October the 10th was the annual Cultural Festival in Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark. Practitioners hoped that their actions would allow people to learn more about Falun Gong and the persecution in China. They gave out leaflets to the large audience and within a short period of time, all of the Dafa materials were gone.

The response we received was amazing. The Chinese students seemed to have been waiting for us and we couldn’t clarify the truth fast enough. One young lady talked with a practitioner about the way Jiang’s regime treat practitioners in China. She knew about the persecution of Falun Gong and stated clearly that it is wrong. The girl told the practitioner that Chinese people all share the same disdain for this dictator who is bringing a bad name to China.

Government officials in the know comment that this is a tactic often used by the Party, which is to simply change the outward appearance and not the nature of something. The name of the "610 Office" has a terrible reputation, so the government resorted to a name change in order to deal with foreign lawsuits as well as the overseas media.

Her family members took her for a medical examination. The doctors found a tumour in her body. However, during surgery, it turned out that the "tumour" was in fact a chunk of gore. After Lu Qiangfang checked out of the hospital, she still could not take care of herself and had to remain in bed all day long. She could not eat and lost control of her bladder. After several months of pitiful suffering, Lu Qiangfang passed away in September 2003.

Recently, Li Shufen went to Harbin City to visit her son, who was in solitary confinement at the time. When she saw him he looked completely deformed - he was just skin and bones. Li Shufen was extremely shocked and deeply grieved. After she returned home, the police continued to harass and persecute her, and she eventually passed away on September 9, 2003.

Police officer Yang stood aside and sneered with vicious words, "I watched you go on hunger strike. You have experienced it now, so which would you prefer? Eating by yourself or having us feed you forcefully?" The things forced into his stomach were not all food, but often a very concentrated salt solution.

On August 18th 2003, more than 10 Long Wan Xiong policemen illegally searched an elderly Falun Dafa practitioner's home at Yi Ge village for no reason. Several older practitioners were there practising at the time (two of them in their 70's, two in their 60's, one in his 50's). The sudden intrusion shocked them. The policemen confiscated Falun Dafa materials and forced several of the elderly practitioners to write a "guarantee note" [a note promising to give up the practice of Falun Dafa and not associate with Falun Dafa practitioners].

Mr. Zheng, a Dafa practitioner, was arrested and imprisoned for raising awareness about the persecution. Upon entering his cell, the head of the cell immediately expressed his greetings, "All other cells have Falun Gong practitioners in them. I heard that Falun Gong is quite marvelous. Our cell is the only cell that doesn't have Falun Gong practitioners. How come they are just so unfair to our cell? It's wonderful now that you are here. Hurry up and teach me the exercises."

A simple Chinese character contains a lot of information. For instance, the Chinese character for “busy” is constructed by the character for “heart” on one side and “death” on the other. The character indicates that when a person gets “busy”, his or her “heart” tends to become “dead”. A man with dead heart is inclined to get into trouble. The Chinese word for “hurry” depicts a picture of a messy wasteland blanketed with weeds.

Falun Gong practitioners from North America, Europe and Asia gathered on the Old Market Square in Houston on October 10 2003, and called on the public to pay attention to the persecution of Falun Gong in China.

Before the candlelight memorial meeting, 3AK, a radio station in Melbourne, conducted a live interview with Ms. Vereshaka. The radio host was shocked to learn that tragedies like Ouyang Ming's are still happening in China in 2003.
