After hearing that Changchun practitioner Mr. Liu Chengjun was persecuted to death by Jiang’s evil regime, Swiss Dafa practitioners gathered at the Chinese Consulate on December the 30th 2003 to mourn his death and appeal for his murderers to be brought to justice.

Every New Year, German and Austrian practitioners gather at Erbach, a small town in the South of Germany, to study the Fa [the principles and teachings of Falun Dafa], practise the exercises and share experiences. Some of the practitioners came from far away, and even those who had to worked during the day would come in the evening.

On December 8, 2003, Mr. Wu's son, Wu Gaoliang, received an unsigned letter from the 11th Confine Section of Chenyang Dabei Secondary Prison, stating that his father had oesophageal cancer and was to be released back to his family. On the morning of December 10, Wu Yuan's wife arrived at the hospital ward in Chenyang Prison and saw her husband's emaciated figure rolled up on a hospital bed. She didn't recognise him at first and had to ask him whether he was her husband. Wu Yuan nodded with difficulty. Crying, she embraced him for the last time. When he said something, the police interrupted and urged her to complete the procedures for bailing him out for medical treatment. She was forced to leave after only 30 minutes of seeing her husband.

The police waited until 2:00 p.m. on February 4, 2001 before informing Liu Zhifen's children to come to the police station. The police officer present shamelessly yelled at her children, "Liu Zhifen cultivated to the point of insanity and is dead!" Her family was shocked by the news and wanted to pursue justice for her. The police oficer shouted again, "She has already been sent to the crematory. You can go to see Jiang Zemin!"

On March 5, 2002, Falun Gong practitioners in China's northeastern city of Changchun broadcast programmes over China's state-run airwaves, exposing the systematic atrocities against Falun Gong practitioners and Jiang Zemin's attempts to cover them up. This exposure of the truth produced fear in the highest levels of the regime. Enraged, Jiang Zemin ordered to "kill without pardon" those responsible for the broadcast. Over the next few days, more than 5,000 people believed to be practitioners of Falun Gong were detained during an all-out and unprecedented police sweep in Changchun, and the city was under near-martial law. Dozens were killed as a result of police brutality during the round up. A total media blackout severely hampered many attempts to contact locals and confirm individual reports.

The Jiamusi Labour Camp continually forces Dafa practitioners to perform intense labour, and most of the time the work goes beyond a regular working day. They did not discriminate about what kind of work they would force us to do, as long as it made them money. Recently they got a contract with an individual who sent us piles of dirty flax materials that could only be found in refuse piles. The labour camp forced us to use these dirty materials to make cushions for car seats, which would not meet any reasonable quality standard at all. They did not mind hurting consumers in order to make themselves a profit.

On June 26 2003, there was a series of murder cases of beggars using poison in Cangnan Town, Wenzhou, Zhejiang. After media reported high-ranking officials including the Public Security Minister Zhou Yongkang and the Provincial Officials in Zhejiang gave instructions to these cases, on July 2, Xinhua News Agency carried an article by Lu Jin in which this case was said to be "done with an investigation" and it was "suspected that it was a Falun Gong follower." Our findings showed that this case may well be another excuse made up at the order of high ranking officials in the Public Security Ministry to try to justify the persecution of Falun Gong.

On the Eve of the New Year, as NTDTV and other Chinese organisations and individuals are preparing for the Inaugural Chinese New Year Global Gala, officials from the Chinese Consulates have been making the rounds to verbally attack NTDTV and the Gala. The Chinese Consulates' unreasonable, irrational interference with an organisation legally incorporated in the United States and other countries is highly unbefitting of their diplomatic status. In addition, this attempt to go outside China to extend their censorship of media oversteps bounds and looks backward, rather than forward.

In October 2003, the Undergraduate Student Association Council (USAC, a student government) at UCLA voted 11-0 to co-sign a letter to President Bush concerning the detention of Dr. Charles Lee. The letter was also signed by the President of LASA, the Latino American Students Association at UCLA, and the President and the entire Amnesty International club at UCLA. The letter was initiated by the Falun Gong club at UCLA.
