During the signature drive, people from many different walks of life signed their names. Some asked us if we would continue the signature drive at the same place the next day because they wanted to bring their friends and relatives to sign. Some of them wrote down our address or took a blank form home or to their office to let others sign their names.

It was at the end of 2001 that I first heard that Wang Kefei was tortured to death in Heizuizi Female Forced Labour Camp in Changchun City. In January 2002, when I first looked at Kefei’s portrait, shock and anger filled my heart and my eyes were full of tears. I could not believe such a wonderful person could be tortured to death in a labour camp in a time when China claims to be experiencing its best human rights conditions in history.

At the end of August 2002, the American Psychiatric Association held a press conference to officially request that the Jiang regime stop using the profession of psychiatry to persecute Falun Gong practitioners...The doctors from China who participated in the conference were asked about the situation in China and their opinion on the persecution. Every doctor felt uncomfortable with his own conscience and was ashamed of the crimes instigated by the Jiang regime.

The practitioners are treated worse than animals and the behaviour of the police is so base it bears no resemblance to that of humans. On one occasion, vicious guards found a practitioner doing exercises, so they kicked her from the second floor down to the first floor. After she fell unconscious, the police claimed she was feigning death, so they kicked her face, stepped on her head and rolled over her hands with their boots until her fingers were bruised and lacerated with blood.

The police do not allow practitioners to sleep or talk for a long time. They force practitioners to face the wall, hang them up, strip their clothes off, tie them up to the bed or iron chair, shock them with high-voltages, put on heavy torture instruments and play loud noises against their ears.

Since he was kidnapped on November 10, 2002, Song Xu has been held at the No.1 Detention Centre of Zhengzhou City. The police said they had received an order instructing them that all those on hunger strikes who die from force-feeding are to be categorized as suicides. The force-feeding has left Song's mouth torn. His teeth became loosened as a result of the chopsticks used to force his mouth open.

At 9:00 a.m. on January 14, 2003, Tuesday, Melbourne Falun Gong practitioners entered Day 3 of their peaceful appeal in front of the Chinese Consulate, exposing the Jiang regime's brutal persecution of Falun Gong and calling for an immediate end to the killing. Local media came to cover the activity.

Meanwhile, Bill Rammell, British parliamentary under-secretary at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, said he had told Chinese officials during a recent visit to Beijing that international confidence in Hong Kong would be undermined if the issue were mishandled.'

Once she read about a female practitioner who spent 8 Yuan out of the 200 Yuan [The average monthly income of an urban worker is 500 Yuan] her son gave her to buy a pair of trousers and used the rest to print truth-clarification materials. My colleague said that she almost cried. "Falun Dafa practitioners are amazing. I have not brought my money with me today, but I will pay for some of the materials. This is my tribute to Falun Dafa."

Falun Dafa practitioner Zhang Li, female, was a resident of Anshan City, Liaoning Province. Having great compassion, she was always very kind and considerate, and thought of others before herself. In early 2002, police broke into her home and kidnapped her. She was viciously tortured for more than five months. On many occasions, she was brutally beaten until she lost consciousness. On August 27, 2002, she was tortured to death. The following are three short stories of her righteous actions in restoring the reputation of Falun Dafa and clarifying the truth.

After growing up, I inevitably learned all kinds of notions. Sometimes I had disagreements or a bad attitude towards my mother. But cultivation has helped me to break away from many concepts. I can see things from different perspectives. So I do not insist my own concepts, and measure others with my own concepts anymore. I have learned to understand others better and from their own perspectives, including my family members.

Human beings yearn for beautiful lives and strive for every goal all the time. However, if we recall the path of the life we have been through, we rarely find that we can determine our own destinies. Humans are so insignificantly small when facing their complex lives, complicated societies and ever-changing circumstances; so trivial that an economic wave will smash more than ten years’ achievements...
