  • Finland: Raising Awareness about the Month of Global Withdrawal from the Chinese Communist Party

    After July 2007 was designated as the month of global withdrawal from the Chinese Communist Party, volunteers at Finland's Centre for Withdrawal from the Chinese Communist Party and some Falun Gong practitioners held activities at the beginning of the month to reveal the brutal persecution of Falun Gong by the Chinese Communist Party.

    On July 20th, 2007, Falun Gong practitioners from all over Sweden gathered in Kalmar, a small city in south east Sweden where local practitioners have, for several years, let the media and the public know about the persecution in China.   • Italy: Rome and Milan Commemorate Eight Years of CCP Persecution Against Falun Gong

    To remember the 3066 Falun Gong practitioners who were killed because they refused to give up their faith in the principles of Truth, Compassion and Forbearance, Italian Falun Gong practitioners held peaceful protests in front of the Chinese Embassy in Rome and the Chinese Consulate in Milan on the morning of July 20th.

    "I send you my heartfelt support in your demonstration to commemorate the 8th Anniversary of the beginning of the persecution of Falun Gong and I call upon the Government of the People's Republic of China to cease all violations of human rights. I call upon the Government to release all prisoners of conscience immediately and unconditionally and to abide by the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights. I also urge the Government to end the persecution of the Falun Gong spiritual movement and the resulting numerous human rights violations, to abolish "Re-education Through Labour" and to ensure that all offences punishable with deprivation of liberty are brought within the scope of the Criminal Law."
  • Hungary: Mourning the Deaths of Over Three Thousand Practitioners

    To mark eight years since the CCP persecution of Falun Gong began, Hungarian practitioners held a protest on July 20th at the Chinese Embassy in Budapest. During the few hours that the practitioners were there, many passers-by stopped and read the posters. Practitioners gave them leaflets and explained what Falun Gong is and why it is being persecuted.
  • Czech Republic: Activity in Brusperku To Raise Awareness about the Abuse of Falun Gong Practitioners in China

    On May 19th, 2007, practitioners of Falun Gong gathered in the city of Brušperku to let local people know about Falun Gong, which is a peaceful spiritual practice which cultivates mind and body. They also raised awareness about the practice's persecution by the Chinese government, which banned Falun Gong in 1999 largely due to the fact that the then Chinese leader, Jiang Zemin, was jealous of Falun Gong's popularity.
  • Russia: Practitioners in St Petersburg have Protested against the Persecution at the Chinese Consulate for Three Years

    On July 7th, 2007, as usual, a Falun Gong practitioner with a banner both in Chinese and Russian in his hands was stands in front of the Chinese Consulate in St. Petersburg. A number of Falun Gong practitioners stand on the opposite bank of the canal, protesting against the persecution of Falun Gong by the CCP which has lasted for eight years.
  • Denmark: Let the Lighting of the Olympic Torch Become a Hope for Improving Human Rights

    On the 7th and 8th of July 2007, the Global Service Centre for Quitting the CCP and the Danish China Human Rights Internet Organisation held a joint rally and parade at the largest square in Copenhagen, supporting over twenty three million brave Chinese people who quit the Chinese Communist Party and its affiliated organisations. European member of the Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong in China Leif Bork Hansen made a speech.
  • Switzerland: Stories During Activities to Raise Awareness about the Persecution of Falun Gong

    Luzerne is a famous tourist spot in Switzerland. Many visitors, including more and more tourists from mainland China, are attracted here by its fame. Falun Gong practitioners from Switzerland think that this is a good place to tell Chinese people about the persecution of Falun Gong face to face, distribute the Epoch Times newspaper's editorial “The Nine Commentaries of the Communist Party” and inform people how to quit the CCP. For this reason, Swiss practitioners come here in turns five days a week. When meeting tourists from mainland China, there were many touching stories.
  • Germany: Practitioners Raise Awareness about the Persecution of Falun Gong during the Free Democratic Party Conference

    During the Free Democratic (FDP) Conference in Stuttgart, Falun Gong practitioners handed leaflets to the party representatives at the main entrance to the arena, exposing the Chinese Communist Party’s persecution and organ harvesting of Falun Gong practitioners in China. Some of the representatives have already had a clear understanding of the persecution. On May 10th 2007, Florian Toncar, spokesman for the FDP and member of the Human Rights and Humanitarian Aid Committee had pushed German MPs to jointly submit a resolution condemning the CCP system of forced labour education.
  • Turkey: Raising Awareness in Ankara about the Bestial Crime of Organ Harvesting

    On July 7th and 8th, 2007, in the busy city centre of Ankara, Falun Gong practitioners distributed leaflets, talked with passersby and collected signatures to raise awareness about the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong in China, including the removal of organs from living Falun Gong practitioners. They called on local people to support an end to the persecution.
  • EU MP Expresses Doubts about the Olympic Games in Beijing

    Following a story in Denmark’s biggest daily newspaper, Jyllands-Posten, entitled “Denmark’s two parties demand that the Prince stay away from the Beijing Olympic Games”, Denmark’s biggest sport newspaper Ekstrabladet also carried an article, written by a Danish MEP, Gitte Seeberg, entitled “The Olympic Games in China”. The article was published on July 7th and focuses on the many human rights problems in China, asking what can Western society do about it?

    Buryat Republic is a vast but thinly populated area in Russian Siberia. A villager has a relative who is a Falun Gong practitioner in Irkutsk. One year ago, the villager was lucky enough to learn Falun Gong and started cultivation.
