Almost 2000 flyers were distributed and nearly everyone who passed by the Friends of Falun Gong booth accepted one. During the concert, whilst the audience was listening to the music, people who worked at the concert hall, security guards, vendors etc, all came to find out more.

Practitioners performed the five sets of Falun Dafa exercises, and distributed materials so that new students could learn more about the brutal persecution that is happening in China. Practitioners handed out around 3,000 English flyers. More than 100 Chinese Vdoe-CDs were handed out in one day.

People were surprised and could not quite understand why Falun Dafa is being persecuted. They expressed sympathy for the practitioners who are still being persecuted in China and immediately signed a petition to end this persecution. Passers-by also felt that China’s dictator, Jiang Zemin, should be brought to justice and held responsible for his actions.

Over summer and autumn, practitioners in the city of Gävle held an exhibition about Falun Gong in several different venues. The exhibition portrays the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China and lets people know more about the lawsuits filed in several European countries against Jiang Zemin and members of his regime.

Luo Gan did not receive a warm welcome. Instead, he experienced a large-scale protest against him by Amnesty International, Falun Gong practitioners and Icelandic citizens. The people knew about Luo Gan’s role as one of the heads of the “610 Office”, an organisation specially set up in June 1999 to systematically persecute Falun Gong under the orders of former President of China, Jiang Zemin.

Afterwards, Sun's father repeatedly visited the county police department and "610 Office" to inquire into the cause of his son's death and ask for the autopsy report and other information. County Police Chief Wang Guoliang turned down his requests. They eventually gave him a copy of the fabricated autopsy report under pressure from the county government. The family requested compensation for the wrongful death. Wang Guoliang, Liu Xiquan and others said, "Your son broke the law and jumped out of a train. How can we compensate you for it?" Sun's father told Chen Yangke from the "610 Office," "My son was tortured to death by Luo Ming and Li Wei. He did not jump out of the train." Chen Yangke didn't say a word.

On October 1, 2001, Dafa practitioners from Guilin City in Guangxi Province: Mr. Huang Tenghui, Mr. Li Jun and Mr. Zheng Yuanhu, were arrested for making Dafa truth clarifying materials and detained in Guilin City's Second Detention Centre. On January 31, 2003, the three were illegally sentenced to outrageous terms of 10, 9 and 8 years of imprisonment, respectively.

In order to persecute Falun Gong, the Jiang Zemin regime spared no expense or human resources. It allocated four million Yuan [500 Yuan is the average monthly income for an urban worker in China.] to build the new Chaoyanggou Forced Labour Camp. On January 18, 2002, everyone was moved into the new site. At the original location, the number of Falun Gong practitioners in each team ranged from a few to over a dozen. At the new location Falun Gong practitioners from all over the province, who were illegally detained at forced labour camps were transferred to Chaoyanggou Forced Labour Camp.

In May 2002, officers from Chenzhou Police Bureau and Hengyang Railroad Police Station illegally arrested her. She was taken to Hengyang city, where the police used the most inhuman methods to torture her. For instance, they handcuffed her hands and feet to an iron gate for more than six hours, stuffed live earthworms into her mouth, and even put a live eel into her underpants.

One day, I shared a cab with my co-worker. While I was clarifying the truth to him, the taxi driver was also quietly listening in. We talked about the staged "self-immolation" and Jiang's political gang's persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners. After my co-worker listened for awhile, he asked me what the deal was with those murder cases that are shown on TV. At that moment, the taxi driver suddenly spoke up, "Those things from the Party are all lies. Dafa practitioners are all kind people."

The Falun Gong procession was very eye-catching. After the leading banner "Falun Dafa in the World", it was the Chinese traditional Lion Dance that westerners loved very much. Next was a beautiful float decorated in lotus flowers and some practitioners sat or stood to demonstrate the five sets of exercises.

Many local people came to the rally to sign the petition, including the chief commissioner of the local Democratic Progress Party. A written statement was issued to condemn the suppression and the persecution conducted by Jiang and his high-ranking official accomplices. The activity attracted many local residents and travellers to stop and sign, expressing support at a fundamental level.

An Ottawa practitioner expressed her feeling upon hearing the news: "This book will no longer poison the citizens in Ottawa with its hatred and viciousness. The Chinese here especially will not be influenced by it and will therefore be able to form an unbiased understanding of Falun Gong."
