I received a Chinese Spectacular Video-CD. Each and every number in that wonderful show touched me deeply. My heart rises and falls with the action – sometimes joyful, sometimes tearful, sometimes contemplative, and sometimes awestruck. In spite of the lack of thunderous live sound or the gigantic, bright backdrop, I still reacted strongly. I watched it again and again, every time feeling the cleansing of my being and the ascent of my soul.

In Changli County, Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province, a little girl named Guo Yuetong whose mother and father were both Falun Gong practitioners, was illegally detained with her mother at a custodial station and brainwashing centre when she was just one year old. She was three years old when she was released. When she turned five, she was arrested again with her mother, and was illegally detained again. Why doesn't the media care for these young mothers and tender small children?

In both Western and Chinese cultures, the principle of karmic retribution, that is, being held ultimately accountable for one's own actions, is widely accepted. The fundamental teaching of Falun Gong is the characteristic of the universe, "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." The universe will reward acts that are in harmony with this principle, while doing things such as beating, torturing and murdering people will incur karmic retribution. Articles such as this one are meant as a compassionate reminder of this principle to those who would commit wrongdoing.

Everyone listened quietly lest they miss a single word. He cleared his throat and continued, "The Falun Gong practitioners are all good people. They have contributed a lot to our village. If the government wants to arrest these practitioners, let them take me first!"

There are those who may think that, because the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is holding the Olympic Games, the human rights situation and social conflicts in China will improve, thereby quelling the international community's criticism of its human rights violations. Those who understand the true nature of the CCP do not see it this way.

As compared to the Party's past suppressions, this form of hidden persecution is more sinister. The CCP still positions itself as a promoter of the Olympic spirit, deceiving the world, even as it takes blatant steps to crush human rights across China. The Chinese Communist Party then turns around and uses the Games as a way to legitimize its power, a "justification" for its political housecleaning, thus enabling it to be even more relentless in persecuting its own people.

NEW YORK – Chinese security agencies have been conducting large-scale arrests of Falun Gong adherents throughout China in recent months as authorities step up efforts to "stamp out" the practice in advance of the Olympic Games, in August, the Falun Dafa Information Center reported today.

Larissa Bachmann, a natural therapist, said that the show was a big surprise to her. "I loved this show, as the dances are so elegant and graceful. All the dancers are superb and the MCs are great. Though we don't know much Chinese language, we all enjoyed the performance. The costumes are dazzling and each performance was very fascinating," she said emotionally.

The inquiry focuses on whether these persons have a criminal record, their behavior during "the Great Cultural Revolution" and the "June 4th Event" (Tiananmen Massacre), whether they are Falun Gong practitioners, and whether they have relatives living overseas. The forms must be signed by the crews' relatives and must be stamped by their local police department. Apparently, this has to do with heightened security related to the upcoming Olympic Games.

the CCP has never ceased human rights violations, nor do they plan to fulfill its promise, but instead are using this "sensitive period" to further suppress human rights, being especially brutal toward Falun Gong practitioners. The Olympics has become an excuse the CCP is using to persecute Falun Gong. This crime should draw the focused attention of international society.

They poured hot pepper juice into his nose and inserted toothpicks under his fingernails. The guards also took his money and belongings without giving him any receipts. The tortures were even worse than what we saw in the movies, how Japanese invaders treated Chinese people during World War II. Right and wrong were flipped. These people were doing such horrendous things under the name of "law". It wasn't hard to see who was righteous and who was wicked.

There have been no signs of improving human rights in China. Rather, the regime is escalating the suppression of the Chinese peoples' speech, beliefs, even the most basic right to live, using the excuse of hosting the Olympics. Countless Chinese people have been arrested, detained, had their homes taken away, or killed, especially during the persecution of Falun Gong. The Beijing Olympics are turning into the "Bloody Olympics."

The Divine Performing Arts on Tour, a New York-based company that revives traditional Chinese culture through mythology-inspired classical dances, ethnic folk dances, opera-style songs, and Western and Eastern music, ended its run of four shows at the Royal Festival Hall in London on the evening of February 24th amidst thunderous and prolonged applause.

In true traditional Chinese culture, two things are emphasised: the belief in the divine and the contest between good and evil. These two things are also closely related. The ability to discern good and evil comes from the heavens, and that is the basis for morality. Even though sometimes the side of good appears to be weaker than the side of evil, those with a strong sense of morality can determine which is which.

The 2007 report detailed an array of evidence that strongly suggests the Chinese communist regime is killing thousands of Falun Gong practitioners held in detention and selling their organs in lucrative transplant deals. The report found that Canadians are among the developed world "customers" who travel to China for transplants.

Guests invited to take part in the talk show included the most famous comedian in the Netherlands, Erik van Muiswinkel. Van Muiswinkel promoted a "Don't go to China" song in the Netherlands together with lyric writer Jeroen van Meermijk. The name of the song is "China Song," and is sung by a famous four-person group.

