After learning about the persecution, some people expressed their sympathy for the suffering Dafa practitioners in Mainland China and expressed their anger at the brutal persecution that the Jiang regime has enforced on Falun Gong. I told them how Canadian practitioners successfully rescued seven family members with the help of the Canadian government and citizens. They all felt encouraged and were happy to offer their help in any way possible.

Many of the Chinese people have been deceived by the web of lies created by Jiang Zemin, so the practitioners hoped to help them see the goodness of Dafa and the truth about the brutal persecution being carried out by the Jiang regime.

On the 14th January 2003, UK Dafa practitioners joined the worldwide peaceful appeal in front of Chinese embassies and consulates by holding an activity in front of the Chinese consulate in Manchester.

These courageous practitioners broadcast on TV the truth of the persecution against Falun Gong, and exposed the lies and deception the Jiang regime propaganda machine has used to fool the Chinese nation. Their message was clear: Falun Gong is good. Restore the good name of Dafa. For this selfless act they have been subjected to terrible ordeals.

They used all kinds of tactics to try to shake my belief. They tied my arms and legs to the four corners of a bed so that I could barely move. It was very painful when they force-fed me every day in this position... They would then shamelessly say that it was all for my benefit.

For those practitioners who had not studied the Fa [ the teachings of Falun Dafa] well, the "teaching assistants" would talk about the so-called philosophy of "the art of being a person," and put up a strong defence in favour of the dictator, using the Party's atheistic logic to fill the practitioners' brains.

Recently the authorities have been using such contemptible means to arrest and persecute Dafa practitioners. By taking advantage of Dafa practitioners' compassion and trust in others, they entrapped practitioners who had left their homes into coming back to their hometowns, and then illegally arrested them.

She started to yell and curse at me without any reason. This time I no longer tolerated it passively. I stood up calmly while everyone was sitting down. I seriously and firmly said to her, "Don't think that because I practise Zhen, Shen, Ren (Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance,) you can let your evil side go wild! Falun Dafa practitioners' compassion is mighty and solemn."

He said, "These days only Falun Gong dares to speak up for themselves. Everyone nowadays knows that Wang Jindong who set fire on himself in Tiananmen Square wasn't a Falun Gong practitioner, and that Falun Gong practitioners don't cross their legs like that." I asked him, "How do you know about this?" He replied, "Everyone says so."

I noticed that if I got to know the Chinese people better before we touched on the subject of Falun Gong, they were more open-minded and were able to understand the truth easily. A typical case was when I met with two girls. We sat and talked for almost an hour before I told them that I practise Falun Gong, and they were not afraid but instead rather curious and had many questions.

Tragically, after Falun Gong was banned, thousands of its followers have been put in prisons, slave labor camps, and mental hospitals...Government sources in China report that at least 1600 people have died as a result of torture, including a young mother and her 7-month old baby.
