On 17 January 2003, a group of Dafa practitioners from Belgium and Holland appealed outside of the Chinese Embassy in Brussels, calling for an end to the persecution and killing of Falun Gong practitioners in China.

Nancy and her daughter travelled to China on January 17 to visit her parents. On January 20, after she went to visit some friends in Chengdu, her family didn’t hear from her again until 6:00am on January 22, when her mother received a call from Nancy, saying: “I have been kidnapped near the American Consulate, Chengdu..."

On Wednesday, she phoned her mother with the message: "I have been kidnapped near the American Consulate, Chengdu..."They searched and took all my files including passport. Please ring my husband and ask the Australian Government to save me.".. Falun Gong was banned in China in 1999. Since then, 557 practitioners have died as a result of torture or brutality..

While in detention, officials from the Chinese Embassy supervised as local Burmese police repeatedly demanded that Mr. Chan present a written promise to forsake practicing Falun Gong, a demand commonly imposed on practitioners in China. In exchange for acting against his conscience, they offered him personal freedom.

"The heavy jail sentence secretly handed to this 70-year-old man was clearly unlawful, and is absolutely not acceptable by today’s international standard for human rights...We hope that the Myanmar Government will have the courage to stand up to temporary political pressure, and do what’s right for the country and the people by immediately and unconditionally releasing Mr. Chan."

Why did the authorities in this female prison only inform her family members two days after her death? Why did they not allow the family to check and examine the body? Why did they put heavy make up on her dead body? What were they trying to hide? The police will stop at nothing to use all methods of deception to conceal their evil deeds.

Because Li Xueqin refused to pay the illegally imposed fine, the lawless thugs demolished Li Xueqin's house on March 8, 2001. Li Zhengquan ordered all the officials from the village to participate in the demolition… he asked Li Zhengquan for the reason why they demolished the house. Li Zhengquan said, "I tore it down for no other reason than because I wanted to."

It was so humid and hot that it was very difficult for a person to breathe even for one minute, but Li Xupeng was forced to sit in the room for over ten hours. He was not allowed to stand up, walk, use a fan, or take a shower. After several days of the torture, Xupeng was physically exhausted, had serious symptoms of dehydration, and lost consciousness. The vicious police did not let him out, but instead they force-fed him with drugs, claiming he was ill.

On March 7 he and his wife were arrested and sentenced to the most severe prison terms of 12 and 8 year respectively. Their 16-year-old son was left with no one to take care of him. A happy family was thus torn apart because of the persecution. The damage to the family in material terms is devastating, but in psychological terms it is maybe beyond repair.

"[The Australian] Government considers that China's ban on Falun Gong breaches fundamental rights of assembly and free expression. The Government also believes that China's maltreatment of Falun Gong practitioners - including relatives of Australian citizens - contravenes the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR), which China has signed, but not yet ratified, and the Convention Against Torture."

Chinese folklore is full of ancient stories of cultivation, immortals and Taoists. These stories reflect the depth to which the concept of cultivation permeates the whole of Chinese culture, tradition and history. These stories are not directly related to Falun Gong, but are included on Clear Harmony because they are of interest to people, providing an deep insight into the historical origins of cultivation practise.

He saw that I really would not write it and said he would seek the advice of his superiors. In a short while he came back and asked me, "How do you do the exercises?" At that time, I was very surprised. I said that there were four sets of standing exercises and a sitting meditation. He then told me, "You can go home!"

A party secretary's work unit employed several Falun Dafa practitioners that had been transferred from other units. After hearing about the injustices that the practitioners had endured, the party secretary was very angry and immediately went to talk with each respective manager responsible for the unfair treatment. After the party secretary's efforts many things were resolved.

Once, after leaving my office, I did some things for exposing the evil persecution in China. During the way home, I thought my family would complain about my returning home late without a call to them. As a result, it was indeed so after coming home. After this, I understood that the mentality of fear was the source of tribulation, so I no longer feared anything. In return, I no longer have such tribulations.

The more I reasoned with him the more confusing it got and the angrier I became. I recalled that one fellow practitioner mentioned that to clarify the truth to a few people whom you knew very well might only take a few minutes, but before that, the elevation of one’s xinxing [moral quality] took a few months.
