A Swiss participant at the Forum said, “I have read all of your materials. What you’re doing is really important...It is incredible that Jiang Zemin is oppressing such kind-hearted people. I’ll bring up the issue of Falun Gong practitioners’ human rights to the Chinese delegation at the press conference later on.”

'The US-based Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) on Friday warned that a proposed anti-subversion law poses a grave threat to freedom of expression in Hong Kong...Human rights and pro-democracy groups fear that China could use the new law to suppress freedoms including those of media, speech and religion, as well as to ban groups it considers a threat.'

On Friday, Falun Gong took centre stage at the “Peace and Tranquillity” event, which was a huge success. Many students watched and learnt the beautiful exercises and were amazed that no money was involved. One person commented that when she entered the room the Dafa music was incredibly powerful. The event organisers said that the atmosphere was so peaceful that they didn’t want to leave.

"[The] Chinese government simply ignores the truth and continues to persecute practitioners using beatings, torture, and even killing thousands of people, breaking up their families and rendering them homeless. Furthermore the persecution has spread overseas, with the illegal detention of a US practitioner. This is absolutely intolerable."

Tinch Minter is a Cambridge-based playwright. After learning about the Jiang regime’s brutal persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners, she chose to portray her sympathy and concern by composing a play for two relatives of UK Dafa practitioners who are currently being illegally detained in China.

Then they handcuffed my parents and forced them to go to a detention centre. It was a frightening scene! I didn't want them to go, but the strangers didn't listen. It's been two months since then. I miss my parents very much! My uncle went to the detention centre to try to get my parents to come home, but he was told, "Both were sentenced to forced labour education for three years.

When I was force-fed, I was pinned to the ground by four or five inmates. Such pressure on top of me made me feel like my internal organs were going to rupture. After the force-feeding, my whole body was usually covered with blood. From my own experience, I could imagine what kind of torment D3 must have endured.

The schools force all students to buy the books that slander Dafa. Taking advantage of the young students' lack of ability to differentiate between fact and fiction, the government takes all means to plant the seeds of hatred toward Falun Gong in their innocent minds.

Ms Zhang Wenyu, was an employee of the Wuhan City Electric Power 3rd Department. After being brainwashed by the evil "610 Office," she took the initiative to persecute Dafa practitioners in the brainwashing centre. She kept practitioners from going to sleep and forbade them to go to the toilet to the point of being incontinent. She also informed the "610 Office" on other Dafa practitioners.

While we were distributing the truth-clarifying VCD’s, a well-known PhD engineer talked to us. He recalled that he felt nervous and afraid when he received our leaflets and newspapers one year ago. However, he knew the truth now. He said that the cultures of other countries could barely be compared with the Chinese culture. Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is the essence of Chinese culture.

"Our locality also has been harassing and arresting Falun Gong practitioners. Some people who are old enough be my grandmother were detained in a middle school during the summer. They took off their clothes and forced them to run around the playground. What is this? I would say that it's a moral disaster! Who does not have any parents? What have they done? Did they rob anybody? Did they kill anybody? Those who really kill or rob people are left alone!"

One associate head of a work unit happened to be the husband of a Falun Gong practitioner. When his work unit held a meeting to discuss whether or not they needed to form a "610" office [see main text for explanation], the husband opposed the establishment of such an office and stated the disadvantages of doing it. Other leaders agreed with him, as they were suspicious of the police.

When I am connected from the bottom of my heart through the pictures of practitioners who were practising exercises and sending righteous thoughts, it was just like I transcended the limitation of time and space and joined everything through righteous thoughts with them.

Jiang's Regime is now creating propaganda accusing the rest of the world of "driving out practitioners" and in Australia even arresting them. These lies have been created to try and deceive practitioners in labour camps. The actual truth is that Falun Gong is welcomed in other countries with Falun Gong receiving much support and praise including the founder, Li Hongzhi, being nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize 4 times.

Many observers say they believe at the heart of this proposed legislation lies Beijing's continuing crackdown on the outlawed Falun Gong movement. [Falun Gong] is illegal on the mainland but under Hong Kong law members are free to practice. Falun Gong supporters and human rights activists fear the new laws will be used to shut down the movement in Hong Kong.

"Now Jiang's regime is making up some charges and trying to put this man behind bars for up to fifteen years without any evidence and with no chance of a fair trial. We are very concerned for his safety. We urge you to please follow the lead of Charles' Congresswoman, Ms. Anna Eshoo, and write to the U.S. Embassy in Beijing or to Colin Powell, asking them to get our fellow citizen out."
