, she lost her cultivation environment and stopped practising. She developed kidney failure and passed away in April 2002.

Ms. Qiu Biyun, 67, was from Bailian Village, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province. After learning Falun Gong all her illnesses disappeared. After the persecution began she was intimidated, threatened, and harassed. She suffered from severe mental pressure and lived in fear, which greatly ruined her health. She died in May 2006.

Mr. Shen Fazeng was a retired government employee who had worked for the Agricultural Bureau of Linyi City, Shandong Province. He suffered with hepatitis before practising Falun Gong. The symptoms disappeared after practising Falun Gong. He was an assistant at a practice site before the persecution began. When the persecution began, officials from his former workplace and the local police substation intimidated him many times in the name of "having a chat." They also forced him to write confessions and a guarantee statement. He dared not practise Falun Gong any longer under such circumstances. He died in late 2000 owing to the recurrence of his illness.

Ms. Ma Guilin, in her eighties, was from Zhuolu County, Hebei Province. After practising Falun Dafa and joining the activities to promote Falun Gong, the old woman became vigorous and healthy. After the persecution began, she lost her cultivation environment, and the horrifying pressures forced her to stop cultivating. In late 1999 she developed health problems and died.

Note

1. "Yuan" is the Chinese currency; 500 yuan is equal to the average monthly income of an urban worker in China.
2. "Guarantee Statement": A statement to declare that one is remorseful for practising Falun Gong and guarantees not to practise Falun Gong again, not to go to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, and never again associate with any Falun Dafa practitioners.

· Words From the Heart of A Chinese Government Official

On August 22nd, 2006, my attention was drawn to a disturbance happening outside my office door. I went out to investigate and saw that the Gestapo like 610 Office* was packed with people with the 610 Office chief Gou Dewei shouting at the top of his lungs. This occurred in the office building of the Politics and Law Committee in Qiannan County, Guizhou Province.

After asking around, I got to know some of the details as described below:

Starting on June 20th of this year the Politics and Law Committee's 610 Office in Qiannan County, in order to carry out policy from higher level authorities, discussed and carried out secret plans to arrest Falun Gong practitioners. They held urgent meetings with the heads of different work units that have Falun Gong practitioners and treated these good people who practise the principles of Truthfulness, Benevolence, Forbearance as "class struggle enemies" in a new wave of persecution. The targeted Falun Gong practitioners included Wei Tianlan from the Bureau of Sanitation in Qiannan County, Liang Zhengfeng from the governmental boarding house of Qiannan County, Zhou Yun from the Travel Agency of Dujun City, Huang Guixian an editor from Qiannan County TV Station's News Division, and an unknown practitioner from Guiding County.

On June 20th, the above mentioned practitioners were deceived out of their work units, arrested and secretly sent to a brainwashing centre in Lannigou, Guiyang City. This centre has no public signs on the outside of it, as authorities fear the public finding out about its role in the persecution. The Qiannan County 610 Office is the only authority in the whole province of Guizhou that sends Falun Gong practitioners to this brainwashing centre for persecution.

After being sent to the brainwashing centre, Wei Tianlan's blood pressure rose to around 220, yet the 610 Office would not release her. The authorities at Wei's work unit lied to her son, saying that his mother was sent to do some studying in a quality hotel and there was no need to worry about his mother. Later on, after her son got to know the actual situation, he became worried about his mother's well-being. Her son's old illness returned and he was on the verge of death. Only when they saw Wei Tianlan's son in this terrible state, did they allow Ms. Wei to go back home and see her son. Sadly, Ms. Wei's son passed away two days after her release.

Ms. Liang Zhengfeng was persecuted in the brainwashing centre and became extremely emaciated. She has been detained there till now. Zhou Yun was persecuted beyond recognition and has been detained there as well. Ms. Huang Guixian's work unit deceived her in the name of checking her salary, while they actually planned to arrest her as soon as she arrived at work. Ms. Huang Guixian saw through the fraud and escape arrest.

After the above persecution happened, the families of the persecuted practitioners went to the 610 Office and demanded the immediate release of their family members. Hence came the scene that caught my attention on August 22nd.

I witnessed how the 610 Office chief Gou Dewei roared at Falun Gong practitioners' families when they reasoned with him based on the constitution and the criminal law.

