"After hearing about and understanding the details of the plight of Falun Gong practitioners in China, I will insist on my stance and continue to respect their belief and guard their rights of expression."

Many people requested to sign a petition to stop Jiang's persecution and to free Xiong Wei (sister of an Israeli citizen) who was arrested in China for handing out flyers in public. Others wanted to learn the exercises immediately or asked where could they get a copy of Zhuan Falun, the main text of Falun Dafa.

"The Chinese government have blocked the media so that the Chinese people don't get to hear the truth about Falun Gong. I am sending you this e-mail to ask you to condemn the persecution and also to ask the Irish Government to condemn it. The more people that know the truth about Falun Gong the better."

'"This is a giant step backward from the system as we know it in Hong Kong, which is open justice and open trial," said lawmaker Audrey Eu..."This is absurd," said Albert Ho, a lawmaker from the opposition Democratic Party.'

"...The Chinese leader, Jiang Zemin has flouted his country’s laws. He is pursuing power and interest, fooling his own subjects, ganging together for illegal activities and cracking down on dissidents. Consequently, the party and social morality is on the decline and social problems and crimes are rampant..."

Mr. Zhang Yunyi was formerly a medical doctor in the Beijing Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine Hospital. In summer 2000, he was wrongfully sentenced to one year of forced labour because he distributed Dafa truth-clarifying materials. He was imprisoned in Beijing's notorious Tuanhe Forced Labour Camp and suffered various tortures. After he was released, to avoid further persecution, he was forced to leave home

There are so many tall buildings in the city, why did she not jump down to kill herself before, but commit the so-called "suicide" only after being kidnapped to the brainwashing centre? She was pregnant and told her mother-in-law that she wanted to give birth to the baby. How could she possibly to kill herself?

A practitioner named Yao Yan became paralysed in his lower body after being forced to sit on the tiger bench for extended periods of time. Another gentleman, named Yao Shengdong, was tortured to the point of becoming mentally ill. There was also a family of three in which both the husband and wife practise Falun Gong. Their daughter does not practise, but because she tried to prevent the bad people from taking her parents away, she was also arrested.

The cold-hearted police pushed the mother and daughter-in-law out of the door amidst the crying of the young boy, and then forced them into the police car… They did not know how to cook. In the beginning, kind-hearted neighbours brought some meals to the young boy, but he always thought about his mother, and often cried himself to sleep. The effect on his little heart was detrimental.

At 1 a.m. on February 6, 2003, my mother, Yang Yueli, called from Beijing and told me that she had safely returned home after having been detained for 400 days and nights. Due to the endless effort of the Global Mission to Rescue Persecuted Falun Gong Practitioners, the intense pressures from international organisations and overseas media, and with the help from millions of kind-hearted people all over the world, the Chinese regime finally released my mother who was detained groundlessly just because she practises Falun Gong.

The manager added, "Falun Gong must be amazing, otherwise why is Jiang trying like crazy to beat it? They are just practising exercises. Just let them go all out to do the exercises, what would be wrong with that? After thousands years of advocating the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance, why is it banned now? I really can't understand it!"

When something happened to a fellow practitioner, other practitioners would sincerely solve the problem for him. I could see that those practitioners considered other practitioners’ affairs their own affairs. When a problem arose, they did not try to “educate” and oppress practitioners but would solve the problem with him from their hearts.

On February 11, to rescue Dr. Xiangchun Li (Charles Li) and let him return to the US as soon as possible, Falun Gong practitioners from San Francisco area held a photo exhibition and petition signature collection at downtown Menlo Park, where Dr. Li resided.

Mr. Chan is a 70-years old senior citizen who is full of kindness. In December 2001, Mr. Chan was visiting his relatives in Myanmar and also translating the book Zhuan Falun. He was arrested and sentenced to 7 years in prison by the Myanmar authorities solely because he unfurled a small banner that read "Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance" on the street to the airport when China's dictator Jiang was visiting Myanmar.

'In November 2002, the Chicago City Council issued a resolution in support of Falun Gong practitioners. The resolution states that the United States should use every appropriate and public and private forum to urge the government of the People’s Republic of China to release all Falun Gong practitioners from detention and put an end to the practices of torture and other cruel, inhumane and degrading treatment against them.'