On February 20th, 2008, the audience gave a resounding to goodbyes from the hosts of the Divine Performing Arts final performance at the World Forum Theatre in the Hague. "See you next year," they exclaimed. Thunderous applause demanded a second curtain call, greeted by a standing ovation.

Comparing this information with the Chinese Communist Party's denouncements against Falun Gong, I became convinced that my original conviction was correct. The CCP's persecution of Falun Gong is ruthless! When I deeply understood the truth about how Falun Gong was persecuted, I was profoundly shocked and stayed in shock for many days. I realised how indifferent I and the people surrounding me are."

"One thing I feel deeply tonight is that the traditional Chinese culture depicted in the Spectacular by Divine Performing Arts has become even purer. The moral ethics and principles, cultivation and atmosphere in the Chinese tradition are all well-blended in the performances..."

After the incident, a villager made a comment, "In this day and age, how can these people still persecute cultivators that practise 'Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance?' Jiang Zemin (former head of the Chinese Communist Party), the evil one that initiated the persecution of Falun Gong, is wanted by the Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong in China. And there are almost 20 courts around the world that have accepted lawsuits against Jiang. He is infamous around the world and is condemned by many."

Undoubtedly, the Divine Performing Arts has overcome racial and cultural barriers and won over the minds and souls of both Eastern and Western audience members. One may ask, "So many governments and international organizations have dreamed about having an in-depth and meaningful cultural exchange between East and West and have spent huge amounts of money during the past several decades to make it come true. How did the Divine Performing Arts accomplish this in such a short period of time?"

On February 8th, 2008, Mr. Zheng drove his family eleven hours from North Carolina to see the the thirteenth show of the Chinese New Year Splendour in New York having had the show suggested to him by a friend. Upon seen the show, they said excitedly that they liked each and every program, so much in fact that they were at a loss for words.

New Tang Dynasty Television's Chinese New Year Splendor, performed by Divine Performing Arts, was recently staged at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. New York State Senator Bill Perkins issued the following proclamation to recognize New Tang Dynasty Television on the occasion of the Splendor. The Proclamation says: "We have an organization worthy of our highest respect and esteem."

Over the course of several decades, the CCP has liberally used violence to eradicate people's belief in and reverence for divine beings. Even today, they still maintain its mantra of "doing away with superstitions," which is a different way of targeting spiritual beliefs. It has gotten to the point that it is difficult to reverse the effects of the Party-driven march into atheism.

The Chinese New Year Splendor is continuing its run at Radio City Music Hall. As the curtain rises and lowers, the audience applauds and cheers for the performances. At the conclusion of the show on February 4th, some audience members lingered in their seats and some in the lobby, not wanting to leave. They said they wanted to savour the moment.

On February 3rd, the Divine Performing Arts finished its sixth Chinese New Year Splendor performance in New York City. For the past few days, Radio City Music Hall has been packed with people with many people praising the Divine Performing Arts' performances as "the best," "the most beautiful," and "the purest."

Mr. Chang Jingnan, Director of the Culture Center of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in New York, and his wife attended the Chinese New Year Splendor, staged by the Divine Performing Arts in Radio City Music Hall on January 31st, 2008, and were very touched. Mr. Chang said, "Congratulations to NTDTV! I wish the Divine Performing Arts even greater success!"

When asked how they felt about the Splendor show, they answered unanimously in Chinese, "Very good! Very good!" Mr. Kung laughed and said, "We are very proud to be Chinese! The show has depicted true Chinese history and culture. It is very inspiring!

Professor Gao, from the chemistry department of Kean University, took his son and daughter to see the show. He said that he better understood the concept of divine culture after watching the show. He said with excitement, "It was definitely worth it! It was good for my two kids. It was better than I expected."

Ms. Huang from Hong Kong said she had never seen such a magnificent show. "Everyone around me was praising the show... I liked every piece, they are so vivid and real. And the dancers seem to perform difficult moves with such ease. It is really amazing."

Mr. Tran said, "I especially liked 'The Power of Awareness', which helped me to know more about Falun Gong. We know that evil can never defeat good. There is a similar thing occurring in Vietnam, with the Communist party always trying to control people's thinking and their freedom of expression. From my past experiences, I understood the dance well, which was a presentation of people's awareness and righteous choices."

Norby later fought back publicly in the Los Angeles Times, saying that a foreign government is trying to give orders to an American official, telling him "not to support" or "not to acknowledge" a certain group. He wrote, "Your letter is officially asking the Orange County City Council to help the communist party persecute Falun Gong...this is an insult and is absolutely unacceptable."

