At the time of the Chinese New Year, Falun Gong practitioners in the UK are holding a number of activities throughout the UK to help rescue their family members who have been incarcerated in China. Three of these cases are listed herein.

A man in his 70's was shamelessly sentenced to seven years in prison, only because he unfurled a banner that reads "Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance". We are shocked at this complete disregard for justice, and we also see that the Jiang regime in China is perpetrating illegal persecution against overseas Falun Gong practitioners through Chinese consulates.

Nancy and her daughter travelled to China on January 17 to visit her parents. On January 20, after she went to visit some friends in Chengdu, her family didn’t hear from her again until 6:00am on January 22, when her mother received a call from Nancy, saying: “I have been kidnapped near the American Consulate, Chengdu..."

A Sydney woman has been snatched off the street by police while visiting relatives in China, with friends believing she has been arrested because of her spiritual beliefs..Nancy Chen, 34, last contacted her family on Wednesday, telling them she had been "kidnapped" in Chengdu city in central China...Ms Chen, of Canterbury, is a practitioner of Falun gong

The Australian embassy in Beijing said Friday it was investigating claims that one of its nationals has been kidnapped in China's southwestern Chengdu province..."The embassy has been in contact with authorities in China to try to establish the whereabouts of Nancy Chen," a spokesman told AFP.

One afternoon team leaders Gong and Yang Bin ordered Liu Litao, "Write a letter to your family and ask for 2,000 Yuan for force feeding. Also, you have to write the "four letters." When the practitioners refused the team leader threatened, "Think it over and write it. Otherwise, I'll shoot you to death." After a while, when seeing Liu Litao still would not write, he dragged Liu to see leader Yang, "We will wait for the car downstairs and drag him out to shoot him."

Practitioners went on hunger strikes as a last resort to protest their unjust treatment. In dealing with practitioners who went on hunger strikes, they would cruelly force-feed them with a thin porridge containing a very highly toxic concentration of salt. This forced the practitioners to drink a lot of water and caused their legs to swell up.

His wife was giving birth when he was arrested a second time. Before he had a chance to get a good look at his infant son, he was taken away. His young wife has wept so much that she is nearly out of tears. It was her husband's righteousness and compassion for upholding the truth that supported her, and helped her survive two years of painful suffering. As his young son is growing up, he will not know his father. Yet he will be proud to know that his father believed and stood up for the noble values of Truthfulness –Compassion –Tolerance.

The brainwashing tactics are relentless, with no let up. From all angles the practitioners are bombarded by propaganda, along with violent coercion. Under the great pressure, this elderly practitioner became distracted and began speaking incoherently. Fearing to take responsibility, the "610 Office" told his daughter to take him away. She took him to her home, where, in his delirium, he walked from the building.

On January 13, 2003, Springfield, Illinois, the Illinois state government celebrated its new governor's inauguration..practitioners utilised this opportunity to successfully carry out activities to introduce Falun Dafa and clarify the truth to government officials as well as the public.

When the wind died down, Li Shun went to shore in order to seek help. When he arrived he saw that there was just a narrow meandering footpath up to the mountain, so he walked for five or six miles along the path. At that time he saw a man wearing a black hood and ancient clothes that were totally different from those of other people of that time period. This man then led Li Shun to climb a hill and then to the front of a palace where he saw many magnificent multi-storied buildings, pavilions and halls. It was just like a place where immortals would live.

He said, "The social security situation has been so bad recently. Who would dare to drive a customer to a place so far away from town? I wouldn't dare drive you there unless you are a Falun Gong practitioner...Presently I don't trust anybody but Falun Gong practitioners."

The 3rd Falun Gong practitioner went for the interview and told the reporter: "I benefit from practising Falun Gong. My health was poor, but after I started practising, I became healthy." But the reporter said: "I cannot write this down; I have to say that you were 'deceived'." The Falun Gong practitioner pointed out his wrongdoing and refused to cooperate with him. In the end, nothing was published.

I found that when doing local truth clarification work with the media and government officials, I was often passively holding out hope that everyday people would help us. I had not regarded this as a problem of my Xinxing (heart nature) and had not given myself strict requirements. But isn't this vain hope the same as reliance? It is already an attachment...
