Hong Kong Falun Gong practitioners appealed to the Hong Kong Government on January 23, 2003 to rescue Hong Kong permanent resident and Falun Gong practitioner Chan Wing-yuen who is being illegally imprisoned in Myanmar (Burma).

Whilst atrocities continue, many new police, especially those who directly graduated from college, were very disturbed by the severe physical and mental tortures used against Falun Gong practitioners. They said, "If I were assigned to the Falun Gong brigade, I would resign." Some of the new police revolted against their vicious colleagues who beat up and retaliated against Dafa practitioners for their legal appeals.

If he still wouldn't renounce his belief, they would resort to violence. With hands cuffed or tied together, a practitioner would be hit, kicked, slapped, or even hit on the head with wooden sticks that were approximately two-inches thick. Some Falun Dafa practitioners' faces turned black in the region below their eyes because of heavy bruises from being hit on the head.

Zhang Ruitong's legs were broken; the nerves in his spinal cord and his internal organs were also severely injured. His whole body was paralyzed for nearly a month. Liang Baochi was also severely injured. The other five practitioners were covered with blood and their faces were beaten beyond recognition. It was simply horrific to look at them after the beatings.

“I am very grateful for them being here to show us this practise, said one of the participants. I have tried some other systems before, but this one was "powerful". And I really hope that we can have a practice site here in Ludvika.”

A Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) spokeswoman said the women's family had contacted consular officials to report her disappearance..."We've been advised by the family that she's disappeared and we're investigating with the local authorities," she said.

On January 18, Falun Gong practitioners from New York held a Rescue Our Families Walk through Chinatown in New York City to further clarify the truth and call to put an end to Jiang regime's brutal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners.

Hearing what I said, the people in the store were touched. The storeowner then saw me to the bus station and offered me a cash card that was worth 10,000 Yuan to support our truth clarification efforts. He said, "The reform centre is supposed to be a place where bad people are reformed, but it has become a place where good people are forced to commit brutal deeds. It seems that the real criminals are the policemen who persecute Falun Dafa practitioners!"

During the discussion, practitioners shared experiences from recent truth clarifying efforts, and gained tremendous benefits. Everyone truly realised how important it is to share their understandings on the principles of the Fa, in order to elevate practitioners as a whole.

Through this cultivation process, my personal experience and understanding has been this: As Dafa practitioners, we are, first of all, members of society. Therefore, the way we speak and act should conform to ordinary human society's form. Moreover, we must be good people in ordinary human society and demonstrate the righteous human principles of "sincerity, kindness, and tolerance."
