A few tourists from Mainland China took pictures of practitioners when they saw the Falun Gong exercise demonstration. One western practitioner gave them a leaflet and told of his experiences and the benefits he received from practising Falun Gong. The Chinese tourists nodded and said that they also knew Dafa is good, but they did not know what to do about the situation in China.

One of the topics of the workshop will be to discuss how to deal with cases of genocide during the continuous persecution of the Falun Gong in China. By observing Falun Gong persecution cases, we discovered that the Internet and the Global economy is playing a role in modern genocide, which makes modern genocide different from genocide in the past.

December 2003 saw Xiong Wei spend a second birthday in Beijing Xinan labour camp. Practitioners in Chamer and the surrounding cities held a series of rescue activities to let more people know about Xiong Wei’s situation and learn the brutal facts of the persecution of Falun Gong by Jiang’s regime.

However, the authorities published a deceitful news article in Changchun City's New Culture News about Zhao Jing's cause of death that claimed she jumped out of a high-speed car and killed herself. Actually, one of the police officers that murdered Zhao Jing once shamelessly declared to a Dafa practitioner, "So we did kill Zhao Jing. Why don't you sue us if you can?" We also found the driver and tried to find out the actual cause of Zhao Jing's death.

Chen Ji was released from the camp in April 2002. He asked his work unit to return his ID card and asked to be returned to his former post. The director, Tian De, pushed the responsibility to the "610 Office" and would only allow Chen Ji to return to his post if he would sign statements promising not to practise Falun Gong and expressing regret over practising in the past. Faced with no other choice, Chen Ji had to take an outside job.

Shocking facts: As of December 2003, at least 24 Dafa practitioners whose names can be verified through civil channels were tortured to death in Daqing City. That is 18% of all torture deaths or deaths as a result of torture in Heilongjiang Province, and ranks only behind Harbin City, in which 27 practitioners were tortured to death or died as a result of torture. That makes Daqing City one of the areas with the most severe Falun Dafa persecution in China. Daqing City's government and the Party secretary are exclusively responsible for this persecution.

On December 18, 2003, the municipal court of Dehui held an unjust trial of thirteen Falun Gong practitioners who were still being imprisoned after their initial terms expired. After the court session began, Sun Ke, a family member of Falun Gong practitioner Sun Qian, exposed the crimes committed by the public security system in Dehui inside the courtroom. He told people how Sun Qian was detained beyond his term, and how he was tortured in an attempt to elicit a confession. After the court session ended, however, Sun Ke was kidnapped near the warning line outside the gate of the court by several policemen from the criminal guard section of the Dehui Municipal Public Security Bureau.

Since Jiang's regime claims, "the majority of Chinese people support the persecution of Falun Gong," we have a proposal in this Chinese new century. Hold a public referendum on the issue of Falun Gong. Jiang Zemin has persecuted Falun Gong for more than 1,000 days. He can give Falun Gong practitioners two hours and allow Falun Gong practitioners to select their representatives and go on CCTV, to talk about the facts and give reasons why the persecution should end.

Upon learning of the torture death of Mr. Liu Chengjun on December 26th, my tears kept running down my face. No words can express my deep sorrow. I can only suppress my sadness and write this short article to commemorate our hero. For the past year, I've seen news about him. At the time of his arrest, the police shot him in the leg, knowing he was already injured. He suffered numerous tortures in jail. Two months ago, he fell into a coma. Now he is gone, after suffering 21 months of torture.

Mr. Liu Chengjun, a Changchun Falun Gong practitioner, one of the first to tap into the Changchun cable TV system and broadcast Dafa truth-clarification videos, died from long term torture early on the morning of December 26, 2003. Falun Gong practitioners in the Bay area in northern California, U.S.A. held a memorial service and a candlelight vigil at in front of the Chinese consulate in San Francisco. They called for the punishment of Jiang Zemin and those responsible police officers in Changchun City.

After hearing that another Dafa practitioner, Liu Chengjun, was tortured to death on December 26, 2003, Falun Gong practitioners from Tainan, Taiwan and the Global Coalition to Rescue Falun Gong Practitioners Taiwan Branch held a candlelight vigil on January 1, 2004 to commemorate Dafa practitioner Liu Chengjun.

"We wish to celebrate the New Year practicing the exercises and informing people that right now in China, tens of thousands of Falun Gong practitioners are being brutally persecuted for persisting in their beliefs."

The archaeological team, under the direction of Dr. Tim White from the University of California, found that the fossilised partial skulls were dated to be 160,000 years old. They were found in what is today central Ethiopia, and include the skulls of two adults and one 6 or 7 year old child. The fossilised partial skulls look very similar to those of modern human beings. The facial character of the skulls looks almost the same as modern humans, especially the skull of a child, which has no visible difference from that of a modern child. It was determined the skulls date back to 154,000 to 160,000 years ago.
