"In July 1999, the Chairman of China’s Communist Party declared Falun Gong illegal and initiated a campaign to annihilate the practice and its adherents within 3 months. Now almost 4 years later the confirmed death toll stands at 572. Hundreds of thousands are detained in labour camps without trial; reports of systemic torture and brainwashing are well documented by human rights groups such as Amnesty International."

"With great concern, I have come to learn about the imprisonment of Dr. Charles Li, a US Citizen, who was detained after arriving at Guangzhou Airport on January 22 this year. He is facing a sentence of up to 15 years in a Chinese prison on dubious charges and is only allowed 30 minutes per month of contact with the US Embassy."

'Democratic Party leader Yeung Sum on Sunday accused the Hong Kong government of engaging in "distortion" of public views submitted over controversial proposed national [anti-subversion] laws..."The government has gone from wrong to wrong, from proposing to introduce such draconian laws in the first place, to outright distortion of public opinion and manipulation of public consensus when public opinion is not on the government's side," Yeung said.'

Nancy Chen and Charles Li are citizens of Australia and America respectively. Both were recently unjustly arrested in China by the Jiang regime because they are practitioners of Falun Gong. However, they have been treated entirely differently by the Chinese authorities. This article explains the reasons behind these enormous differences and uncovers an unsettling and devious arrangement.

At the same time, a so-called "reform in 100 days" propaganda movement was launched in the camp, reflecting a trend seen in labour camps across Heilongjiang Province. The enforcers of this "reform movement" instigated the prisoners to torture Dafa practitioners. It was learned that the labour camp gave the order, "no matter what method is used, whoever from among the prisoners reforms a Dafa practitioner will be rewarded with three to six months of sentence reduction."

Some practitioners were tied up for 7 to 8 continuous hours, and fell unconscious. After one practitioner lost consciousness for a second time, the practitioner had to be sent to the hospital for emergency treatment. The doctor could not bear to watch and said, "This person really needs rest." However, when the practitioner was taken back to the forced labour camp, he was tortured the same way again.

During the persecution of Falun Gong he had accepted numerous cash awards for arresting Falun Dafa practitioners in the area. The police officer complained that it was increasingly more difficult to catch practitioners... His dirty income had dropped severely. When he learned that the housekeeper once practised Falun Gong, he was overjoyed. He planned to arrest her immediately and turn her in for the cash reward.

These Falun Dafa practitioners suffer endless torture, both mentally and physically in the labour camp. They are unable to appeal, protest, and be heard. The prison guards often say, "You are a practitioner. You have to bear whatever you encounter." Most of the torture was ordered by the prison guards. The persecution is a crime against humanity, which no Dafa practitioner should have to bear.

In his drive to eradicate Falun Gong he has also slandered, pressurised and tried to intimidate practitioners of all the nationalities in the 50 or more countries (China being but one) where Falun Gong is practised. He has tried this with a propaganda campaign both at home and abroad, the low cunning of which is historically unmatched. He has hoodwinked his own people with these lies and effectively made it illegal for them to be good!

She was very upset by this and said, "I have read Zhuan Falun. It merely teaches people to have a heart of compassion. You are all good people. In my city, they also arrested people who practise Falun Gong. I said to the persons who were responsible for the arrests, that they should not be so excessive, that Falun Dafa practitioners are just good people acquiring good health through practising. If you continue like this, you will lose the support of the citizens."

A Falun Dafa practitioner was posting truth clarifying materials on the trees along the river, and was noticed by two plainclothes policemen. After taking down two of the posters, the two policemen began to chase the practitioner by bicycle. After letting the practitioner pass by, the elderly man stood in the middle of the road and blocked the policemen.

This organisation has placed on file the case of Mr. Wang Xinzhong, father of Ms. Wang Bo, who has been kidnapped for the second time, and will systematically and thoroughly investigate the institutions and individuals in China who plotted and participated in the persecution of Falun Gong through media defamation.

"I just thank the efforts of the Canadian government and those who have participated in this international campaign to rescue our family members from illegal imprisonment and torture. I owe my mother's release to these efforts."

Jiang's regime is making up some charges and trying to put this man behind bars for up to fifteen years without any evidence and with no chance of a fair trial. We are very concerned for his safety. We urge you to please follow the lead of Charles' Congresswoman, Ms. Anna Eshoo, and write to the U.S. Embassy in Beijing or to Colin Powell, asking them to get our fellow citizen out.