In the past 7 years since the persecution started on July 20th, 1999, there have been several hundred Falun Gong practitioners who were arrested, sentenced to prison terms and forced labour camp terms, detained and forcibly brainwashed by the Qiannan County's Politics and Law Committee, Dujun City's Politics and Law Committee, and the 610 Office together with the Public Security Bureau. Among these practitioners, many were persecuted to death, and there is suspicion that some practitioners might have been victims of live organ harvesting.

As a matter of fact, I know these Falun Gong practitioners, and I know they are all good people acknowledged by their peers. Aren't they just doing exercises, improving their health, assimilating to the principles of Truthfulness, Benevolence, Forbearance, and upgrading their moral standards to better serve society? It is a good thing. It is beneficial to everyone and harmful to no one. These practitioners would not disturb the social order or threaten others' safety. On the contrary, they follow the principles of Truthfulness, Benevolence, Forbearance, dare to give up their own fame and fortune in order to choose their principles, and have no fear in facing prison, torture, being homeless and losing freedom. They are comfortable simply living to safeguard their beliefs. These practitioners have gained respect and admiration from all people, including myself.

* The 610 office is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.

· The Confession of a Policeman from Shengli Oil Field, China

I am a policeman from Sengli Oil Field. I'd like to write down my personal opinions from being a policeman for so many years. Because of safety concerns, I cannot describe many things in detail. Please forgive me.

At the beginning of my career as a policeman, I thought that police work was a noble profession, since policemen maintain justice, punish the bad, promote good, and protect people. Therefore, I worked hard and followed the laws to handle all my cases. However, as time went by, reality shattered my dreams again and again. I started to become numb. I saw my colleagues intrigue and fight against each other for power or money, intentionally break the laws during their work, and protect organised crime. The People's Police became the biggest gangsters. For example, there was a car robbery case. We put it on record as per the normal procedures. While preparing to catch the suspect, after an investigation, a high-ranking official called us to cancel the case, since it was settled privately. Another example was when we were supposed to crack down on prostitution. We first had to send someone to check if any government officials from the Public Security Bureau, Procuratorate, or People's Court were at the location we were about to raid. In order to avoid an embarrassing situation, we had to make sure there were no government officials present before we raided the place. Some things people have said to describe the police are really true, such as "They wear pants (uniforms) to crack down on prostitution, they take off their pants (uniform) to prostitute themselves."

The first responsibility of the People's Police is to make sure the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) remains in power. However, a lot of facts made me lose my confidence in the CCP. The corruption problems of government officials are out of control. For example, their office buildings have to be stylish. Their cars need to be luxurious. One of their meals could cost thousands of yuan. Wine for their meals are the most expensive. Their cigarettes must be the topmost brand for 100 yuan a pack. Recently, reports on crimes of corruption have revealed that not only is the amount of money involved huge, but also most of the officials involved are having sexual affairs. In addition, their affairs tend to be more open and acceptable to the public. More and more officials are only after three things: power, money, and women. On the other hand, the living standard for ordinary people is getting lower and lower. Health care, education, and housing expenses have become the three most serious burdens for the general public. Last year, to fight for their legal rights, the employees of the Oil Field occupied the office building of the Oil Field Administrative Bureau. Hu Jintao personally directed the suppressive action against us. As a result, all of the people attending the activity were forced to attend legal system education classes and write guarantee statements. Some of them were even secretly sentenced to prison. The Oil Field spent tens of millions of "yuan" to support the extra expenses of the police.

In April of this year, I had the opportunity to see some programs about the CCP's systematic organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners. I was shocked, because I have relatives that practise Falun Gong. I know that Falun Gong teaches people to behave well, to not fight back when punched or insulted, to work hard, to be a good citizen in the society, to do well in one's family, and to look inside themselves when there is a conflict. The CCP persecutes these ordinary people without any restraint, only because they want to be good people and insist in their beliefs.

The real situation in China today is this: The taxpayers' money is being stolen by the powerful and corrupt gangs of officials. The money is used by all levels of officials to create fake images and to establish systems within the military, the police, and special agent organisations to murder and suppress people in order to keep the CCP in power, as well as to buy support from other countries to cover up their crimes of genocide. The CCP is actually an organisation of corruption, murder, and deception.

