During the many peaceful appeal activities over the past three years, the Chinese Embassy has often used various means to attempt to interfere with our press conferences, such as using loudspeakers to blast so-called "songs of revolution". Now, the embassy staff seem to be resorting to more underhanded methods against practitioners.

"Who is the person entitled to bear responsibility for this suppression, persecution, and slaughter? It’s Chinese dictator Jiang Zemin! It is he who ordered the setting up of the “610” office solely to suppress Falun Gong. It is he who secretly gave the order, “beating to death is to be reported as suicide” with immediate cremation to hide the cause of death. It is he who forced many Falun Gong practitioners to become homeless..."

As a matter of fact, the words and phrases used by the media in China are a complete reversal of the facts. The writer of this article has re-written a media report on the arrest of a Falun Gong practitioner to unravel the lies that the state-controlled media machine has created in an attempt to defame Falun Gong.

'Falungong spokespersons reported that, as in previous years, practitioners died in custody in 2002. (As of November 12, spokespersons claimed that since the start of the [persecution] in 1999, 513 practitioners had died in custody.) Followers from abroad detained in China, upon returning home, recounted tales of beatings and torture. Courts continued to sentence [practitioners] to long prison terms; public security officials sent others directly to reeducation camps. In December, a Beijing court sentenced six academics to terms of up to twelve years for distributing Falungong materials.'

'Falun Gong practitioners held a vigil outside the Chinese Embassy for two days, to appeal against the cruel torture of Falun Gong practitioners in China. Four Chinese women participated in this worldwide activity today to protest against Jiang Zemin, [..] who outlawed the meditation practice of Falun Gong in 1999.'

A well-known kind and innocent person was illegally detained, sent to jail and tortured to death only because she believed in Truth, Compassion, Tolerance, and tried to become a truly good person. Kind-hearted people, while we admire her noble actions of speaking out the truth, persisting in her belief under great pressure, shouldn't we also rationally and clearly realise the truth about this persecution?

These once-healthy people both died at home, but their deaths were caused by the torture and other inhumane treatment they received in prison. The Jiang regime cannot fool rational people into believing that if they release dying practitioners from detention and then claim that their deaths are from diseases or suicides, that it exonerates the authorities from these terrible crimes.

This steadfast practitioner, was tortured until he died because he would not relinquish his belief in the principles of Truthfulness - Compassion - Tolerance. He had personally experienced the benefits of Falun Dafa and wanted the good name of Dafa restored.

There were large patches of cigarette burns on his face. At about 6 o'clock one evening, wicked policeman Qu Sheng kicked and punched two female Dafa practitioners. As a result, one female practitioner spat up blood and lost consciousness. Afterwards, staff members were seen carrying out a basin of bloody water from her room..

Falun Gong practitioners held a press conference and peaceful appeal outside the Chinese Liaison Office in Hong Kong to end the killing of Falun Gong practitioners in Mainland China... Hong Kong practitioners exposed the Jiang regime's crime of genocide and called for an end to the killings.

On the evenings of both January 13 and 14, Macao practitioners carried out candlelight vigils at the park across from the Chinese Liaison Office to commemorate Dafa practitioners who gave their lives for the truth.

On National Day of 2000, this practitioner went to Tiananmen Square to appeal for Falun Dafa, and was arrested. She used her personal experiences to show that Falun Dafa is magnificent and sacred. The police officer was so moved that he personally accompanied this practitioner to the bus stop and told her to continue her cultivation after she got back home.

Before my cultivation, we used to quarrel with each other all day long, but now you see how harmonious our family is. The illnesses that haunted me for over 30 years have also disappeared...

Although I was righteously asking for an end to the persecution and for practitioners in China to have their human rights returned I was troubled afterwards because I raised my voice and was not calm enough. Troubled that the embassy staff might have a negative regard of Dafa because of this incident, when most practitioners left and only myself and one other remained I asked the embassy staff if I could come in and talk to them about Falun Gong.

This is a story of long ago about my great grandfather and his father, my great great grandfather. It is a well known story in my home town. It is most important in traditional Chinese culture that the young fulfil their parents’ expectations that they will be cared for in old age, and that they will be regarded with respect and listened to. This story is about this kind of virtue.
