On December 30th 2003, a press conference was held in front of the Chinese Embassy in London to mourn the death of Liu Chengjun, a Falun Gong practitioner from the city of Changchun. UK practitioners appealed for an immediate investigation into Liu’s death, so that the murderers can be punished and the persecution brought to an end.

On December the 31st, heavy snow blanketed Munich. Dafa practitioners gathered in front of the Chinese Consulate, calling for those responsible for the death of Liu Chengjun to be punished and brought to justice. The World Organisation to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong has issued an urgent announcement to investigate Liu’s case.

These false fronts can easily deceive the foreign media and investors and lead them to believe that the forced labour camp is a comfortable resort - with deer even! Behind these expensive false fronts, many Falun Gong practitioners have been tortured and murdered in Tuanhe Forced Labour Camp. Imagine that Jiang Zemin's regime would spend a lavish amount of taxpayers' money to create a false impression that China's human rights have been improved so that it can lure foreign investors to the Chinese market, to evade worldwide condemnation and pressure to end the persecution, and to win the chance to host the Olympic Games, and, most importantly, to continue the persecution of Falun Gong.

On January 21, 2001, Pang Siyuan was transferred out of the brainwashing centre, together with her daughter. They were forcibly sent to the notorious Wanjia Labour Camp for one year of forced labour. Her husband was sent to the Changlinzi Labour Camp. A happy family was broken apart. Ms Siyuan had to endure more torture. She was detained again in November 2002, when she was cruelly tortured, both mentally and physically. Her physical condition kept deteriorating after she was released three months later. She died from the effects of these abuses and torments in May 2003.

My family then paid the money to the labour camp in exchange for my mum's release. However, the labour camp officials didn't release my mother as they promised. Two weeks later, the local police notified us that my mum was at the police station and could be released to us for an additional amount of 3,000 yuan. My family was really angry at their blatant corruption, yet had no choice but to pay them the money in hopes of reuniting my mother with the family. Those local officials! They don't help or serve the local people but instead take every opportunity to extort money from good people for their personal gain.

Every time Jiang Zemin's group of political cohorts instigates people's hatred toward Falun Gong by using slander, they fabricate a variety of lies, which are essential, as they can not quote directly from any of the Falun Gong books. Why couldn't they quote directly from Falun Gong's books to support these slanderous reports? Because Falun Gong texts clearly forbid Falun Gong practitioners from killing lives or committing suicide.

On December 31, 2003, CBC aired a report repeating a piece of news in which the media slandered Falun Gong. Falun Dafa Association of Canada wrote this letter requesting them to correct the damage.

"Practitioners who refuse to recant their beliefs are sometimes subjected to harsh treatment in prisons and re-education - through - labour camps. There have been credible reports of deaths due to torture and abuse. Thousands of individuals are still undergoing criminal, administrative and extra-judicial punishment for engaging in Falun Gong practices."