This is the actual reason why the CCP persecutes Falun Gong. Falun Gong teaches "Truthfulness, Comparison, and Forbearance", which is an upright way. The core principles of the CCP are the exact opposite.

Recently, the police held secret meetings in northeast China and the "newest principles" for persecuting Falun Gong were delivered. The first was, "the impact of Falun Gong on society is huge and has resulted in a deeply negative effect on the image of the public security bureau." Thus, "the Falun Gong issue should be handled in secret, with no publicity and no spreading of any information, and with an effort to reduce the impact on the public to a minimum." The second was, "some public security personnel often visited Falun Gong websites and later changed their viewpoints, which seriously affected their effectiveness. Thus, from now on, all public security personnel are forbidden from visiting Minghui or any other Falun Gong websites." Actually, I now understand the evil nature of the CCP after visiting Minghui, The Epoch Times, and Renminbao websites. The two standards that the CCP follows in persecuting Falun Gong are lies and violence.

Seven years have passed since the persecution began in 1999. In these seven years and facing the lies and violence of the CCP, Falun Gong practitioners always followed the principles of "Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance" to peacefully and rationally protest against the persecution. They spread leaflets or mail letters to clarify the truth and disclose the facts covered up by the CCP. Gradually, the consciences of more and more people are awakening. People understand more about how serious the persecution is. Even the people forced to participate in the persecution are awakening.

Many of my colleagues understand the law of "due retribution of good and evil." Knowing the history of the CCP's past activities, they learnt about the CCP's evil nature and know the miserable plights of the practitioners. They refuse to be the weapons or tools used by the CCP. They have said, "Unless we have to, we would like to avoid bad things, and do our best to do good things." In order to pay back what they did before, they even inform Falun Gong practitioners when they are about to make arrests and help to collect the evidence on the principle criminals of the persecution. After understanding the truth, some national security agents resigned from the CCP, wrote down their experiences to warn other people, and even used the tapping devices to collect evidence against the real criminals. They gave that evidence to the Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (CIPFG). Now, fewer and fewer people are willing to actively get involved in the persecution. More and more people are choosing to make up for what they did. The CCP's persecution against Falun Gong is coming to an end.

Here, I want to warn those people who used to be Falun Gong practitioners and are currently still working as secret agents for the National Security Group. Using your fear of the CCP, the National Security policemen use all kinds of methods to force you to be their secret agents. They give you thousands or tens of thousands of yuan as a reward. However, that's only a small profit for the short-term. You are very unwise! Actually, the CCP and National Security police have even more to fear because they are responsible for so many crimes, and they fear any exposure! I have obtained a list of names of the secret agents for the areas of oil-extraction and well-drilling, and the Shengdong area. If these people provide any more information to the National Security Group, I will disclose the list.

Since the publication of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party in November 2004, a great wave of withdrawals from the Communist Party has taken place. Many of them are high-level officials from the Party and political and military organisations. The CCP is going against the will of heaven and against the Chinese people. As a result, more people are awakening and hastening its fall.

· Canada: Parade in Montreal on National Day of Mourning Supports 14 Million People Quitting the CCP

October 1st is China’s "National Day of Mourning," and the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) "Day of Usurpation of Power", as the Global Service Center for Quitting the CCP named it last year.

The number of people who have publicly announced their resignations from the CCP and its related organisations has now exceeded 14 million. The Service Center for Quitting the CCP in Montreal, Canada held a parade on October 1st, 2006 in Chinatown, to support the brave people who have quit the CCP and call on more Chinese people to wake up and openly voice their dissatisfactions for the sake of their own well-being. Falun Gong practitioners also joined the parade, condemning the CCP atrocities of harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners.

The parade procession circled Montreal's Chinatown for over forty minutes, shouting slogans and conveying messages to the public, "October 1st: China’s ‘National Day of Mourning,’ and the ‘Day the CCP Usurped Power,’" "The CCP Seized Power 57 Years Ago, and Has Killed 80 Million People," "Quit the CCP to Save Yourself, Quit the CCP for the Love of your Country," "Speak out Your Sufferings, Quit the CCP for Your Own Well-being," and "The CCP is not China."

