German Falun Gong practitioner Chen Gang wrote to the European Commission, the German Government at all levels, international human rights organisations, the United Nations and various media organisations to appeal for the rescue of his elder sister Chen Jie, who is a Falun Gong practitioner and was illegally arrested on June the 2nd. He also urged the international community to pay attention to China’s on-going trampling of human rights and freedom of belief.

Recently, Swedish radio, TV and several newspapers have issued news about June the 4th, human rights in China and the atmosphere in Tiananmen Square. The Swedish National Newspaper and Dagens Nyheter published a long article, which detailed how far we are from a democratic regime in China. The article discusses the tighter and stronger controls on freedom of speech, belief, and democracy, through the illustration of the crackdown on June the 4th incident and the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners.

When the Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao visited Ireland in May, Falun Gong practitioners staged a peaceful appeal by practising exercises, and appealed for bringing Jiang Zemin, who is the driving force behind the persecution of Falun Gong, to justice. Meanwhile, practitioners called for the release of two practitioners from Liaoning province in China, Liu Feng and Yang Fang, and for their safe return to Ireland to continue their studies.

Falun Dafa practitioner Ms Huang Zhao was a resident of Wuhan City. According to inside sources, Huang Zhao was electrically shocked and beaten to death by police using electrical batons at 4:10 p.m. on April 2, 2004. In order to cover up their crime, the police claimed she committed suicide, and they also forced her family to sign an agreement of "accepting the judgment of suicide." The police told the family "the person is already dead, you can get some money if you agree that suicide was the cause; otherwise, you will not get a penny."

Ms. Zhou Zebi from Sichuan Province was tortured with a variety of methods while detained in the notorious Zizhong Nanmusi Forced Labour Camp in Sichuan Province. The torture caused her to have injuries, which caused her to cough terribly, vomit blood, and also have bloody stools. One of her relatives carried her out of the forced labour camp on his back in April 2001. The torture left her with such severe injuries, she looked dead. In May 2001, Ms. Zhou Zebi died from complications resulting from the extended torture.

Because of persisting in practising Falun Gong, I was illegally sentenced to labour camp twice and was illegally detained 15 times. In July 2003, I was sent to Pengzhou Municipal Mental Hospital. In the mental hospital, I was injected with an opaque liquid, which caused all kinds of swelling in my whole body. When I neared death, the doctor from the Pengzhou Municipal mental hospital requested Qiao Lijun, the director of the "610 Office," to release me. Qiao Lijun refused and said, "No way. We will still watch over her!"

At the end of February 2004, Foot-and-Mouth Disease (FMD, an animal disease) broke out in 18 towns and townships of Qu County in Dazhou City of Sichuan Province. The local Government concealed the epidemic, totally disregarding the severe FMD plague and continued to waste much manpower and resources to defame and persecute Falun Gong. Qu County is the most notorious county for persecuting Falun Gong in Dazhou City. Qu County is the first county in which a Falun Gong practitioner was persecuted to death in Dazhou City.

After only three months I was playing guitar again. The most amazing part of this healing story was that after three years away from the guitar, I reacquainted myself with the instrument extremely quickly. I auditioned at a prestigious music school in New York City only a few months after I started to play again and was accepted! Dafa has truly given me my life back!

Jealousy is a serious problem. A jealous person cannot tolerate the fact that other people may be superior to him. He would consider anyone who is better than him to be showing off. His jealousy causes him to feel embarrassed by other people's merits and unable to appreciate their merits. On the other hand, he looks down on people he regards as inferior to him. He thinks he is perfect.

Among nearly 60 booths, elderly people frequently visited the Falun Gong practitioners' booth to enquire about the practice and get more information. Falun Gong practitioners demonstrated the five sets of exercises at the centre of the exhibition hall, which won enthusiastic applause.
