On January 25th 2004, at the Human Rights Conference in Caen, Dafa practitioner and lawyer, Mr. Carlos Iglesias, gave a speech to an audience of over 2,000 people. He explained the situation of the persecution of Falun Gong in China and the evilness of what he himself classified as a true genocide. He clearly explained the roots of this genocide and the direct and personal responsibility of Jiang Zemin and the repressive genocidal organisation known as the 610 Office, headed by Luo Gan.

On January 30th, 2004, Major National newspaper Le Figaro published an article entitled "Monstrous Traffic Jam during Hu Jintao's visit". The article revealed how Chinese Officials were so afraid to see brochures on persecution in China that they demanded that several major roads in Paris be closed during their official visit. During the few days of the President's visit, the majority of Parisioners felt that it was overly-extreme of the French authorities to enforce extra and extreme security measures to meet the demands of the Chinese president.

"We as European Friends of Falun Gong would like to express our deep concern at the treatment of certain Falun Gong practitioners by the French police during the recent Chinese New Year celebrations in Paris...It is deeply disturbing that a group of peaceful, law-abiding citizens should be treated in this way in a country which claims to be one of the largest democracies in the western world."

The visitors to the Louvre on Monday included many Chinese, outnumbering westerners many times over. Especially in the hall of the main entrance leading to the Louvre’s three other display areas, frequently one could see Chinese tourist groups assembling there. Foreign travellers who did not know what was going on thought that Monday was Louvres’ Chinese Day. Today the focus of most Mainland visitors was that everywhere in the Louvre there appeared pale blue jackets and yellow scarves displaying the words Falun Dafa.

On January 29th 2004, France’s national Radio station RTL attended a Falun Gong Press Conference. After listening and asking questions to Falun Gong spokespersons for one hour, the journalist interviewed Mrs. Chen Ying who was persecuted and brainwashed in China for refusing to renounce her practice of Falun Gong.

This lady was subjected to inhuman torture and degradation solely because she upheld "Truthfulness - Compassion - Tolerance". After she was tortured to a state where her life was in danger, she was sent home. However, she had to endure two more months of agony until she finall passed away. Yet another waste of a good person.

After a while, Wu Hong, head of Lingfeng Street Police Station of Shuangta Police Department said to others on the scene, "Look, my hands have swollen up. I cannot beat her any anymore. I need to take a break."...While choking her, he said, "I'll choke you to death!" The beating lasted more than an hour before he stopped. He told policeman Shao Zhimin, "Handcuff her to the bed and do not let her sleep!"

Even the children are not spared. On pages 25 and 26 of the new elementary textbook entitled Moral Character, a slanderous article covering the so-called "Tiananmen self-immolation case" and attacking Falun Gong's founder appears. This textbook, which is used in many schools, is published by the People's Education Publisher, printed in Guizhou province, and issued by Xinhua Bookstore in Guizhou Province. The article poisons the minds of many teachers and thousands of pure and kind-hearted children.

Zhang was firm in her belief, so she was sent to a so-called "strict discipline class," specifically set up to monitor Falun Gong practitioners....The prison doctor even used a knife to poke her mouth while saying, "Don't you dare to go on hunger strike! I'll teach you a lesson." She was left with half-inch long wounds on her tongue, and two patches of the flesh on her cheeks were dug away by the knife.

For the past three years, besides studying the Fa and practicing the exercises, this practitioner spent much of his time performing physical work for families in difficulty, those lacking people to do necessary hard labour. When he saw people needing help with planting rice shoots, he would volunteer to help. If he saw people needing help to carry heavy loads, he would also help. He would help fix the roads if he saw that they needed it. There were countless tasks like this that he contributed to.

"Today, Canadian courts have recognized that calling Falun Gong practitioners 'evil cult' members is illegal. I believe this ruling is the correct classification for the hate propaganda that Chinese officials have spread around the world about Falun Gong as an extension of -- and a veil to divert attention away from -- the genocide that is going on in China right now."

On January 30, 2004, a teaching symposium in Cochise County, "Teaching with Inspiration, Encouragement and Creation," was held at Buena High School in Sierra Vista, Arizona. Local Falun Gong practitioners were joined by some from Tucson to set up a booth to introduce Falun Gong.

According to SCMP, about 50 Falun Gong practitioners rallied on Monday (overnight Tuesday HK time), accusing China of pressuring the French government to suppress Falun Gong before and during Chinese President Hu Jintao's visit to Paris last week.
