'Between November 2003 and January 2004, reliable sources in China reported details on 64 Falun Gong practitioners who died from severe torture suffered in Chinese detention centres and labour camps. Deaths from torture and abuse were reported in 17 provinces throughout China, from Heilongjiang to Guangxi; from Sichuan to Beijing. Torture techniques reported include severe beatings, electric shocks, force-feeding torture, and injections of nerve-damaging drugs. Among the reported deceased was a 70-year-old woman and a 33-year-old man.'

"In China, through covering up the facts and spreading lies, the persecution of Falun Gong has lasted for over four years. Until now, over nine hundred innocent Falun Gong practitioners have been tortured to death. We think that a country like France should not support this kind of persecution. We hope you can stand up, based on upholding human rights, clarify the facts about the Paris incident to people and enable France to continue to maintain the traditional culture of believing in justice and freedom."

Several practitioners demonstrated Falun Gong’s five sets of exercises on stage at an evening concert. At the same time, another practitioner gave an introduction of Falun Gong, including the characteristics of each set of exercises, Falun Gong’s popularity around the world and the persecution happening inside China.

Our agricultural machinery and other personal belongings were taken away. My son held on to his favorite sheep and begged them to let him keep it, but they took it from him anyway. They saw a suitcase and a neighbour said, "Don't take the suitcase. There's money in it." When they heard the word "money" they took the suitcase with them right away. The crowd reprimanded them for behaving like gangsters. Because my home was stripped clean, my son was forced to leave school because he could no longer afford the school fees.

Force-feeding is the number one cause of death for Falun Gong practitioners. The purpose of police force-feeding is not to nourish, but rather to punish practitioners and to cause so much pain that they will renounce the practice of Falun Gong. To that end, the police have used many different means to cause excruciating pain and injury, including inserting and withdrawing the feeding tubes repeatedly, leaving the feeding tubes in the stomach, knocking out teeth while attempting to force-feed, force-feeding saturated salt-water, vinegar/liquor, or urine/faeces, etc

Upon hearing the shocking news of Meng Xiao being tortured to death, I could not stop crying. I could still remember her smile and voice vividly....After the persecution of Falun Gong began, she bravely withstood the pressure coming at her from family, work, and others around her, and was determined never to give up the practice. I will never forget her firm belief in Falun Dafa and her courage in facing the evildoers.... Because of the persecution, that young life had been taken away. I could not stop crying in front of the computer.

I asked my neighbour's 4-year-old son, Bao Bao, "Do you want to go to school when you are older?" Bao Bao said, "I don't want to go; school is terrible." I asked, "How do you know it's terrible?" Bao Bao said, "Granny went to school, and she can't come home. Mum took me to school to see her. The school had locked granny in a room. There are steel rods and a lock on the door. Granny can't come out. She even has to go to the toilet in there. There is no bed, so she has to sleep on the floor.

We may have various unrighteous thoughts, such as notions that it is no use to sue them because they enjoy diplomatic immunity; that we may as well focus our energy on other aspects since the lawsuit against Jiang’s regime is so important; that it is the mentality of struggle to prosecute Jiang, etc. As long as our first thought is unrighteous, the perspective from which we view problems will be human notions, not the Fa.

On the afternoon of February 3, 2004, a press conference was convened to denounce the illegal conduct by certain French government officials, who were responsible for the arrest of innocent Falun Gong practitioners by police in the streets of Paris. Unfortunately this conduct ensued because of the desire to carry favour and maintaining business interests with China.

On February 5, 2004, Falun Gong practitioners from the cities of Tucson and Phoenix in the state of Arizona, took the opportunity of David Bowie's concert tour date in Phoenix to tell people about the persecution of Falun Gong in China by Jiang's regime.

Joel Chipkar said Saturday that last week's Ontario Superior Court decision means it is time for Canadians to firmly dismiss the Chinese government's claim that the Falun Gong movement is a threat..."Visiting officials should not be free here to attack Canadians on Canadian soil," said Chipkar. "This is not China, this is Canada."
