The activity continued for four hours, but the Italians were not fully satisfied. Some asked when we would practise the exercises again. Some simply suggested to the organiser to hold an exercise practice every week.

The International Education Development (IED) made an official statement at the United Nations on August 14, 2001: "...The regime points to a supposed self-immolation incident in Tiananmen Square on January 23, 2001 as proof" to slander Falun Gong. "However, we have obtained a video of that incident that in our view proves that this event was staged by the government. We have copies of that video available for distribution."

As soon as Li was sent to the labour camp, she started a hunger strike to oppose the evil persecution. During her hunger strike, her health was in a critical condition a few times. Her family also strongly requested to see her several times but their request was rejected each time.

Dafa practitioner Zhao Dexiu, a retired cadre of the post office in Xinyang City, Henan Province, was tortured to death in 2002. Because he firmly upheld his belief in "Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance," Mr. Zhao was arrested and subjected to inhumane torture by the city police department. As a result of the relentless torment, he became mentally retarded.

After five or six months of torture in the detention centre, Liu was merely skins and bones and was on the verge of death. In order to avoid responsibility, the police drove him home in a police car on January 14, 2003. Two police officers laid Liu on the bed. At that time, Liu Jinshan could not open his mouth to speak or swallow food. He died at 7 a.m. on January 19, 2003.

In a period of a few hours, he was tortured to the extent that his limbs were twitching uncontrollably and he was not in a clear state of mind. After examination, it was found that he had been repeatedly struck in the head with a heavy object. There were also internal injuries throughout his body. The hospital refused to continue treatment. He died on June 14, 2002.

"Since July 1999, the Chinese government has forbidden the movement of Falun Gong practitioners and has launched a repression against them. They are victims of an increasing use of torture in order to force them to renounce being part of the movement and reeducation through labour is largely used in the brutal campaign against them."

"The arrest and incarceration of Mr Chan is a violation of the human rights of Mr Chan and internationally recognised norms of legal practice...We urge you to pay immediate attention to the imprisonment of Mr Chan and do everything possible to ensure immediate restoration of his freedom."

Several Falun Gong practitioners from Belgium, Hong Kong, and Taiwan held a peaceful appeal in front of the European Union Minister Council Building and called on the European Union to urge the Myanmar government to release Chan Wing-yuen, who is illegally imprisoned.

"Please tell me, exactly which part of being peaceful, courageous, and believing in Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance is a crime that warrants persecution and imprisonment?"

Dr. Li's fiancée, Ms. Yeong-ching Foo, appealed for his unconditional release. "Charles is a loving and caring person." Ms. Foo said. "He was going to spend the Chinese New Year with his parents." His so-called "crime" is that he happens to practise Falun Gong.

Falun Dafa saved Cao Kai from the agony of disease. This good man suffered inhumane torture only because he believed in "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance." Jiang's regime almost tortured him to death. We sincerely appeal to all kind-hearted people to help rescue Cao Kai and thousands of other Falun Gong practitioners who, like him, are suffering unspeakable horrors under this tyranny.

I cannot believe that the Chinese government would want to arrest such a kind and honest person. Of course, I worry for Charles’ safety. I care for him very much. But I know he has done nothing wrong, and I believe he will come home soon.

On January 26, Australia National Day, local Falun Gong practitioners participated in a grand celebration parade in Brisbane..The Falun Gong procession with its Lotus dance, Fan dance, decorated float and Tang Dynasty costume show won applause from the audience, and the beauty of Falun Dafa was exhibited.

On the afternoon of January 14, 2003, the office of Lin Zhuoshui, a member of the Legislative Committee, and the Taiwan Falun Dafa Association together held a public hearing on the lawsuit charging Jiang Zemin with the crimes of genocide...

'The programme lasted over thirty minutes and covered all the channels on the local cable TV...The report was broadcast to Mainland China as well as to the Chinese community in Paris.'

"They treated me as if I was a high-level spy," Chen told The Associated Press over the phone. "I was not allowed to leave the hotel room or to make any phone calls. They confiscated all my stuff."
