"I am aware of the Chinese government’s policy on persecuting the practitioners of Falun Gong. My colleagues and I have made representations to the Chinese authorities regarding this issue on a number of occasions and I also raised it myself when I visited Beijing on a British Council sponsored visit eighteen months ago. I am therefore particularly disappointed to see that the French government appear to be seeking to curry favour with the Chinese authorities by the actions to which you have referred concerning the Chinese New Year parade."

"From this story, I can tell that some French Government officials' orders to "ban yellow scarves" and arrest Falun Dafa practitioners during Hu Jintao's visit does not represent the attitude of all French Government officials or the French people. As a French citizen, I feel ashamed. Why have the policemen from the free land of France arrested their own citizens and followed the Chinese regime’s threats and pressure to arrest Falun Gong practitioners without any justification?"

Dafa practitioners went to a senior high school to demonstrate the exercise movements. The school Principal was very happy we had chosen to come to his school. We displayed information about Falun Dafa and demonstrated the exercises. Many teachers came to watch us and the response was very good.

On Friday January the 23rd and Sunday January the 25th 2004, Falun Gong practitioners from various countries held grand parades on the streets of Paris. Practitioners demonstrated Falun Gong's beauty and magnificence through artistic performances in a Chinese New Year celebration.

Recently, there has been a sharp increase in the number of Falun Gong practitioners tortured to death with more being arrested and subjected to torture in China. After they heard this news, some Falun Gong practitioners in Holland went to appeal in front of the Chinese Embassy in Holland.

Recently, we learned in news from China that 60 more of our fellow practitioners died as a result of the persecution. On February the 15th 2004, practitioners in Italy arrived outside the Chinese Consulate in Milan, strongly calling for bringing the chief perpetrator Jiang Zemin and his accomplices Luo Gan, Liu Jing and Zhou Yongkang to justice.

"We remorsefully grieve over the death of Mr. Liu Chengjun. If international organisations had enthusiastically responded to the Urgent Action statement issued by Amnesty International or to the request made by IGFM (International Society for Human Rights), then Mr. Chengjun would have regained freedom like the other released practitioners."

After several days, we were forced to work. The work was to wrap wooden chopsticks with a layer of paper. "Sterilized" was printed on the paper. In fact it was not hygienic at all. Detainees who had hepatitis, venereal disease, and other illnesses also had to work. None of us were ever asked to wash our hands before work. About 40 detainees were crowded in one room, and the chopsticks were piled up on the ground and on our beds. Hygiene was minimal.

According to a February 13, 2004 report from the Falun Dafa Information Center, persons at the Qinghe Forced Labour Camp in Beijing had infused the 51-year-old retired teacher Ms. Zhang Shuzhen with a toxic substance for refusing to give up her Falun Gong practice. The infusion led to violent stomach pains.

In April 2001, to force Falun Dafa practitioners to give up their cultivation, the third division tortured Liang Baochi and other practitioners who had been recently sent there. The practitioners were forced to run over 80 laps around the athletic field. Practitioner Yuxue recited one of the Teacher's poems. The persons who watched him then reported him to the division leader.

Yang Songpeng yelled upon seeing him: "You again went to spread the flyers!" Lu Zhifan explained to him that he was just visiting friends. Yang Songpeng showed him a flyer and insisted that it was spread by him. His wife also explained that they did not distribute the flyers, but Yang Songpeng still yelled: "Even if you did not spread the flyers, I would still detain you and detain you until death!"

After making some calls to China this morning, I felt that I had made a breakthrough and enlightened to something. A cultivator’s every thought is powerful. Gods can see it, and so does the evil. Anything, big or small, happening around us is related to our cultivation, so every notion or thought should be measured by the Fa. In the midst of being interfered with, or in confusion, we cannot always find a definite way through, but we are able to make breakthroughs as long as we persevere with Fa-study

In Taiwan, the prisons and detention centres welcome Falun Gong practitioners to teach Falun Dafa to inmates to purify their hearts. The practitioners had established good relationships with inmates, police guards and administrators. Because of the cooperation with prisons, Falun Gong practitioners often receive many awards and acknowledgments every year. Many inmates read the book Zhuan Falun, learned the exercises and accepted Falun Dafa.
