"My son suffered these tortures only because he practised Falun Gong – a cultivation practice which not only brought him good health and happiness, but also guided him to be a decent person. In other words, it was only because he insisted on his belief in “Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance.” That period was the most miserable time for us, since we worried about him every day, and we did not know what would become of him."

In order to meet the government’s required quota for the number of “transformed” Falun Gong practitioners, the daily techniques used at the Dalian Reeducation Camp range from “reeducation” videos denigrating Falun Gong playing around-the-clock to sleep deprivation, freezing, burning, electric shock torture, force feeding torture and sexual assault.

World famous artist Zhang Cuiying was not able to hold her scheduled painting exhibition at the Bulgarian Parliament. Even though invitations had been sent out ten days beforehand, the exhibition was cancelled to satisfy objections from the Chinese Consulate. The reason for this was not that there were problems with the paintings themselves, but because the artist had been brutally tortured whilst detained in a labour camp in China and is now considered a dissident by the Chinese government.

Thirty-two-year-old Hou Lijun is a security guard at the Taiyuan City Industrial and Commercial Bank. He was arrested by policemen Yang Zhigang and Li Jingfeng from the police squad in October 2002 when he was printing truth-clarifying materials. A policeman in the Wanbolin Police Station confirmed Hou Lijun's detention. He said nobody was allowed to visit Hou. "We never allow anyone to visit the detainee in such cases. It doesn't matter who you call."

After Hua Haiyu's death, some officials from the Materials and Equipment Company coerced his wife Piao Yufan to write a "guarantee statement"* to give up Dafa practice. Piao Yufan refused, so her work unit didn't allow her son and daughter-in-law to work. Piao Yufan was forced to leave home. As the result of the persecution, her son and daughter-in-law divorced. They had been caretakers for their grandmother, Piao Yufan's mother, who is in her 80's. She is now left uncared for. A family is now broken and destitute.

Ms. Li Chuanping recently died, never recovering from the injuries sustained from torture in police captivity. The villainous Jiang Zemin group has broken and destroyed another happy family. A husband lost his wife and a son lost his mother. This is only the tip of an iceberg of the crimes the Jiang group has committed against Dafa practitioners.

He was recently "tried" again, this time in secret, and was sentenced to an outrageous sentence of 12 years in prison. All because the Jiang Zemin regime has outlawed a practice which has tremendous benefits to body, mind and spirit and follows Truthfulness - Compassion - Tolerance

A press conference was held in Vancouver October 19 for the Falun Gong Cross Canada Tour for Justice. The car tour will cross Canada, to thank the Canadian people and government's efforts to rescue Falun Gong practitioners and call for Canadian people to work together to bring Jiang Zemin to justice.

The annual American Royal Parade of Kansas City was held in October every year. Falun Gong practitioners were invited to participate in this community activity and they showed the peace and beauty of Falun Dafa to thousands of residents.

I was sent to the detention centre because of my belief and my conscience. A prisoner who had been sentenced to death asked me, "If you are right and kind, why were you sent here? Don't you talk about retribution?" I then wrote the following poem.

The stone rubbing calligraphy of Yan Qin Li Bei was written by Yan Zhenqing in 779 AD and excavated in October 1922 in Chang’an City known today as Xi’an. Yan Zhenqing (709-785 AD) was an expert calligrapher during the Tang Dynasty and built the stone for his great-grandfather. The stone remains in good condition after being buried underground for many years.