October 1st—China’s "National Day of Mourning"

Mr. Zhu who participated in the parade said, "Look at history, after every dynasty came to power, there was rehabilitation to allow people to resume their normal lives. But after the Communist Party came, it first launched a land revolution, actually it was to kill people. Following it were a series of political movements, as Mao Zedong said, once every seven to eight years. It has never allowed people to rehabilitate. From this viewpoint, since the Communist Party truly controlled China, Chinese people have been in endless turmoil. This is the direct consequence brought about by the Communist Party. So the day when the Communist Party seized power was the beginning of suffering for Chinese people, or a symbol of China’s National Day of Mourning."

Voice Your Opinion for Your Own Well-being

Mr. Zhu said, "The Communist Party’s long-term propaganda has resulted in the Chinese people being deprived of understanding of history generation after generation. As a result, many Chinese people have lost the ability to see through the Chinese Communist Party’s nature as seen from a historical perspective. History has been completely changed by them. Nobody knows this. If we look back at history, we see that the Chinese people have been trampled upon by the Chinese Communist Party. Over the past few dozen years, 80 million of our fellow Chinese have been killed, directly or indirectly. These people have families, children and relatives, that is to say, the number of people who have suffered from the CCP’s persecution, as estimated, has exceeded half of the total of the Chinese population. All this has been covered up, and is unknown to the people. No one dares to speak out. Now, if we tell the public about the sufferings of our families and ourselves, and everyone speaks out, we will find that the CCP evil is beyond anyone’s imagination. It is not that it only did a few bad deeds. It has been continuously carrying out brutal persecution against everyone. If everyone speaks out, we will find that the CCP only brings the Chinese people endless disasters, and people will naturally break away from the CCP and withdraw from its evil organisation."

During the parade, a group of Western young men who heard of the CCP harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners were very angry, and they called out, "No more communism."

The four Western young men expressed their support for the service centre for quitting the CCP, and joined the parade while holding posters with messages about quitting the CCP. They also asked how they could help stop the CCP’s live organ harvesting practice, and asked for the Falun Gong web site address. They said they would call the Canadian government to raise concerns and stop the CCP atrocities.

Many people watched the parade attentively, and happily accepted the fliers.

· United States: Falun Gong Practitioners in Texas Expose the Chinese Communist Party’s Brutality on October 1st

On October 1st, 2006, the Chinese Consulate held an activity at the Chinese Civic Centre in Houston to celebrate the 57th anniversary of the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) brutal governing of China. On the same day, Falun Gong practitioners from Texas held an activity to expose the CCP brutality.

On October 1st, 2006, Falun Gong practitioners from Texas expose the CCP brutality

At 9:30 in the morning, the Chinese Consulate held an activity at the Chinese Civic Centre. Another group of people held banners which said "The CCP will be Eliminated by Heaven, Quit the CCP for Peace" and "Supporting 14 Million Withdrawals from the CCP" across the street. Falun Gong practitioners from Texas also attended the protest. Practitioners also displayed photos which exposed the brutality of the persecution of Falun Gong by the CCP in China. During the protest, practitioners played the recording of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party to expose the bloody history of the CCP. Many people who were in the Chinese Consulate’s activity saw the photos and heard the recording. October 1st - the bloody date of the CCP became the date that Falun Gong practitioners exposed the CCP brutality.

After the protesting activity in the morning, practitioners and other protesters went to Chinatown to hold a press conference. Many people, including Falun Gong practitioners, a columnists of The Epoch Times, volunteers from the Service Center of Quitting the CCP among other gave speeches. Speakers condemned the CCP’s brutality throughout history, such as the Cultural Revolution and other political movements, especially the seven-year long persecution of Falun Gong. Speakers also condemned the CCP harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners. Some reporters from the media interviewed the speakers. The activity drew many people’s attention.

The CCP’s 57-year long brutal governing of China and brainwashing are responsible for the decline of morality in China. The Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party initiated the withdrawals of the party. The Nine Commentaries liberates the Chinese people’s spirits and lets more people see the evil nature of the CCP.

· Poem: Hearts Woven Gold

Hearts come awaken wide
shores immeasurable upon luminous tides
with brightest sails against clouded skies
horizons anew from blinded eyes.

Moments to aeons and journeys past
our world too finite where shadows cast however destined this darkest night
shining here and beyond in timeless flight.

Seeds ever precious where blossoms unfold
soiled grey until hearts woven gold.
