Dafa Practitioners in Iceland Respectfully Wish our Honourable Master a Happy Chinese New Year!

As a result of pressure from China, permission for Falun Gong to hold activities during the Chinese New Year was withdrawn despite practitioners obtaining the permission through the proper channels. This has caused an infingement upon the public rights of a legal group in France.

Falun Gong practitioners had originally planned to hold a series of activities to celebrate the spring festival and to expose the Jiang regime’s persecution. Practitioners applied to the relevant departments for permission as usual. Instigated by an evil manipulator, the Chinese Embassy unreasonably obstructed the activities and applied pressure to the relevant French departments. This challenges the idea of democracy and freedom.

On November 24, 2003, Dafa practitioner Yan Hai from Zhangjiajou City, Hebei Province died as a result of torture he had endured. At the time of his death, his whole body was swollen, and his mouth and nose were stuffed with cotton. His body was very pale, including his mouth and tongue. The 251 Hospital doctors diagnosed him as "dying of dysfunction of blood circulation." But the doctors could not explain why his body was so pale. The reason was that he was losing large amounts of blood from the torture. He had became weaker and weaker everyday.

The detention centre director’s special skill is his use of electric shock batons. He once even ordered others to get three full lunch boxes of excrement and urine from the sewer. Then he pinched Fu Qimou's nose and ordered a male prisoner to force-feed him the excrement and urine. In the process of being force-fed, Mr. Fu Qimou's whole body was covered with excrement and urine. Swarms of flies were attracted to the filth and flew all around him. The scene of this torture was awful to witness.

These practitioners had suffered from inhuman tortures for persisting in their beliefs in Falun Gong. Their basic human rights had been deprived. Whenever they said that they would practice Falun Gong, then they would be beaten up. However, they never gave up. From their words and actions I came to better understand what compassion was. They selflessly helped others and never discriminated against us criminals, but only explained to us how to conduct ourselves in society.

Guo Xu, head of the health clinic at Heizuizi Labour Camp in Changchun City, took advantage of her position to torture practitioners. Using the excuse of "giving a physical examination" or" performing medical treatment," she first asks prisoners whether they are Falun Gong practitioners, and if the answer is yes, she takes out a 10 cm-long needle and inserts it under practitioners' fingernails.

On Dec. 31, the last day of 2003, I went to work with a whole bag of introductory newspapers and books about Falun Gong. I intended to leave the bag at my work site so that I would have immediate access to them whenever I want to distribute them in the future. A security guard told me that Dec. 31 was not a working day. She even called her superior, and insisted on not letting me in. I asked if I could drop the bag of newspapers and books in her office, and pick it up after the New Year. She said no.

On January 20, 2004, representatives of the Falun Dafa Association of Canada, the World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong and Mr. David Matas, renowned international human rights lawyer, held a press conference at the Canadian Parliament. The news conference announced how they have applied the Crimes Against Humanity and War Program (CAHWCP) to sanction those who persecute Falun Gong.

On January 20, 2004, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit accepted the appeals of Falun Gong practitioners on the lawsuit against Jiang Zemin. In the evening, Los Angeles practitioners held a candlelight vigil in front of the Chinese Consulate and sent forth righteous thoughts to support the lawsuit against Jiang.

Upon the arrival of the Eve of the 2004 Chinese New Year, news came that another fellow practitioner in China was tortured to death. Greater New York practitioners gathered in front of the Chinese Consulate and called for the end of the persecution, as well as bringing the killers to justice.
