'Three Chinese citizens holding official United Nations refugee protection cards have gone into hiding fearing the Chinese Embassy might kidnap or even kill them. “These things have already happened here many times,” says Mr. Kan Lykuy, 35. “The Chinese government is so domineering. We are running from place to place and with no money; this is no way to live.” Since last week, Ms. Jiang, Mr. Gao, and Mr. Kan have been receiving threatening phone calls and have reported being followed by spies. They are being chased not only for their beliefs in religions that are not recognized by the Chinese government, but also for supporting practitioners of Falun Gong, a spiritual practice severely persecuted in China.'

The whole city supported the activities. Shops and other establishments in the city happily put up posters in their windows about Falun Dafa and the activities, as well as providing petitions against the persecution for people to sign. Three of the leading daily newspapers on the west coast reported about the events, as did two national radio stations. They were all very supportive and wrote extensively about Falun Dafa, as well as the persecution.

'On the 9th of February 2004, Fingal County Council passed a resolution condemning China’s persecution of Falun Gong and strongly arguing that the Chinese Government release the two Chinese students Liu Feng and Yang Fang and help them return Ireland to continue their studies. At the same time, two other councils, the South Dublin Council and the Dun Laoghaire Council, have also passed similar resolutions.'

At about 2 p.m. on January 14, 2004, practitioner Sun Yuhua, was brutally abducted from the yard of her home in the Hasan electricity plant residential quarters. She was brutally beaten, and tortured. On the evening of the same day, her daughter, who is an 18-year-old university student was also taken to the Hulan county police department, and subsequently tortured. From the day she was abducted to today, Sun Yuhua has been on a hunger strike to protest her illegal torment. At present, she is on the verge of death.

In September 2002, Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Li Dongqing completed the three-year term of forced labour. The Masanjia Labour Camp should have released her. Instead, the Camp fabricated some charges against her and brought her to the Shenyang Court. The Court sentenced her to a five-year term, without doing any investigation, and without allowing any testimony. They didn't allow anyone outside the court to know about the sentence, and unjustly sent Dongqing to Shenyang Dabei Female Prison.

Falun Dafa practitioner Xiao Yu (alias), from Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province, has been illegally detained for about two months, during which time the policemen have not stopped persecuting him. At the present, he is at death's door in the Jiamusi Detention Centre. Xiao was illegally arrested at the beginning of December 2003. For several days, he was tortured by police from the Jiamusi Police Department, attempting to extort a "confession." They did not stop the brutality until he could not move.

Mr Xiao Zhiduan was a Judge in Jiaozhou city, Shandong province. Because he inisted on practising Falun Gong, he was detained and tortured in a mental hospital. They forcefully tied him to a table and shocked both his arms with a heavy current circular electric needle. Both of his arms went numb from the torture. The pain was too hard to endure and it reached his chest. He eventually fainted. He woke up when they turned off the switch and they shocked him again. They repeated these steps and asked him if he would still practise Falun Gong.

It is not merely a problem that Falun Gong is facing, but a problem that affects France too. If we tacitly agree with this injustice, then it will happen again next time and it may keep on happening over and over. What happens to Falun Gong or foreigners this time may happen to French people next time, and in the end French people may suffer the pain of losing freedom and justice. Perhaps we can do something, not just for me or for Falun Gong practitioners, but also for France, freedom and justice.

On February 15, 2004, several dozen Dafa practitioners in the Guandong Area of Japan gathered outside the Chinese Embassy in Tokyo, and unfurled three banners that read, "Bring Jiang Zemin to Justice," and "Put Jiang on Trial" in both Chinese and Japanese.

During Chinese President Hu Jintao's state visit to France, Paris police detained at least 11 Falun Gong practitioners for no reason. Among them were two American citizens from the state of Ohio. Practitioners in San Francisco were extremely concerned by this incident. On January 30, they went to see the Consulate General of France located in San Francisco. Their purpose was to expose the lies of Jiang's regime about Falun Gong and to raise awareness of the persecution being extended outside of China.

Once when he returned home from an imperial court meeting, Wei Xiaqing met his cousins Mr. Wei Zhiyi, Mr. Wei Qumou and Mr. Wei Zhou. Mr.’s Wei Zhiyi, Qumou and Zhou had each come 24th on the national government official qualification examination, and were appointed as Lang Guan (a government service position of the 6th official in an ancient Chinese imperial court.) They chatted for a while on horseback, then Mr. Wei Xiaqing said, “What a coincidence it is for me to meet three Lang Guan’s today. Why don’t I try to foretell your future careers?”

The nearby dwarf galaxy NGC 1569 is a hotbed of vigorous star birth activity which blows huge bubbles that riddle the main body of the galaxy. The galaxy's "star factories" are also manufacturing brilliant blue star clusters. This galaxy had a sudden onset of star birth about 25 million years ago, which subsided about the time the very earliest human ancestors appeared on Earth.
