On Sunday February 8th, 2004, approximately one hundred practitioners from around Europe gathered at the Place du Chatalet in Paris. The purpose was to raise public awareness of how the French Authorities had recently bowed to the Jiang Regime and arrested Falun Gong practitioners just for wearing yellow scarves during the Chinese New Year celebrations.

'On Monday February the 9th, councillors representing Fingal County Council and Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council will vote whether to accept a motion to condemn the persecution of Falun Dafa Practitioners in China. The motion urges the Minister for Foreign Affairs Brian Cowen to demand that Dun Laoghaire students Liu Feng and Yang Fang are permitted to return to Ireland to continue their studies during the Human-Rights Dialogue with China held in Dublin on the 26th and 27th of February.'

The Dafa practitioner was asked by the judge to explain why she had filed the lawsuit. She answered by explaining more about the persecution of Falun Gong, how widespread, systematic and criminal the brutal suppression of practitioners in China is, and how the ex-President and his regime try to impose this abuse of human rights on other countries. She conveyed that France and every other democratic country have a moral responsibility toward what can be officially described as “Genocide" and that this is not a Chinese issue, but an international question.

Renowned Canadian attorney Mr. Clive Ansley’s speech entitled “A Chinese Court is not a Court” was warmly welcomed and respected by many of the participants. Mr. Ansley is accomplished in Chinese and Canadian law. During the speech, he used pictures and articles to analyse the current status of the Chinese legal system and the persecution of Falun Gong.

'"We were arrested and detained with handcuffs for five hours at the police station, simply because we had yellow scarves on. The police were rough when they arrested us," stated British Falun Gong practitioner Yan Fullerton. "We did not think that this could happen outside of Mainland China. Especially not in France, the country where human rights originated," she added.'

"When did the yellow colour become illegal in France? Falun Gong practitioners wear yellow clothing on many occasions, in particular on the occasion of making peaceful appeals against the persecution. It is not illegal to do so. The French Falun Dafa Association is a legally registered organisation in France and has been supported by government agents and human rights organisations."

'The French Falun Gong Association sent a press release on Wednesday 4th February to announce their intention to file a complaint "against the arrests and violence against several dozen Falun Gong practitioners" during the Chinese New Year and President Hu Jintao’s visit to Paris, from the 24th to the 27th of January 2004.'

Certain lawless authorities were very panicked after Falun Dafa practitioners in Xingtai City and Shahe City, Hubei Province successfully inserted signals clarifying the truth about Falun Gong into a local TV programme around the Chinese New Year. The Hebei Province Party Committee ordered Xingtai City to "solve the case" by a deadline; otherwise the mayor would be fired. In the meantime, some officers from Hebei Province Police Department stationed in the Yongnian area have arrested several practitioners.

It was recently confirmed in Hebei Province that Falun Gong practitioners Gao Shiping and Li Shuli died in December of 2003 due to the abuses they suffered in Baoding City Gaoyang Labour Camp and Tangshan City Hehuakeng Labour Camp. Currently there are as many as 89 confirmed deaths of Falun Gong practitioners in Hebei Province due to the persecution.

People who knew the inside story said that ever since July 20, 1999, Li Jianfei had many times led his thugs to ransack Falun Gong practitioners' homes. He claimed that whoever practised at home would also be sent to labour camps. When a reporter called Li Jianfei at 86-455-8258869 verifying the death of Li Xuelian, he hung up immediately upon hearing her name. The reporter called again and Li Jianfei hung up again without saying anything.

In fact, Mr. Meng had already been killed by the beatings and torture. To cover up the truth behind his death, the police in the squad had Chen Fu read the following concocted story, "Meng Jincheng, a hard-core Falun Gong practitioner, suddenly became sick while serving his term in the labour camp. He was quickly taken to the hospital for treatment." Chen Fu, Chang Fuhai, and Lu Jiang were all rewarded as a result of their false testimony.

Due to lack of understanding of Falun Gong, when I was first imprisoned I even slapped a Dafa practitioner's face. Due to slander from the television programs I felt that all Falun Gong practitioners were bad people. However, once I had personal contact with them, I gradually realised that they were all very kind people. There were lots of mosquitoes during summer but they never killed any mosquitoes. They told me that even a mosquito was a life and that they did not kill anything.

While playing truth-clarifying video programs, the practitioners also demonstrated the exercises continuously, attracting many spectators. Many people had heard about the persecution even before they came to the booth, but they could not understand why Jiang's regime persecutes such a peaceful practice.

The big screen TV was bought by the Canadian practitioners, and with skilful hands, practitioners designed a stand and a cart that was very useful. The TV played from morning until night, 7 to 8 hours everyday, and the sound and images were very clear even from afar. The TV mainly played short truth clarifying videos, exercise demonstrations, and videos exposing the Jiang regime's lies and the truth about the self-immolation.

The effect of the exhibition was very good. Not only did many people eagerly take the introductory materials and ask about how to learn the exercises, many people bought the books and tapes to learn Falun Dafa.