Ken Coates, University of Waterloo Dean of Arts, and his wife Carin Holroyd, an Asia expert, watched the show with their son Marlon Coates and adopted Vietnamese daughter, Hanna on the evening of January 19th. Mr. Coates said that he liked the pieces which depicted legends in Chinese history. "The drum dances were absolute splendour, and the Tibetan dance was very soft and pretty."

An article in the Wall Street Journal stated that in today's China, where communism had failed, "getting rich" is the belief of most Chinese. China is heading in a frightening direction because people are not bound by morality, belief, and law; the society is not monitored by a free media; and the materialistic worship of money has become the mainstream ideal and national "religion."

The letters demanded that they not attend the Divine Performing Art shows. They asked that no congratulatory letters or letters of recognition be sent. Furthermore, they insisted that no support of any kind be given to NTDTV's Chinese New Year Spectacular. The majority of individuals who received such letters were rather annoyed. They replied with a formal response to the Chinese consulates and publicized the letters.

US Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez said in a greeting message: "I along with the US Congress commend the significant Chinese New Year celebration event through dance, background scenery, and costume, without communist culture. I warmly congratulate the event and wish everyone a thriving, happy, and healthy New Year."

Rosemary Heborn, a retired teacher, highly praised the show which she went to see on January 14th. She said her friends told her that the Chinese embassy had tried to interfere with the show and she realised the reason after seeing it--the Chinese Communist Party persecutes its own people and the show exposes that persecution. She said that in Canada, the Chinese government has no right to interfere with people's freedom.

On January 14th, 2008, Divine Performing Arts' second Chinese New Year Spectacular show in Ottawa came to a successful close amidst enthusiastic applause from an audience of 2,000 attendees. The two-day performances of Divine Performing Arts graced about 4,000 audience members, and also were highly acclaimed by renowned persons in Canada.

Carol has a ballet background and a great appreciation for dance. She said that the performance was intricate and elegant, and the dancers were talented and yet reserved. She liked the presentation of cultural values through fan, chopstick and bowl dances, and was very happy to learn more about Chinese culture from different regions of the vast country.

Girls as pure flower buds dance in between the clear springs and flowers. Their steps are as soft as clouds flowing on water, and as a breeze on the surface of a lake. They are like water fairies. The quiet and elegant movements soothe people's hearts, and the pure clean minds bring tears to people's eyes.

Suddenly, several people rushed out, grabbed her tightly, and roared, "Catch this Falun Gong practitioner. Take her away and lock her up." The postal employees carefully checked all the items in the parcel, which included a letter and a photo. They finally confirmed that she was not a Falun Gong practitioner and released her. She was scared and trembling. She packed up her items and said to herself, "What is the problem? This is awful."

Because the material the road was made of was not hard enough, vehicles using the road had created deep ditches along the sides. It was even difficult to walk down the road on sunny days. If it was raining, the muddy water in the deep ditches was knee-deep. After she saw this, she started to repair the road along with a neighbor who is also a practitioner. Not long after, a smooth and even road took shape before the villagers' eyes.

The Party is the true villain of China. It persecutes kind and innocent Falun Gong practitioners, who spread the truth. All the heavens condemn this persecution. I was also victimized by the Communist Party. I lost all of my fortune, and my family was shattered. Having set into motion this gigantic crime, the Party is still disguising the truth, deluding the people, and persecuting Falun Gong practitioners

"The costumes were lovely. Everything is inspiring. The dancer is like a musician and they use their bodies as instruments to portray emotion. It was beautiful inside and out. It was stimulating as well. There are a lot of moral lessons to be learned and this show is good for the younger generation. The dancers are beautiful. They have a lot of heart and the emcees were lovely."

Early Christmas morning, calls to the ticket hot-lines started coming in non-stop. More than an hour before the show, the audience began lining up outside the theater. Before the show began, spare tickets were hard to come by. The audience that night was made up of many different ethnicity's from various cultural backgrounds and ages. They had high praise for the show and thanked the Divine Performing Arts for an unforgettable Christmas.

Nine performances of the "Holiday Wonders" show have been presented by the Divine Performing Arts (DPA) in New York City, Baltimore and cities in North Carolina. The first performance was at the Beacon Theater in New York on December 18th, 2007. The Chinese Communist Party has attempted to interfere with the shows.

After watching the Holiday Wonders, Mr. Cheng Xiaonong, the chief editor of "Modern China Studies" from Princeton University, called the persecution of Falun Gong a large-scale political persecution without any ground or legal basis. It is a persecution of all Chinese people.

Whether it is when I am alone, or when I am doing some everyday thing in society, always being "upright" is difficult to uphold. Sometimes when watching shows, it is almost impossible to avoid immoral things. Human morality is deteriorating daily. Many works of art only emphasise some skill instead of conveying something that will change one's soul. I was very disillusioned until I watched a performance of The Divine Performing Arts.
