An exclusive interview with Mr. Li Hongzhi, founder of the Falun Gong spiritual practice, aired globally at 9:00 p.m. EST January 20, 2004 on New Tang Dynasty Television (NTDTV). This is the first interview that Mr. Li has granted to media since 1999.

After Jiang's regime unjustifiably impeded Falun Gong practitioners from joining in the Chinese Spring Festival Parade in Paris, French Falun Gong practitioners decided to invite fellow practitioners from other European countries to come to Paris and jointly hold two parades. Local Chinese people who love Chinese culture and support Falun Gong also joined the parades.

As a result of pressure from China, permission for Falun Gong to hold activities during the Chinese New Year was withdrawn despite practitioners obtaining permission through proper legal channels. This has caused an infringement upon the public rights of a legal group in France. French Dafa practitioners held a press conference to expose the Chinese Embassy's actions.

The International Human Rights Organisation is a worldwide organisation for human rights, with twenty-five branches worldwide. It enjoys the attention of the European Parliament as well as having an Observer's Seat in the United Nations. As the President of the Austrian branch of the International Human Rights Association, Mrs. Glibb wrote a letter to the Mayor of Paris to express her concern about the Chinese Embassy blocking Falun Gong's application to participate in the Chinese New Year's parade.

On January the 11th 2004, London's Trafalgar Square saw UK Falun Gong practitioners gather to demonstrate the five Falun Gong exercises and perform a symbolic trial entitled “Bring Jiang to Justice”, which attracted many tourists. The Falun Gong practitioners who didn’t perform handed out materials to passersby. At times, people came to enquire about the activities and the persecution in China. Practitioners were happy to answer their questions.

Danish practitioners held activities and a picture exhibition in front of the city hall in Copenhagen on Chinese New Year's Eve. They appealed to bring Jiang Zemin to justice in a public trial and to stop the persecution of Falun Gong. They also celebrated the New Year with local people and let them know more about Falun Dafa.

The prison refused to allow his family to visit him, because he refused to give up his belief. Recently someone informed his family that Dr. Li could be dead if his family couldn't find a way to save him. Dr. Li's mother and two sisters live in Changsha city, which is 300 kilometers (186 miles) away from where he was captured. It is very difficult for his elderly mother to go back and forth, and his family has already spent all its saving. With grief Dr. Li's mother said, "My son was practising Falun Gong to be a good person. How could this become a crime?"

In July 2000 she was sent to Liaoyang City Forced Labour Camp (namely, Shizuizi), where she was forced to do hard labour for 18 to 20 hours every day. In order to visit her, her husband often rode a bicycle to the Camp and waited by its entrance, with the hope that he could see her, however, no matter how hard Zhou begged, jail guards including Sun Aiqin did not allow them to see each other, the reason is because Gao is steadfast in her belief in Falun Gong.

Around February 2000, during a public criminal trial at the Zhongfang County Police Department, Ms. Xiao was put on display with a large cardboard sign hung from her neck. The local television station broadcast the trial, in which Ms. Xiao was subjected to humiliation and personal insults. On May 18, 2003 the People's Court of Zhongfang County sentenced Ms. Xiao to three years of imprisonment.

Since July 1999, Falun Gong has encountered an unprecedented persecution. The Martin Luther King, Jr. Centre has continuously paid attention to this and supported Falun Gong practitioners peaceful and rational appeals. Consequently, Falun Gong practitioners were invited as honourable guests to attend the memorial ceremony.

January 22 is the first day of the Chinese lunar calendar year and is the birthday of Charles Lee who has been illegally imprisoned in Nanjing Jail for one whole year. Practitioners and Charles's fiancé gathered in front of Chinese Consulate in San Francisco to hold a candle light vigil to demand Jiang's regime to stop the persecution of Falun Gong and immediately release US citizen Charles Lee.
