Zhu Baolian, sister of UK resident Zhu Baosheng, and Zhu Yongjie, the fiancée of overseas student Dr. Xie Weiguo, have been illegally sentenced and imprisoned in China because they practise Falun Gong. Baolian and Yongjie’s stories have not only touched the hearts of the UK people, but also moved the Chinese people who have been able to see through the Jiang regime’s lies. All kind-hearted people are awakening and seeing the truth behind the brutal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners.

Each of the guests was given a yellow ribbon. It symbolised that, as well as enjoying the celebration, they expressed their concerns and best wishes for those democracy supporters and Falun Gong practitioners who are suffering persecution and have been imprisoned for their belief in China.

Due to the joint efforts of the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the "Nancy Chen Urgent Rescue Team," and many other concerned parties, Nancy Chen was finally released at about 10:30 a.m. on January 30, 2003 (Beijing time).

I was a healthy woman, but now I was disabled, skin and bones, with white hair. Whenever my colleagues came to visit, they were shocked, "You no longer look like a person in your early forties. They changed you into an old lady with their torture!" Seeing my appearance after being tortured, people would ask, "Is this the kind of 'caring and love' shown to Falun Gong practitioners in the TV programmes?"

After hearing their teacher had been arrested, Mr. Ding's teenaged students were frightened and worried. With tears in their eyes they exclaimed, "Our teacher is great! He never blamed us. Whenever we had questions, he always explained the answers to us patiently, with a smile, until we understood." "Our teacher is such a wonderful teacher, but he was arrested just for telling us that Falun Dafa is great. What they did isn't fair!"

Although my writing may not be elegant, these are the facts of what happened. A girl has experienced persecution to such a degree, and her family members have also suffered such great pain. Only because of cultivating "truthfulness, compassion, forbearance," many practitioners have experienced different degrees of persecution.

The directors of the labour camp acknowledged all the means of corporal punishment conducted by the Tuanhe Forced Labour Camp. The policemen in every Brigade then carry them out. When directly confronted with their use of such methods, they would become agitated and invent ridiculous excuses such as they are only conducting "Physical Training" in order to cover up their crimes.

As well as the exercise demonstration, practitioners set up a photo exhibition, gave away free Falun Dafa balloons and bookmarks to children, and also demonstrated the fine art of Chinese calligraphy, attracting hundreds of people who took away samples of the fine art as well as Falun Dafa information.

Starting on January 21, practitioners from Busan, Daegu and other southern areas held a sit-in appeal in front of the Chinese General Consulate, requesting the Chinese government to release all illegally detained practitioners unconditionally.

'Falun Gong spokeswoman Sophie Xiao in Hong Kong expresses dismay over Mr. Lee's detention. Ms. Xiao said the charges against Mr. Lee could carry a penalty of 15 years in prison. "We really feel shocked because this persecution is not only being applied to Chinese citizens," she said. "Now the persecution against the Falun Gong has extended to foreign nationals."'

'Ms Chen disappeared last week while visiting her parents in the city of Chengdu in south-west province of Sichuan. The embassy sent two consular officials to Chengdu yesterday after confirmation she had been detained by police. Chinese officials have made no public statement about her arrest.'

'China has detained an American follower of the banned Falun Gong spiritual movement, accusing him of sabotaging television and radio broadcasting systems on the mainland, the U.S. embassy said Thursday...He denied the charges but could be jailed for up to 15 years if found guilty of hijacking the airwaves and cables to broadcast Falun Gong material.'

Early the next morning she said to me: "Now I believe Falun Falun Dafa is good. Are you reading the Falun Gong books everyday? Can I read those books too?" I said: "Of course. There is a photograph of Teacher Li in the books too." Then she took a book anxiously, looked at Teacher Li's picture and said: "Teacher looks so kind, how could they say bad words against him?"

When they were in the US, they could only look at the posters from far away; they dared not to approach the posters or accept materials. Even with this restriction, they were greatly awakened. The classmate said with sincerity, "'Truthfulness, Benevolence, Tolerance' is extremely powerful; Jiang has no way to block it."

“I didn’t understand Falun Gong when I was in Mainland China after seeing the propaganda on TV and some bad words about Falun Gong told me by my friends. Over here, I’ve got the chance to get touch with Falun Gong practitioners and I feel that you are all nice people. Besides, what Teacher Li has said truly makes sense. It isn’t like what was said on TV. It’s not easy for you to do these, so I’d like to help you as much as I can.”
